While Brimhaven is a members only area, the area east of it, as well as Crandor, is accessible to free players. Brimhaven is famous to members for its Agility arena, and Brimhaven Dungeon for it’s metal dragons, while the free area section of Karamja is widely known for its fishing locations. Karamja is the only island free players can access.

Special Attractions
Brimhaven Dungeon
The Brimhaven Dungeon, or metal dragon dungeon, is located just south-west of Brimhaven. To gain access to the dungeon, you must pay Saniboch 875gp. Don’t forget to take a hatchet to chop the vines! Level 15 agility is required to pass the obstacles in this dungeon, and level 5 woodcutting is required to chop the vines. Inside the dungeon, there are bronze, iron, and steel dragons, wild dogs, moss giants, greater demons, black demons and fire giants. For more information, see the Brimhaven Dungeon guide.

 

Crandor
This is Crandor, a small island accessible from Karamaja’s dungeon and by boat in the Dragon Slayer quest. It also has areas for combat training and multiple mining locations.

Dead Man’s Chest pub
Talk to the Bartender to buy a beer for 1gp or a grog for 3gp. A grog will lower your attack by 6, but it will heal 3 hitpoints and add 3 to your strength level.

Player Owned House
There is a portal out the front of the house that you must go through to be able to enter your own, or a friends house. If you wish to move, speak to the Real Estate Agent located in Varrock. It will cost you 15,000gp to move here.

Agility Arena
This is one of the main attractions for Brimhaven. Pay Cap’n Izzy No-Beard 200gp to enter and you will be able to gather tickets. These tickets can later be redeemed for prizes from Pirate Jackie the Fruit. For more information on the agility arena, visit our Agility guide.

Karamja Volcano
This is a popular training place for a wide variety of RuneScape players. Here you will encounter giant bats (level-27), skeletons (level-22, 25, 45), lesser demons (level-82), and deadly red spiders (level-34). This dungeon is also the home of the famous dragon, Elvarg (level-83). You will need to defeat this dragon during the Dragon Slayer quest.

A recent addition to the game brings the TzHaar Fighting Pits to the Karamja Volcano. The TzHaar Fighting Pits is a mini game, whereby you must kill as many monsters as possible, to gain Tokkul to buy items from the TzHaar stores.

Luthas’ Banana Plantation
If by any chance you forget your boat fare to get off Karamja, head over to the banana plantation. Talk to Luthas and he will agree to pay you 30gp to help him fill up his crate with ten bananas. The banana trees are located west of his house.
The Banana Plantation also contains a famous fishing spot for free players. The Plantation Fishing Dock will allow you to catch shrimps, sardine, herring, anchovies, tuna, lobster, and swordfish. This is one of two places available to free players where tuna, lobsters, and swordfish can be caught (the other is in the wilderness).

Leaving the Island
There are two locations on the northern part of Karamja where you can leave the island. There is a port north of Brimhaven, which sails to Ardougne, and a port on the far eastern part of the island, which sails to Port Sarim. However when leaving the island you will be inspected by Custom Officers in case you’re trying to smuggle Karamja Rum off the island. These trips will cost you 30gp.

Charter Ships
Certain ships at ports throughout RuneScape now have the ability to charter you to a number of locations. The sailers also stock certain items that they’ve picked up along their travels throughout RuneScape that you are able to buy. The brimhaven charter ship departs north of Brimhaven to Catherby (480gp), Karamja (480gp), Mos Le Harmless (725gp), Port Khazard (400gp), Port Phasmatys (3,650gp), Port Sarim (1,600gp), Shipyard (400gp), Tyras Camp (3,200gp). While the east Karamja charter near the banana plantation departs to Brimhaven (200gp), Catherby (480gp), Mos Le Harmless (225gp), Port Khazard (400gp), Port Phasmatys (1,850gp), Shipyard (200gp), Tyras Camp (3,200gp). To halve the cost of these charter ships, wear a ring of charos (a).

Diary of Achievement
The Diary of Achievement is a series of tasks assigned by people around the island of Karamja.The tasks are completed for rewards, such as gloves. Brimhaven is where Jackie the Fruit resides, who will assign you the Easy tasks. Once you have completed these, you can return to him for your Easy Gloves. After completing the Medium and Hard tasks, you can go to other people in other locations to claim those gloves.

Burthorpe is a very quiet town. You start three quests there including Death Plateau, Troll Stronghold and A Tale of Two Cats. Burthorpe is also the holder of the games room, and the Rogue’s Den. The quickest way to get to Burthorpe is by using the games necklace to teleport into the Games Room and is often used as a quick way to recharge amulets of glory. The city is also home to the Warrior’s Guild.

Special Attractions
Games Room
The Games Room is a place where you can just come with friends, relax and play games together. The games include RuneLink, which is like Connect 4, Draughts, which is similar to Checkers, Runesquares, and Runeversi, which is basically Reversi. You do not get any experience in any skills for playing these games.

The Rogue’s Den
The Rogue’s Den is an agility and thieving training area. Complete the maze and you will receive certain rogue items. The entrance to the den is in the Toad and Chicken Inn.
The Warriors’ Guild
The town also hosts the Warriors’ Guild where higher level players if their Attack and Stength levels add up to 130 or more can enter.

Death Plateau: The starting and finishing points for Death Plateau are both located in Burthorpe, Talk to Denulth in tent south of the castle.
A Tail Of Two Cats: Speak to Unferth in his house in Burthorpe to begin the quest.
Troll Stronghold: Both the finishing and starting point for this quest is in Burthorpe, speak to Denulth, in the tent south of the castle.

Catherby is a prime fishing location for low to high-level anglers; however, it is only accessible to members. There are a wide variety of salt-water fish as well as a range and bank within a few seconds walk. It is one of the most populated RuneScape locations due to its rich source of fish. Catherby is also the home to a farming allotment, herb patch, flower patch, and fruit tree patch.
You may now teleport to this location upon completion of the Lunar Diplomacy Quest.

Special Attractions
Fishing spots
There are shrimp, sardine, herring, anchovies, mackerel, cod, tuna, lobster, bass, swordfish, and shark in the Catherby fishing area. It is quite popular because it’s only five seconds away from a range, and ten seconds away from a bank.

Arhein’s Boat
Stowing away on this boat is the only way to gain access to Keep Le Faye, which is south-east of Catherby. To board this boat you must ‘Hide’ in the crate behind the Candle shop.

Farming Patches

There are two different farming areas in Catherby. The first is the allotment, which contains the flower patch, herb patch, and a patch to plant fruit and vegetables. This area, north of the bank, also has a farming store, which sells items required to farm with. The second area contains a fruit tree patch, where you can obviously grow your fruit trees – located near the fishing spots.

White Wolf Mountain
If you haven’t completed the Fishing Contest quest, you will need to navigate your way through these mountains to get to Taverley. Be wary whilst traveling through this icy terrain, as there are Wolves (level 29), White Wolves (level 38), and Big wolf (level 73), waiting to hunt down passers-by. Ice Giants (level 49), and Ice Warriors (level 53), also find their home in the mountain.

Quests
Fishing Contest: Just north-east of Catherby, is the quest’s start and end point. Upon completion of the quest, you will be able to use the passage under White Wolf Mountain, which leads to Taverley.

There are several reasons to go to Draynor Village. Firstly, it’s the best woodcutting destination in all of Asgarnia and Misthalin. Secondly, it’s a common city in quests, and also the only place where free players can obtain dyes.

If you want to dye your cape or get some dyes for a quest, visit Aggie the Witch. She will make you dyes with different ingredients:

Yellow dye: Two Onions and 5gp.
Red dye: Three Redberries and 5gp.

Green dye: Mix yellow dye with blue

To dye a cape, use your bottle of dye on a cape of any color. You can get capes by killing the Highwaymen who wander on the path going from Lumbridge to Port Sarim, or buy them in the Champions’ Guild, or Varrock clothes store.

Draynor Village is commonly referred to as the best woodcutting spot in F2P. South-west of the bank there are a bunch of Willow Trees which are great for burning, or collecting in your bank.

Fishing Spots
This is pretty much the only place for level one fishers, and I would recommend training here until about level 25. The reason being is that it’s safe, there is a bank nearby, and there are plenty of fishing spots.

Wizards’ Tower
The Wizards’ Tower is a good spot to train magic, with a lesser demon in a cage on the top floor. Within the tower, members can buy Splitbark armour.

The Jail
The jail is a great low-level combat training area. Here, you can three-item, and continue training on the jail guards until you die, then run back from Lumbridge and continue on, without losing anything.

The Sewers
The sewers are used as part of the Desert Treasure quest. There are many zombies down here to train on, as well as an anvil for smithers to use. The dungeon has 2 entrances, one near Diango’s house and the other near the Jail.

. Raise your woodcutting to 30 so you can chop willows. Chop willows and sell them for 30-40 each. Willows go very very fast if you chop in draynor village or seers village, so this is very quick money. Once you raise your woodcutting to 50, proceed to method 2 (If you are a member). If you are a non member, raise your woodcutting to 60, and proceed to step 3. You should make about 600k gold off of step 1.

2. If you have 50 woodcutting, it is a lot easier to chop maples. Maples sell for about 90-100 each, and they are moderately high in demand. There are maple crops all around seers village which makes banking EASY. Chop maples and sell them until you reach 60 or 70 woodcutting. 70 is recommended for step 3. If you cut until 70, you should have made about 4 Million gold.

3. At 70 woodcutting, you will be able to chop yews very easily. The best yew chopping spots are at Edgeville, The Tree Gnome Stronghold, and Seers Village. If you are a member, plant yourself at seers village and chop until level 75. If you are a non member, plant yourself in edgeville and chop forever. You can make up to 200k an hour chopping yews as a non member. Yews sell for about 300 each. When you reach level 75 woodcutting, you should have made about 2.2 Million gold, which makes your total gold earned from woodcutting 6.8 Million.

4. Ok, so you are level 75 woodcutting… you can now chop magics. These sell for 1k-1.1k each. I suggest you buy a dragon woodcutting axe, because you can make millions a week on magics. Set yourself up behind the duel arena. There is a bank right by, and the trees aren’t as crowded. If you do this every time you play, you can make upwards of 4-5m Gold PER DAY!

But, very soon you’re going to want to upgrade your strategy for fighting as a Mage or Ranger in the online role playing game, Runescape – soon, your opponents will start to beat you rather hard, because you don’t have the armor that a melee fighter does. Hide behind stuff, just like my secondary character (a little mismatched in dress) is doing with this lvl 10 Dwarf in the Dwarf Mines. Find monsters with good drops and good experience who offer you things to hide behind as you attack them. Sheep Farm
In the front of the building are chickens, and to the east in the large pen are sheep.

Furnace
This is the furnace. You can smelt your raw metals into bars here. It is not very popular, however many new players tend to use it.

Fishing
Two fishing areas. The fishing options here are bait or lure. This allows you to catch Trout and Salmon with a fly fishing rod and feathers or Pike with a fishing rod and bait. The closest bank would be at the top floor of the castle.

Castle
The Lumbridge Castle has four floors.

The basement has a few item re-spawns such as a sink, jug, bucket, knife, and cabbage, and leather boots.
On the first floor, you can start the Cook’s Assistant quest. When finished the quest, you can use the range for an added cooking bonus.
The Second floor has the starting point for the Rune Mysteries Quest and the The Lost Tribe quest, a bronze dagger re-spawn, and a spinning wheel.
The third and final floor houses Lumbridge’s very own bank.

 

Church and Cemetery
An altar is located here to recharge prayer points. In the cemetery, there is a coffin with the headless ghost in it used for The Restless Ghost quest.

Lumbridge Swamps
The Lumbridge Swamp is home to many attractions – there is the water runecrafting temple, the entrance to the Lumbridge caves dungeon, two mines, swamp tar spawns, the entrance to the Lost city of Zanaris and also contains a short-cut to Al Kharid.

There are also two mines in Lumbridge swamp. The eastern one is closer to Lumbridge Castle bank, whilst the western one is closer to Draynor’s bank.

 

Canoes
Canoes are a new transportation style for members. One can canoe from Lumbridge all the way up the Lum river to Edgeville. Check out the Getting Around guide to learn more about how to use canoes and where you can land.

Culinaromancers’ Chest
The Culinaromancer chest is located in the basement of the Lumbridge Castle by the table with a cabbage on it. This chest is a reward for completing the Recipe for Disaster quest. As you finish each sub quest, you can access new items in the chest. This chest also has a bank for members to use.
