Runescape Rare Items

Posted by: cool  //  Category: runescape items

Rare items you say? Yep, it’s true; there are items in Runescape that are very rare and worth millions of gold pieces. Take for example a few years back, when the good old Santa Hats were dropped (believe it or not, I had a character back then). They were being dropped all over the place, and were only worth 30,000 GP each. Now look at them, going for millions!

There were also an abundance of other items dropped on special occasions, for example, Easter Eggs on Easter 2002, and the brilliant Scythe on Halloween 2003. Those were the days…

For the more recent players though, there isn’t going to be a chance to obtain a very valuable item anymore and be able to sell it a few years later. That’s because Jagex have changed the way these holiday items are given out, and I don’t think they’ll carry the same value now as they have been made non-tradeable etc.

(Gosh, this reminds me, I need to figure out the username to my character with the Scythe!)

There isn’t much more to say about Runescape Rare Items really, so here’s a little FAQ:

Q: Will there still be holiday item drops?
A: There aren’t item ‘drops’ exactly. Instead, NPCs are apparently going to visit RuneScape during the holidays and hand out a special item. These characters stay in RuneScape for a week or two and will freely hand out holiday items to any player that wants one.

Q: Why did Jagex stop doing those original drops on holidays?
A: Holiday drops were stopped after the “Halloween 2003 Debacle.” A great deal of people complained about not getting a Halloween Scythe, and Jagex decided not to have another item drop after that.

Q: How do I get a Holiday Item?
A: In order to get a Holiday item, you need to trade from another player. All tradeable holiday items are quite expensive. Scythes and Bunny Ears are not tradeable, and only people who managed to find one on that specific Holiday have one.

Q: What were holiday drops like?
A: In past holidays, special holiday items would be dropped all over RuneScape in random places and different times during the day. Usually there would be several drops, and people would be running around trying to pick one up.

I’m sure Jagex will have their normal events on certain holidays such as Easter and Christmas ” enjoy! ” May be you can get some fun, exciting items from them.

Runescape Holiday Items

Posted by: cool  //  Category: runescape items

There is a wide variety of Runescape holiday items, from a party hat to a yoyo to a chicken suit. Let’s run over a quick inventory of the past few years’ holiday items.

In the year of 2001, holiday items were of a complete surprise. Items were just randomly dropped from the sky. Santa brought us Christmas crackers full of surprises. When you used a Christmas cracker with another player, you received a party hat. The party hat complete set is worth around a billion gp today. On Halloween, Runescape decided to drop a pumpkin for all to see.

Year 2002 was not much different. The people expected the drops and were awaiting them. The Easter bunny dropped an Easter egg, Halloween brought us scary Halloween masks that looked just like a dragon. On Christmas, none other than the Santa hat. The Santa hat is well known today to be worth millions of gp. After 2002, the drops were no longer tradable, and you could only have one. People began hording their holiday items knowing the price would soon begin to rise. Soon as expected, the prices of the items two years before slowly increased. -

The year of 2003 brought us bunny ears and a scythe. The bunny ears were the very first holiday item to become untradeable, and the scythe to look cool. Year 2004 only brought us a yo-yo but it could do many things, like walk, play, loop, and crazy.

2005 changed the holiday world once and for all. No longer were drops in play. Now in game characters gave the items to the players. The Easter bunny decided to give you Rubber Chickens where you could “whack” another player, but only after you gave out Easter eggs to other players. On April 4th, the eggs melted into chocolate dust.

I remember the Easter party well, everyone would get into lines, and we would form a train of “whacking”. On Halloween, you had to scare children wandering around in Lumbridge. To do this, you had to scare, or insult zombies so they would loose their head. Then you would show the child the zombie head and they would be scared into giving you candy. If you had coins or candy at that time, you could choose treat instead, and they would say nice things about you. The Christmas even was huge. You had to help fairies in the workshop make toys. You were rewarded with Scarves, Wooly hats, and Marionettes.

After 2005, it sparked a new way of doing holiday events. From then till now, you have to do little quests to get your items. 2006 gave us Easter rings that would turn you into an egg, a full body skeleton suit, reindeer antlers, and a wintumber tree.

2007 gave us a snow globe of castle wars for Christmas, and a chicken suit that will make you “fly” when using the flap emote with it on. Runescape holiday items 2008 - 2008 is still coming, but this year’s (easter holiday item 2008) easter event was an Easter cape that turns you into a chocolate egg that you will come out of.

Holiday events are loads of fun and you get some really cool things from them. I’m sure most of you are wishing you were there for the 2001 holiday drop, right? Your not alone, I’m guessing most of Runescape wishes that they had party hats, Santa hats, pumpkins, and all the goodies at their disposal. Can you imagine hording like 100 part hats and Santa hats? Oh what a dream come true! Trust me, it’s not very cool in the beginning when everyone has it, but a couple years later when your whacking people with a rubber chicken and they ask where to get it, its very rewarding.

Abyssal Whip

(Whew) Well, that’s most of them. Slashing weapons can be a great tool to keep with you on your explorations into unknown places in Runescape. If you were to come across a spider web, or perhaps some vines and could not get through, you could then slash them with a slashing weapon and bam, you can continue your journey.

There are many Runescape Slashing Weapons out there, not just the ones I mentioned. Also, remember that that order could change at any moment, and there ARE better Runescape Slashing Weapons out there. Runescape is constantly updating, changing, and growing. Nothing stays the same for long.

Now I am sure you are wondering why I have it so that a Dragon Halberd is stronger than an Abyssal Whip, This is because of the Slash bonuses. The Abyssal Whips slash bonus is +82; However, The Dragon Halberd’s slash bonus is +95. This is why I have listed them oddly. When you think of mithril and bronze, I am sure you think mithril is stronger. This is not always the case. A Mithril dagger has +5 slash while a Bronze Battle Axe has +6.

As you can see, there are many possibilities out there in the world of Runescape. The weapon plays a big part of what’s the best, but this is not to say the holder does not play any part.
If two guys (or girls) were to fight using Rune Scimitars, and say, one just had enough stats to use it, while the other has 60 attack and 60 strength. Who do you think would win? Well, most likely the second person, but say the first was wearing full rune. Then the odds would be in his favor. The player does indeed have a big role in what weapon is best. One could argue all day of which is best, because there really isn’t a “best weapon”.

I hope you enjoyed this and learned a little more about Runescape.

Best Runescape Range Weapons

Posted by: cool  //  Category: runescape items

There are many different types of Runescape Range Weapons, from bows and arrows to throwing axes to crossbows. I personally do not think there is really a “best” weapon, but rather a weapon that is best for a person.

Over the years, I have heard numerous arguments over which weapons were the best. If they would stop looking at the over all best, which is impossible to call a weapon, they would be in much better shape. Let me explain. Say you have a new person just starting out; they have trained their range to level 5. You give them an Oak Bow and some steel arrows, and then to them, the Oak Bow is the best weapon. You can apply this is any weapon. So the next time you are in an argument over which is better, use what I just said. You will win the argument for sure, ha-ha.

In my opinion, the best type of Bow is the Crystal Bow. It is 80% more accurate than a Magic Longbow, it hit higher than Rune Arrows, and it does not use any arrows! This will save you a lot of money. The down side to this one is it does not have a special attack.

If I were going to pick the best Throwing Axe, I would have to say Rune. They have a special attack that will allow you to attack many monsters at once in a multi-combat zone.

As for the best Crossbow, I would have to say the Rune Crossbow, It does not have a specialty like the Dorgeshunn Crossbow does, but as it requires level 61 range, I would have to believe it hits better.

But again, these are my choices; they can be different for anyone. Here is another idea for you. Let’s say that you have to do a quest. This quest requires a certain type of Throwing Axes. In this case, we will say that they are Bronze. So then, wouldn’t Bronze Throwing Axes be the Best Runescape Range Weapons for that quest? I believe they would be.

I was listening to a player, he told me his top 5 Runescape Range Weapons. I will tell them to you.

5. Magic Shortbow because it can hit quite big with a high range level, it is also very cheap.

4. Karils Crossbow because it is very fast, it can hit big, and its not to expensive.

3. Crystal Bow because it can hit hard and fast, but it is only 3rd because it requires a quest and it can get very expensive.

2. Dark Bow because its special can be incredibly powerful, sadly it is slow and very expensive.

1. Rune Crossbow because the bolts can hit 50+, it is cheap, and average in speed. In addition to those, you can also wield a shield.

It is fun to hear what players think are the best, because each person will give you a different conclusion.

There are many different ways to rate the “best” weapons, but there is no way to call one the over all best. If you have your own opinion on what is the best, feel free to share them. Who knows what works for you might work for someone else as well? Happy Playing!

Best Runescape Dragon Weapons

Posted by: cool  //  Category: runescape items

There is a wide array of Runescape dragon weapons. But which ones are the best? Many could argue that one is better than the other, but it really comes down to the situation. First, let me tell you what the weapons are.

Dragon Longsword (D long) - One of the most popular dragon weapons out there.
Dragon Battleaxe (D B Axe, or D Battle) - Less popular yet still well known.
Dragon Dagger (Dragon Dagger, ddp, dds or dd+) - Very popular, especially poisoned.
Dragon Mace (D Mace) - You don’t see very many people with these.
Dragon Halberd (D Hally) - Somewhat popular yet still hard to find.
Dragon Scimitar (D Scimmy) - A much known weapon.
Dragon Spear (D Spear) - Hard to find a person with it.
Dragon 2-Handed Sword (D 2H) - Quite popular.

Now then, which one is the best? Well, some say that the Dragon 2-Handed Sword is the best. Is it? Or perhaps the Dragon Halberd is the Best Runescape Dragon Weapon. Everyone has their preferences. Some prefer obby weapons, and others prefer other weapons. Every player has their opinion, so can there ever be a best weapon in any category? So now we need to look at why.

If you were to go by prices, then the Dragon Woodcutting Axe (also known as the D axe.) would be the one. Priced at around 2,335,702gp! The reason it is like this is because it is a rare drop on monsters. Next in line would be the Dragon two-handed sword at a whopping 1,367,559gp. To save time, I will make a list in order containing the dragon weapons prices.

Dragon halberd - 232,000gp
Dragon Battle axe - 150,781
Dragon Scimitar - 99,400
Dragon Longsword 98,795
Dragon Mace - 39,624
Dragon Spear - 38,793
Dragon Dagger 30,164
Dragon Arrow - 5,698 (each)
Dragon Dart - 2337 (each)

These are the low-end market prices to this date. Of course, the dragon longsword would sell for 100k, but as I’ve said many times, the market chances almost daily. Nothing stays the same in Runescape for long.

So what are the best Runescape dragon weapons? You can’t really say. For an archer, they would of course be the arrows and darts. However, what about you? What is your best Runescape dragon weapon? Could it be the dragon long sword? Maybe it’s the Dragon spear. The Dragon Scimitar is a good weapon, but is it the best? No one can really say. Though the Dragon two-handed sword is referred by many people as the best dragon weapon, is this true? Perhaps it is, and perhaps its not. It all depends on the player!

So now, when you’re arguing with your friend about who has the better weapon in Runescape, use this against him or her, say, “yours might be good for you, but mine is BEST for me! Then you have won the argument. Because it IS the best to you. So after reading all this, is your mind still made up that the weapon you think is the best, is truly the best? Alternatively, have you changed your opinion and now you think that your weapon is the best to you?

Runescape Halloween Masks

Posted by: cool  //  Category: runescape items

Runescape Halloween masks are the second wearable holiday item that was ever dropped in the wonderful world of Runescape. Instead of being dropped inside of an item like the Runescape party hats were, these were just dropped by them selves. The players of Runescape were aware of how much these masks would be worth, and decided to horde them and collect many “sets” which consisted of red, green, and blue masks. These are very valuable but not nearly as valuable as the party hats, because the party hats were in fewer numbers, and not as many people got them.

The true names of these masks are green halloween mask, Red halloween mask, and Blue halloween mask. They have a range of prices to match their range of colors. I’m guessing the whole Halloween mask set would be in the billions, but per mask is pretty high as well. Ranging from around 12 million gp to around 19 million gp per mask.

The Green h’ween mask is the cheapest of the 3. It is the most common mask, and its not very rare, as far as rare items go.

The Blue h’ween mask is priced around 13 million and it’s the middle priced mask. Its more rare than the green one, and look great on a person.

The Red h’ween mask is priced around 18 million gp. It would seem like red is the most common color that you think of when thinking about dragons, but this case, its the most rare.

The Runescape Halloween Masks are very cool and a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe. Of course, as most items dropped around the first years, they have no purpose. They don’t change your stats, they don’t do a cool emote; they don’t do much of anything. It’s obvious that the holiday items have increased their function ability since the first year. Perhaps they don’t do anything to that aspect, but they are worth getting just to show off. Don’t you want to be that person walking to a Halloween costume party with a Red h’ween mask on? I can’t see anyone who wouldn’t.

Best Runescape Melee Weapons

Posted by: cool  //  Category: runescape items

If you are looking for the Best Runescape Melee Weapons, then look no further. I’m about to show you what are considered the Best Runescape Melee Weapons.

For those free to play members, Rune is the best. There are three different weapons that are always being argued are the best. These are, Rune Scimitar, Rune 2-handed sword, and the Rune Battle Axe. Rune Scimitars are fast, accurate and can pack a punch. Rune 2-handed swords are slow, you cannot wear a shield with them, but they make up for this with their strong hits. The Rune Battle Axe is in between these. Slower than the Rune Scimitar but faster than the Rune 2-handed sword. It is the same with the damage. You CAN wear a shield with the Rune Battle Axe.

Best in the Dragon category has also been argued. I believe the two favorite ones are the Dragon Long Sword and the Dragon Dagger Poisoned. You do not see many people walking around with Dragon Scimitars or Dragon Maces. These are very costly could be one reason.

Of course, the “Best Runescape Melee Weapons” differ from person to person. If you have someone with low attack, The Granite Mual might be the best for him or her. Alternatively, maybe someone likes speed, so his or her best would be the Abbysal Whip. So, if you were to proclaim your weapon the best weapon, would it really be the best? Maybe to you, but to someone else, it would not be. To a person off of Tutorial Island, an Iron dagger would be the best weapon.

So after realizing what the Best Runescape Melee Weapons are, let’s see if you can find the best one for you. If your new, try to gain some attack and strength levels. Once you have them, try getting some Black weapons. Then on to Mith. One your at adamant you have a pretty good level. Then get it to 40 and fork out the cash for a rune scimitar. Now, if your member I would work on your strength. A Granite Mual use to be, and still is one of my favorite weapons.

There are many many weapons proclaimed as the best. However, I will indeed mention one called the Saradomin Sword. It has also been called the SS. It is a beautiful design; its hits are quite good. However, it’s a sword version of the Whip. Its +82 slash and strength and +60 crush. When you use the Special Attack, it drains the whole bar. It is a very strong sword. Is it the best? Doubt it.

There are hundreds of different weapons out there. In addition, Jagex is always adding to it. So don’t be so quick to judge one weapon better than another does. It really depends on the situation. Obviously if you have a dragon long sword and a bronze short sword, the dragon sword is the best weapon in that situation.

Now that you have a different view on the best weapons, why not go out there and see if you can find the best weapon for you, instead of the all around best weapon. It will be a much easier task than finding a weapon that everyone can proclaim the best. Unless you have super awesome mind control powers, Haha. Happy Playing!

Gnomic Negotiations

Posted by: igsky2  //  Category: runescape, runescape items, runescape news

This humorous text dates from a mere few years ago, when gnomes and the people of Misthalin were first beginning to interact. Before the days of the gnome pilots and the gnome ambassadors that have spread gnomish culture across the lands of RuneScape, we had little to do with this enigmatic race, whose humour was so foreign to us.

Judging from this text, it is little surprise that it took us so long to establish correct relations with the friendly race.

n the time before the Grand Tree came into being, the gnomes were planning to co-exist with the humans. For if you trace humanity back far enough, you will find that these two races share a common genealogy. Just don’t tell some humans that - they tend to be a bit touchy about any comparisons with their vertically challenged counterparts.

The gnomes, for their part, are touchy about this touchiness.

“They just don’t like us ‘cos they think we’re short,” said one gnome when questioned, “which is wrong, ‘cos we’re not short at all. They’re just too tall. It’s a waste of perfectly good skin.”

Gnomes have always been sensitive about their height - or lack of it - and some say that their famous sense of humour is a defense mechanism born out of insecurity.

We asked Dr. Darius Gnomalus, Head of Psychology at the Gnome Institute of Knowledge, about this. He disagreed vehemently.

“You think I have to make up for my lack of height with cheap gags? You’re crazy as a coconut. We gnomes can be very serious individuals, you know.”

It was at this point that Dr.Darius’s head exploded, sending tiny pieces of gnome everywhere. I recoiled in horror, wondering how such a terrible thing could have happened. Only then did I discover that this was not the real Dr. Darius, but a synthetic model. The good doctor now appeared from behind a potted plant, convulsing with laughter.

“I’m sorry, but you should have seen your face. Absolutely priceless! And I’m a good ventriloquist, yes? You big ‘uns are so easy to fool. Maybe the air is too thin up there - not enough oxygen to the brain, perhaps?”

At this point, I terminated the interview.

t was only after storming out in disgust that it suddenly hit me. Maybe the problem wasn’t with gnomes, but with humans. Perhaps we do take ourselves too seriously. Maybe it was time to put the humour back into human.

I decided to lighten the tension. I resolved to buy a custard pie, and splat it into the face of the next gnome that I met - just to show that us big ‘uns can have fun, too. I would forge a new era of man-gnome relations by being an ambassador of silliness.

Which is exactly what I did. Arming myself with the most custardy flan available, I headed off towards the Grand Tree. Standing at the bottom was a rather funny-looking gnome, who was obviously just minding his own business.

Having found my target, I let fly with the pie, covering his gnomic features with a thick layer of gunk. I burst out laughing, but the gnome remained eerily silent. I thought I’d better explain myself.

“I’m sorry, friend, just having a bit of fun. What’s your name anyway?”

“Glough,” replied the gnome earnestly. “My name is Glough.”

What are virtual assets?

Virtual assets consist of in game currencies, equipments, armors, or other items. They are just anything that can be gained in game and are able to be traded between players.
Such as Runescape Gold, Runescape moneyRunescape Items
Is it legal to trade virtual assets with real world money?

Most game publishers have claimed their ownership of virtual assets. While players should own usufruct to virtual assets which they obtained in game. Because they spend time or money to obtain them. So it should be legal to trade your virtual assets for anything. (For example: Ya ,I bought runescape money. But I just bought the usufruct of those runescape gold. I never claimed ownership of runescape gold or runescape items by this transaction. It’s 100% reasonable.)
