Ernest the Chicken

Description: Veronica is very worried. Her finance went into the big spooky manor house to ask for directions. An hour later and he’s still not out yet.
Start Point: Gates of Draynor Manor
Reward: 300 coins
Quest Points: 4
Items Needed: Spade (can be gotten during quest)
Requirements: None
Length: Medium
Difficulty: Novice
To Start: Speak to Veronica.

To begin this quest, you will need to go to the gates of Draynor Manor. Once you are there, find the woman named Veronica. Talk to her and she will tell you about how her fiancee, Ernest, went into Draynor Manor one hour ago and she has not seen him since. Tell Veronica that you will help find him, then go into the mansion.

Once you are inside the doors will close and lock behind you. Walk up the staircase that is close to the doors you entered into. When you make it upstairs, take the spiral staircase up another level and you will discover a person named Professor Oddenstein. Talk to him and ask about Ernest. He will tell you that Ernest helped him with an experiment and has been turned into a chicken. Ask him to turn him back and he will tell you that gremlins stole three parts from his machine, a Rubber tube, an Oil can, and a Pressure Gauge. He will then ask you to help find the parts.

First let’s get the Oil can, go to the basement. The basement can be accessed by a secret room behind a bookcase that is in the southwest corner of Draynor Manor. It should be easy to find. Once you get inside the secret room, start down the ladder. When you arrive at the basement, you will see many different levers that will open and close different doors. This is the part that makes Ernest the Chicken so hard, and many people give up when they reach this part. Luckily, you have me.

» Pull the A and B levers and open the northeast door.
» Pull the D lever and go through the southwest door then proceed through the south door.
» Pull the A and B levers again and open the northwest door then go through the west door followed by the north door.
» Pull the F and E levers and open the east door then continue through the next east door.
» Pull the C lever and head back through the northwest door and then through the west door.
» Pull the E levers and open the east door then the south door followed by another south door.
» Finally open the west door and grab the Oil can.

Now that you have your Oil can, we will get the Rubber tube next. Make your way to the ground floor and go to the southeast corner. Grab the spade in this room. (Unless you have gotten one already.)

Go outside through the door in the back of the room and head around the mansion to the other side. You will find a pile of compost and it will have the option to search it. Use the search option or use your spade on it and you will get a key. Go back into the house (using the front door) and use the key to open the small room behind the staircase. The room has a level 22 Skeleton, do not worry about it. Run it and grab the tube, then make a quick escape. Now you just have one more to go.

This next item is my personal favorite, The Pressure gauge! Go up the staircase and into the room south of the stairs. Pick up the Fish Food in the room and go back down the stairs. Head on over to the west side of the mansion and go into the small room next to the kitchen where you will notice some Poison. Pick up the Poison, and then use the Poison with the Fish food. This will make Poisoned Fish Food. Go back outside the mansion through the door you went through the first time and go to the southwest corner of the lawn (if you can call it a lawn, haha.) Now use the Poisoned Fish Food with the fountain. You will receive a message saying the fish have been killed. Now search the fountain and you will get the Pressure gauge.

Now simply go back into the mansion and talk to Professor Oddenstein. He will thank you for the items and then he will turn Ernest back into a human. Ernest (Ernest the Chicken) will be glad to no longer be a chicken, (who wouldn’t!) and he will reward you for your help.

Runescape Autominers

Runescape Autominers, Bots, and Hacks

Runescape autominers are something that every dedicated Runescape classic or Runescape 2 player has heard of, and has even thought about trying. Runescape autominers are actually cheats, also called Runescape hacks or Runescape bots. These programs actually work to help a player of the ultimate three dimensional game level up, win items that he or she may not have won legitimately, and even duplicate items they already have. While Runescape autominers seem like a great idea to help you advance in the game, Runescape autominers, Runscape hacks, and Runescape bots are all things that can get you in some serious trouble!

Runescape autominers are not any different than the cheats that are out there for just about every video game and online game you can think of. The only difference is that Jagex Ltd., the makers of Runescape are very clear about using Runscape autominers, cheats, Runescape hacks or anything like that. Using these programs usually just leads to you succeeding for a while, until you get caught. Unfortunately, when you get caught you’ll get banned and your Runescape days will draw to a close, just like that!

Many people begin to think about using Runescape autominers after they have spent countless hours trying to level up, attain a certain item, or get their character past a certain point. When you are desperate to advance, you’ll be more inclined to go for one of the many Runescape bots that people advertise. The problem is that you probably won’t get what you are looking for. While there are many legitimate Runescape autominers, hacks, and bots out there, most of them are just scams. You’ll often have to pay money, even a token amount to obtain these Runescape autominers and then they don’t work. While you aren’t out of a lot of money, it’s the principal of the matter. It can be frustrating, especially if you fall for these scams over and over again.

Many skillful and persuasive Runescape players actually take the Runescape autominer scam a bit further. They tell you that they can help you do whatever it is that they need to do, but then they require that you give them your username and password to actually get the Runescape autominer or the Runescape hacks. What happens is that they’ll actually take over the account and take everything you have, including any personal information! This is not good, but it’s a runescape bot scam that is pulled over on more people than you could imagine. Worse yet, there are Runescape autominer scams that actually involve a user selling his or her account to a particular person, waiting for them to input critical information, and then reclaiming the account! This means that you’ll lose all your vital information to a real scammer, and you’ll also lose all of the progress you may have made with the Runescape game.

Overall, Runescape autominers are not a good idea. So many of them are just scams, attempts to get your information, or take over your game. It’s easy to fall for these scams when you have spent countless hours trying to advance. Be careful, stick to the tips and advice pages and try to advance your Runescape game by legitimate means!

If you do really want to use a Runescape Autominer and are willing to take the chance to get your Runescape acount banned you can check out this post

Runescape Monsters

Monsters! Make those Runescape Monster! Yes, the crazy NCP levels could range anything from level 1 to the level 702 and could range anywhere in-between. The Jagex is always found making some more new Runescape Monster. They could prove useful in several ways. You must be wondering what they are good for. Well, these could prove helpful in various ways. Most popular usage is that it could be used for training. The players can sharpen the swords, tighten up the bows strings, charge the staffs, and slaughter several Runescape Monsters.

As in the Runescape Monster dies, it would drop out items. These dropped items could be better with increasing level when the monster died. Level 92, greater demons would have fantastic drops on the rare occasions. These greater demons are popularly known for dropping Dragon Spear, Rune Spear, Rune Scimitar, Clue scroll 3 level and others. However, some of these items are meant only for the members. Iron Dragon in level 189 would have several drops like the Dragon Plateskirt, Dragon Med Helm, Dragon Platelegs and others. You would want to wear the Anti-dragon fire shields. Using Magic is the best way killing these Runescape Monster.

There are several Runescape Monsters and could be at times used at quests. You would have to kill these monsters. So, find them, talk, and the possibilities are simply endless. At times, Jagex makes usage of Monsters at various holiday celebrations. On the Easter, loads of rabbits are found to be hopping around.

For killing the Runescape Monster, the slayer skill needs to be used. This would give an access to all monsters present in the Runescape. Moreover, it would give loads of experience. If 85 level Slayer is available then you would an access to the Abyssal Demon. The beast could probably drop down the Abyssal Whips that are worth about 1.5 million gold! Therefore, you can understand how well the Slayer skill can probably pay out.

Pest Control is a great place full of fun where the members can train themselves. It’s the minigame that is filled with Runescape Monster. You can probably train there without worrying about loosing goods or dieing. On killing a Runescape monster, you will earn a few points when enough number of points are collected then you would go into “greenâ€Â. This means you would be winning tickets. The more points you have collected, more tickets you will win. These tickets could be used for purchasing various things at the stores. Minigame could be easily found at Void Knight’s Outpost. One can reach there by taking a boat from Sarim docks.

Runescape monsters could be found across the Runescape. Right from bottom of Kharidian desert to top of the Miscellania also up to Feldip hills. The Runescape Monsters could be found all around. Next time, if you happen to bang into a rock make sure whether it is a rock as it could be Rock Crab. If you think that you just saw Gargoyle moving about then probably it did. Enjoy playing Runescape with the Runescape monsters.

Runescape BH Bounty Hunter H E R O

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Beginners' Guide, Runescape Economy, Runescape Hunter, Runescape on youtube

From Bronze to Rune to God, Armor makes the game interesting. Bronze is the cheapest and weakest armor that you can get. Rune on the other hand, is one of the best. Both in Free to play and pay to play. Although there are better armors out there, Rune is the most popular. Because of its cheap price, its availability, and its power, Rune is considered a favorite among most people. Some of these “better armors” include Dragon, God, and Gilded. Some armors are not for protection, however, but more decorative. Such as castle wars armor. Very pretty, and One of them looks a lot like dragon armor trimmed in blue, though its almost worthless.

Not all armors are made of metal. Some are made of leather, dragon hide, or even cloth. Many items we think of are in fact armor that we don’t think is armor. Gloves and boots are armor. Shields are armor as well. Granite is a popular armor. It’s very expensive and very strong.

Armor is different for each type of player. I will list some of the armors and whom they are for.

Armor for warriors include: Bronze, Iron, Khazard, Steel, Black, Mithril (or mith for short), Temple Initiate Armor, Adamant, Proselyte Armor, Rune, Granite, Dragon, Crystal, Barrows, and Lunar.

Armor for Mages: Elemental, Splitbark, Mystical Robes, and Ghost robes.

Armor for Rangers: Leather, Hardened Leather, Studded Leather, Snakeskin Armor, Green Dragonhide, Blue Dragonhide, and Black Dragonhide.

Some decorative armor’s are: Golden Helmet. Spiny Helmet, Bearhead, Desert Disguise, Chompy Hats, Pirate Hats, Highwayman Masks, Cavaliers, Berets & Headbands, Bunny Ears, Halloween Masks, Party Hats, Santa Hats, Chef’s Hats, and Eye Patches.

These are just some examples of the many different armors out in the huge world of Runescape. Runescape has many different types of armor to offer. For members, the selection is ever growing. When every new item comes out, they are cheap. But as in real life, if you will get it and hold it for awhile, it will eventually be worth a lot of money, especially if it is not circulated as much, and its a one time get.

Let’s talk more about Granite Armor. Most armor consists of the Plate Body, Plate Legs, A helmet, a shield, and a sword. Granite only offers you the shield, helmet, body, and legs. The legs are dropped by Skeletal Wyverns, The shield is dropped by Troll Generals, Ice trolls, and Ice troll runts, the helmet is dropped by the Terror Dogs, and the body is available from the Barbarian assault mini-game.

Granite armor requires 50 Strength and 50 Defense to equip it. Other than Range and Summoning, it is actually a little bit less strong than Rune, but still has higher defense stats. Granite armor is also known for being much heavier than other pieces of equipment.

Granite armour lowers your Magic by 50 and your ranging by 38. Nevertheless, its defense bonuses are +269 on ranging, +124 on summoning, and in the hundreds on the attacks. It is indeed the best armor to fight rangers.

The prices for Granite armor are as follows,
Granite helm: 255,000gp – 283,000gp
Granite body: 163,000gp – 182,000gp
Granite legs: 1,122,000gp – 1,242,000gp
Granite shield: 69,000gp – 78,000gp

These are the market prices; you may be able to get it cheaper, if you have someone that really wants to get rid of it. These prices seem expensive, but if you compare them to dragon…

Dragon med helm: 80,020gp – 88,450gp
Dragon sq shield: 661,000gp – 731,000gp
Dragon chain body: 9,742,000gp – 10,768,000gp
Dragon platelegs: 920,000gp – 1,020,000gp
Dragon full helm: 42,119,193gp – 46,552,793gp
Dragon plateskirt: 160,000gp – 174,000gp
Dragon boots: 329,000gp – 364,000gp

As you can see, Runescape Armor offers you all kinds of endless choices for happiness. From the nooby bronze, to the best-known dragon, all the way to granite, and then back over to decorative armor you will want to get all you can.

Eulogy for a Forgotten Hero

Posted by: igsky2  //  Category: runescape, Runescape Economy, Runescape Guide

he sun rises in the east. As with all days, the light arrives on the cobbles and roofs of Varrock with a dusky green pallor, having travelled through the haze of Morytania. My father opens a sleepy curtain to the Varrock morning and spies a stray dog, its green-haloed head lifted and sniffing the air, picking out its acrid smells.

A comforting trickle of tea flows down Wally’s throat as he watches the dog. Fingers rearrange around the teacup, spreading its heat to cold tips and numb knuckles.

A knock at the door nudges Wally from this half-slumber, and a piece of paper slips hurriedly under it. The deliverer’s legs scamper away and past the window, where Wally glimpses him: a young boy tearing round with a broad smile and a leather pouch of coins in his grip.

This had been the routine for the past few days; each morning, around six, the same boy would push a new sheet of paper under his door, scurrying away to – he imagined – place a newly-acquired pouch of coins under his pillow and sleep on it, dreaming of money piles and a scrappy ledger filled with tallies.

The sheet of paper, this morning, has the word Gabindo on it.

With the cup of tea still radiating in his palm, he walks the paper over to the mantelpiece and places it with the others that he has collected over the week, mumbling the strange words to a tune he had long forgotten: Carlem, Aber, Camerinthum, Purchai, Gabindo.

These anonymous deliveries are now accepted into his daily routine; sitting flushly between the morning tea and the goodbye kiss on my mother’s sleeping cheek. My father performs the latter and leaves the house for what will soon become the Varrock Sewers.

he sewer had been under construction for two years, the plans changing four or five times as King Botolph revised their purpose. A sewer system designed for the Palace ballooned into a sewer system for the entire city. Wally was there at every stage, unquestioningly furthering the dark tunnels underneath Varrock, hand raised whenever overtime volunteers were called for.

ally works steadily at the wall, levering out rocks and staggering under their weight as he carries them to a mine cart. The thickness of the air makes his lungs heavy and he wheezes under the exertion. It is this thick, miasmic dust that no doubt killed my father. For now, he battles through it, lifting the pickaxe to his grasp and taking an arcing swing at the wall. Unconsciously he coughs those strange words as he hacks.

“Carlemâ€Â.

A hard rock is hit and sparks.

“Aberâ€Â.

A stroke finds purchase behind it.

“Camerinthumâ€Â.

He yanks it out.

“Purchaiâ€Â.

Another arcing swing comes at the wall, spinning a boulder out of the wall. It trundles harmlessly away, but from the space where it came shoots a bolt of light. Wally edges in to spy through the hole that the boulder has left.

There is activity on the other side. At first my father’s view is limited to the metallic sheen of armour, twisting this way and that, allowing Wally to pick out the blemishes in it where dust has caked. With a clang of metal the armour moves aside and the view is clearer.

A warrior is battling two hulking men, but ‘men’ seems too loose a description, as they are huge. Their skin – and again ‘skin’ feels ill-chosen – looks like wood, with lichen covering near every inch. As the eye travels up, past bark-like clothing and crushing clubs, the face can be seen. The sad eyes, the sunken cheeks and the long beard – the entire face seems to be that of an old man – until the details begin to clear. The sad eyes, layered with cataracts, are in fact covered with the spores of some unknown fungus; the sunken cheeks are knots within wood; the long beard moves and shudders with its own ecosystem of bugs, creatures and plantlife.

The warrior kicks a giant with a timely boot, turning round to find my father’s eyes on him.

“Stand back, soldier,†the warrior says.

My father was a timid man and generally did whatever was asked of him.

A sword comes clattering through the hole, spinning against the scree of rocks on the floor. A metal fist is next, gripping rocks and pulling them out and over to the warrior’s side, widening the shaft desperately so that he can attempt to pass through. No more than two grasps of rock are made before a club, swung down with inhuman momentum, crushes the warrior’s helmet and leaves him prostrate on the floor.

Instinctively, my father is up and away. He is running, splashing into pools of water and stepping on the sewer spiders.

“Carlem.â€Â

Still he is running, nudging the mining engineer’s table, knocking plans to the floor.

“Aber.â€Â

Further he runs, the screech of rats in his ears.

“Camerinthum.â€Â

Now he is climbing, the ladder cold and solid in his hands; rungs are missed and feet flail, but the grip holds firm. He is panting now, the first hurried puffs of hyperventilation.

“Purchai.â€Â

Finally, he is up and out, on the surface and the city is empty.

My father had no stronger fear than being the cause of another’s pain. It paralysed him. He was silent for a week after dropping me in the redberry bushes, assuming he had been the cause of some terrible life-long impairment or damage. He was wrong, of course, but the fear remained.

Wally runs home. In the panic of the moment he instinctively chooses my mother as the authority, the person of importance who can bellow the warning from the nearest rooftop. The choice was not altogether foolish – my mother, even now, has a shout that could rouse Guthix from a slumber.

It had not occurred to my father that the journey from the giants – the splashing, the running, the climbing and the waves of panic – had all been done with the sword of the warrior gleaming in his right hand.

n the southern reaches of Varrock, where the poverty of the resurgent city can be seen most starkly, Wally sped round the last corner before our house, where my mother no doubt lay asleep with the memory of a kiss still on her cheek.

Moss giants still battling in his mind, my father finds a sight that draws him, stunned, out of the city and to the southern gates.

A demon of the purest red towers above the stone circle of Varrock. Black-robed mages scatter at its feet, moving at speeds that contradict their advanced years. The demon wastes no time with pauses. The need for carnage burns in whatever circulatory system the demon has, and it turns its attention to the city, where a host of brutalities await.

But my father stands there. He stands, not cringing in the wheat fields of the Guild of Champions; not panicked behind the door of his home, quieting his wife; my father stands paralysed, the single-minded need to warn everyone of moss giants – moss giants in the sewers of Varrock with crushing, killer clubs – echoing in his brain.

The sword in my father’s right hand shimmers. My father used to mention this moment with a glazed look on his face. He never grew sick of the story.

A fist careers into the pavement but Wally has already skipped away from it, as if the sword was directing his movement with a grace that never returned, much to his chagrin.

“Carlem.â€Â

The words trickle out with every exertion.

“Aber.â€Â

The demon, in that moment arched into the blow, looks down to the figure that has slipped under it.

“Camerinthum.â€Â

The demon growls, and slobber from its maw dribbles down my father’s cloak.

“Purchai.â€Â

Dusted with the years of mining work, scuffed by his labours beneath Varrock, Wally springs from his sheltered position and thrusts the bright sword high.

“Gabindo.â€Â

The thrust cuts into the demon’s waist and slices diagonally, slipping into the ribcage. No blood, no innards come from the demon. Only void greets Wally between the sharp cuts in the demon’s torso.

Wally springs aside as the demon becomes racked with spasms. With a crack of lightning, the blood-red demon is pulled into the void of its own wound and disappears, the blackness slamming shut with a thunderous clap.

My father – who was never ashamed of this moment – passes out on the streets of Varrock, gripping his sword tightly and dreaming of moss giants dancing to a long forgotten tune, singing the words: Carlem, Aber, Camerinthum, Purchai, Gabindo.

Chaos Tunnels: The Hunt for Surok

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Beginners' Guide, Runescape Economy, Runescape Guide, Runescape Hunter, Runescape Powerleveling

It seems that Surok has made a cunning escape from his Varrock Library prison and is intent on continuing his nefarious schemes. He even found time to steal some ancient tomes from the library, unearthing dark secrets and powerful magicks.

It is clear that Runescape Surok has plans to control the city of Varrock and it is up to you to stop him! Scuppering Surok may not be as easy as it sounds, however, as he has friends in very, very high places.

Surok was last seen heading east out of Varrock, towards the Chaos Tunnels that were introduced in January.

Have a care when entering the Tunnels, as they are dark and full of creatures – including dragons – that will attack without mercy! Be sure to only take what you are prepared to lose, for there are worse things than simple orks in the dark places of this world.

Summary

Where to start Chaos Tunnels: The Hunt for SurokStart by speaking to Surok by the statue of Saradomin, east of Varrock
Requirements to complete Chaos Tunnels: The Hunt for Surok:
What Lies Below
Level 44 Slayer
A hefty Combat level would be helpful.
Access to:

A new boss fight in the Chaos Tunnels which can be repeated daily
A hefty chunk of Slayer XP and guaranteed Summoning charms for those who defeat him!

In other news…

As a result of recent feedback, players can now take priest robes and gowns into Bounty Hunter. These items offer small Prayer bonuses that players might wish to make use of.

We’ve fixed an issue with the Assist System, so that runecrafters will be able to get ‘double’ runes if the assister has the necessary Runecrafting level.

The Friends and Ignore interfaces have been looked at and adjusted to make them more readable. These were slightly darker than intended.

We’ve been looking at a few smaller changes that will enhance your gameplay and you can expect more of these in the future:

  • When reopening the Smithing interface, it will remember where you last scrolled to, similar to the bank interface.
  • Romeo in Varrock will no longer interrupt you if you’re passing through. You can still stop by, have a chat and see if you can cheer him up!

Runescape Armour

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Beginners' Guide, Runescape Community, Runescape Economy, Runescape Guide, Runescape Help

Treasure Trail Armors

Hove you ever wondered how to get a piece of fancy-looking armor with trimming on it, or how much these armors may cost? These treasures are said to be rare, since there’s only a possibility of obtaining a piece after completing a Members-Only Treasure Trail.

Some Basic Info

All of the special armors, known as “Trimmed Armor” are rewards from a finished RuneScape Treasure Trail. Different enemies sometimes drop Clue Scrolls, which when read will point you to another location or character in the game. Depending on the difficulty of the enemy you receive the clue from, the Treasure Trail may be more difficult, but the reward will be greater.

Remember, monsters will not always drop clues, so it may take quite a long time to find one. But, it’s always a great surprise to find a Clue Scroll after defeating lots of enemies, and then to find a great reward can be even better!

All About the Armors

Now that you know that Trimmed Armors are the rare rewards from Treasure Trails, you probably want to know a little more about them. There are 3 different types of Trimmed Armor, each one made out of one type of metal, with a special trimming around it:

  • (T) – This means that the armor is trimmed or Tinted in a lighter shade of metal than the main armor.
  • (G) – This is also known as gold or Gilded armor, meaning that the main piece of armor is trimmed in gold.
  • (Gu), (S), (Z) – These are the different god or Divine armors, including Guthix, Saradomin, and Zamorak.

Only 3 different types of armor are trimmed, which are Black, Adamantite, and Rune. Each of these metals can have either regular Trimming, or Gold Trimming, but only Rune can be a Divine type of armor. There also is no difference in the armor stats compared to the regular un-trimmed armors, and they give no added bonuses.

Treasure Trail armors can be worn by both Members and Free-Players, but it can only be found by Members that have completed a Treasure Trail. This means that the only way a Free-Player can obtain them would be to trade with a Member on a Free-Play server.

Trimmed Armor

The most basic and inexpensive kind of Treasure Trail armor is Tinted or Trimmed armor. The armor itself has been trimmed in a lighter shade of metal, such as Adamantite with a lighter green trimming. Goblins, Guars and Ice Warriors will drop clues that sometimes lead you to regular Trimmed armor, but there are many others.

In other news…

Hunter pet variations have been added to many places in RuneScape. Monkeys, squirrels, raccoons and geckos can now be found in several different shapes, colours and sizes, so get hunting!

The Party Room chest has been changed to better reflect the value of the items that are in it. It now checks the items against the Grand Exchange market price, so you should find a more accurate drop party value in banks or the Party Room.

Having looked at feedback on the Forums, we have changed the ibis, granite crab and granite lobster so that they give a small amount of Fishing experience when catching fish – a nice little bonus, we think you’ll find!

A few graphical issues popped up last week: a pier in Neitiznot disappeared and a small hole opened up on Karamja! Guthix has restored the balance and these have been repaired.

Finally, a change has been made to the Culinaromancer’s chest and the gnome ingredients shop at the Grand Tree. Item prices in these shops should be more attractive.
