A Myth or Reality of Runescape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Tips

Recently, armies of individuals have thought that they can “Cheat” Runescape to gain unfair advantages over other gamers who use the game. While there are disputes about what the term “Cheating” means, corresponding to TheFreeDictionary(.com), it means ” To act deceitfully; employ fraud.” So, how would this rank against the bulk of players thoughts on cheating?
The virtually commons case of cheating on Runescape is scamming; this is when a player makes an unfair trade with another, for good takes away an item which they offered to repay or not paying a person for a function that they have complete for them. Scamming is a momentous problem in Runescape as even with the extensive event amount of fool proof methods to end best-known scamming ways, there is always alternative way to get about them thanks to the devilish brains of role players, where word of mouth locomotes as speedy as a bullet.

Jagex, the society who have compiled Runescape has largely advertized that they will not support scamming in any way and those who wish to do so will be cast out from the game for good. However, this does make one wonder, whilst Runescape accepted over 100,000 scamming reports last year, only 9,284 hackers were banished (A individual source call). Why do they only caution people when 99% of those infracted redo their crime and are resultingly shunned.

Runescape Money Making Tips

This are money making tips for Runescape.

For anyone who plays runescape (RS) heres some money making tips.

Money making tips- If you’re a member get your crafting really high and make ruby or diamond amulets. Then get your magic lvl really high to enchant them to make strength amulets (from ruby amulets) or power amulets (from diamond amulets). Sell them to non-members because they can’t enchant and sell the 4 5-10k each. You’ll make a big profit if you do this.

If you want a lot of money (gp) and your not a high lvl at most skills here a good money making tip. First get all the money you have and buy cooked lobs for about 45gp each at the store spend all your money to get a lot of lobs. Then you note all of them and go to a world with a lot of players. Sell them all for about 200gp each keep doing this and you’ll be rich.

This is another way to make money without having high leveled skills. First complete the Rune Mysteries quest to be able to rune craft. Then get 4k rune essence or more and sell them for 90gp each. This will get you money and mining experience.

If you’re high leveled in combat go kill moss giants you will get big bones which you should store in your bank. They also drop good items like gems which you should make into rings and sell. You can also get runes and weapons and armor which you can also sell. You can get your combat level up and also get some cash. If you want you can also kill ice giants and hill giants they have big bones and drop good items too.

Go to Port Sarim and take good range, mage, or melee armor. Go to the entrance of Port Sarim and go east if your facing Port Sarim. You will find earth, air, water, and fire, wizards here. Kill them to get runes and talismans sell the runes to the rune shop close by and sell the talismans to player for 500gp each.

Go to Port Sarim’s jewelry shop and buy a lot of jewelry of what ever kind they have most of. Then go to another world and sell them if they don’t have a lot there. Keep doing this to get a ton of cash. But this may take a while so you might have to keep trying.

Go to Al-Kharid and go to the gem shop and buy a lot of uncut gems. Cut them and make them into amulets. Sell them all to get a lot of money or enchant them to make more money.

How to make a lot of Money in RS

Friendly Greetings! I am back once again to tell you the secrets of making a lot of money in Runescape. As you know, making money in Runescape can be hard work, especially if you are using an out dated method. Some people might tell you that you have to be a certain level to make millions of gold. The truth is you can make loads of money at level 3! There are tons of ways to make money in this game. All you have to do is work.

Since I am on the subject of making money at level 3, let me go ahead and tell you a method that can be started as soon as you get off Tutorial Island. After you land in the Lumbridge Castle, go kill some cows and pick up their hides. Then, go bank the hides. You can bank them in the Lumbridge Castle bank or in the dessert. Killing the cows will also give you some good experience points. This will help you level up so you can move on to other methods. After you get about 100 go to the Grand Exchange and sell them for the minimum price. The minimum price right now is about 104 gp each. (These prices change practically daily, so to know the exact price you will have to go see it for yourself.) If you have 100 cowhides and you sell them for 104 Gold each, you will have made 10,400 gp. That’s pretty good for 4 trips to the bank, isn’t it? If you saved them up and you collected 1,000 cowhides, you could make 104,000 gp.

Make a lot of Money in Runescape
Now, that’s good money to start you out in the beginning, but getting 1000 cow hides takes time, and 104,000 gp is not a lot. So, if you are a higher level, I suggest doing the Rune Mysteries quest so you can mine Pure Essence. They sell for around 139 each. It is not a lot more, but if you mine 1000 of those and sell at 139 each, you will make 139,000 gp. It’s about 30,000 more gold for a little more time. Of course making millions with this way, or cowhides as well, will take time. Any method will take time. There is no instant method to get rich, they all take hard work.

For Pay to Play members, you could go pick Flax. They only sell at 80 GP minimum price. This is because Flax is faster to pick and bank than Cowhides or Pure Essence. 80 GP is not enough money at all. That’s why you add another step. Spin the Flax into Bow Strings. These sell for a minimum of 167 GP each. If you have 1000 Bow Strings, that’s 167,000 GP. Still a lot of work, but you will get a lot of money as well.

Now, if you want a little bit more money for your work, chop some yews. They sell at a minimum of 440 each. That means 440,000 for 1000 of them. If you want even more money, take those yews and turn them into Yew Longbows. Yew Longbows sell for a whopping 627 each minimum! That’s 627,000 for 1000 of them. It takes awhile to make Yew Longbows, but if you are dedicated to making millions, sell 10,000 of them and then retire. (By the way, 10,000 Yew Longbows = 6,270,000!)

If you want even more money than that, then get out that Dragon Axe and start chopping Magic Trees. Just one Magic Log sells for 1,231 gold! That means if you cut just 1000 of them, you will have 1,231,000! Cut 10,000 and you will have 12,310,000!! Magic trees take a long time to cut. As I have said, if you work hard, you can make millions of gold on Runescape.

Now you know how to make a lot of money in Runescape. It’s easy if you are willing to work for it. Trust me, that Dragon Long Sword is worth all the work. Good luck and happy money making! Haha!

User Friendly Quests In Runescape

User Friendly Quests In Runescape

Runescape quests are one of the more diligent activities that players can participate in, other than the normal course of the game and exploring. Some would have apprehensions taking on these quests, not having the patience to take a while and think of what the actual objectives and items that are being asked, or what task to complete for the entire ordeal.

Runescape quests once interacted with the assigned NPC’s have a very detailed question and answer interface. It covers all the necessary and possible areas for consideration, making the whole interactive thing user-friendly and informative for the benefit of players who may be having trouble understanding the entire scenario. For example, a specific item that is being asked will have underlying question that would be generated as each screen of the conversation is being done. This covers all the necessary things in mind that a player may not understand. This also includes out of topic questions, a sort of humor in a way where a player who asks nonsense questions that may not even pertain to the entire quest.

User-friendliness, especially for first time players is something important. For one, not all people would easily understand how the transition of interacting and understanding the task at hand should be carried out must be done. Another thing is the fact that the quests broaden the possible questions to be asked. This eliminates the need for game administrators to have to interfere and answer queries since the NPC’s are programmed for a generalized background on the matter already.

The general expectations of game administrators with regards to the possible questions to be asked by Runescape players are a conservative approach. While some Runescape players may find it a waste of time, getting detailed information and leaving room for actually finding the items and completing the quests is all that was left uncovered. Such a method is a more alluring way of providing everything that is needed in one sitting, hence one players participate in the quests, all that is left is to properly locate the place where most of the items and special characters in the game can be found.

Again, these quests and mini-games that Runescape offers not only aim to provide more things to do, but to lessen the number of cheaters that have been known to be present in the game. Being kept busy by such activities will render a player preoccupied with such activities, thus making him focus on completing the quests rather than looking for probable Runescape cheats, codes or hacks for the game. With this in mind, such ideas would really keep players busy and eventually leave players wanting to be tagged successful Runescape quest participants rather than Runescape cheaters.

Runescape Auto Fighter

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

If you have ever talked to players in Runescape (and most likely, you have) then I am sure you have heard the term autoer, macro, and bot, so on so fourth. There are no hacks for Runescape, you cannot type in a code and get everything. Sadly, players found a way to cheat. They built macros that will play the game for you. Although there are a lot of them, most are easily detectable, and will get your account banned within the hour. I do not in any way support using macros; in fact, I am completely against them. Anyone who has to cheat for what they want deserve the ban that they will receive.

I am sure many of you are wondering why Jagex bans people for using these bots. Well, the most obvious reason is it is unfair to the rest of the players. Keep in mind however; this is not their only reason. Many of these so-called Runescape Auto Fighters are really just computer viruses called key loggers. These viruses will copy every key you type and send it to the creator of the program. This means that if you log into Runescape with a key logger, then your account is as good as gone. A keylogger can be very dangerous to more than just your account. As I said, it will log EVERY key that you type. So if you buy something with your credit card online, then the maker of the program will have your credit card information.

On January 19 2006, Jagex took a stand against these cheaters and showed them they meant business. They banned 15,000 accounts for using these macros. They also posted on their front page that they can easily detect these bots and it is only a matter of time until you will be banned. Jagex still bans thousands of accounts a month because of these programs. Jagex has built special bots of their own to seek and ban anyone that uses these macros. Although this is an excellent way of stopping botters, they cannot do it on their own. The creators of the bots have built better ones to slip past Jagex. It is only a matter of time till Jagex makes new programs to hunt those, but until then, reporting people you see using macros will greatly help out Jagex.

The Report Abuse button is located at the bottom of your screen. It is not hard to miss, as it is red and says Report Abuse on it. This is one red button that should be touched, Haha. Do not let people cheat, if they do not get caught, they will think it is ok, and it is NOT ok. How would you like to have worked for a week to get full rune, and then a guy got it by cheating? Would not like it a lot I bet.

The Runescape Auto Fighter will “automatically” fight monsters in Runescape. This allows you to leave the computer and do something else. If your account gets banned for cheating, there is no chance of getting it back. Jagex does NOT give you the proof of your cheating. Here is why:

“Our policy has always been that we do not tolerate any form of cheating. We do not ban accounts lightly. Significant evidence is always collected before any action is taken against a player. We will not reveal the evidence that we have collected, since most cheats only want to know the evidence so that they can avoid getting caught the next time.”

As you can see, Jagex does not give any wiggle room when it comes to cheating. Remember, cheaters never win. Mining coal yourself is a much better way. If you do it yourself, you cannot be banned! Then while the thousands of cheaters get banned, you will be making loads of gold.

Runescape Autominer

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Beginners' Guide, Runescape Tips

Have you ever heard about Runescape Autominer’s or Runescape Powerminer’s? Basically, both of these are computer programs that will take control of your mouse and mine rocks in Runescape. It’s a tad scary to think that some strange program will have full control over your mouse, isn’t it? However, you always take a risk when trying to cheat. Ok, let’s not stray from our main subject, Runescape Autominers.

Runescape Autominers can look very useful, but in reality, they usually never work. Runescape Autominers can get your account banned from the game, they could contain a keylogger (which is a virus that “logs” every key that you type.) designed to steal your Runescape name and password. Yet people still use them. If you find one that actually does what it’s suppose to do, which is very unlikely, how long do you think you could go on without being banned? I have heard from some people that after fifty hours of playing Runescape straight, you get an automatic ban. I am not sure if this is true or not, as I have never been awake for fifty hours straight. If this is true, it’s a smart move on their part. People will turn these Runescape Autominers on and leave the computer for days. Then when they are ready to take over, they will have a high mining level and a lot of ore stored in their bank.

So why don’t they get banned? Well a lot of times they do. You see, usually people will get these programs, make other accounts and turn on the programs. Then they will have a bunch of accounts that will say… level 50 mining at the exact same time, and then they can illegally sell those account for real money. Which is bad to the illegal buyer, because most likely the account is getting banned soon anyway.

Are you wondering why you have not seen one of these Runescape Autominers? Well, most likely you have without even knowing it. If you see a level 3 player doing something continuously, then it means one of two things. It’s a pure or an autoer. A pure is an account that someone makes that is “pure” something. Such as A pure miner, a pure woodcutter, a pure mage, so on so fourth. Sometimes people will make these pure using auoters as well. If they don’t talk to you, a lot of times they are macros. (Macros are the same as autoer, bot, so on…) Nevertheless, not always. Sometimes when people have a certain level they want to achieve, they will turn off their chat so they can concentrate on one thing. Don’t go reporting people until you know for sure!

Runescape Autominers can be useful, as any hack, cheat, bot, glitch, and so fourth can be. However, the gains you get from them are not usually as great as the losses. Say you powermine for just an hour. Just to see if you like it. Then you come back in an hour and you have been banned! All you wanted to do was see what it was, and you lost your account. Is it really worth loosing an account over? No cheat is worth that. If you really want to use a Runescape Autominer, then a simple Google search would bring some up. Nevertheless, I do not in any way support this form of playing. I think its wrong to those who work for what they have, it is cheating, and its plain out lazy! How would you feel if you worked for a year to get something, and a person got it by cheating? I do not know how it would make you feel, but I would be pretty darn mad.

Happy Playing, and be safe!

Runescape Auto Woodcutter

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Cheats, Runescape Tips

Runescape auto woodcutter is one of the many macros that have been built for the game of Runescape. A macro is a program that will take control of your account and play the game for you. This is against the rules of the game, and Jagex will easily find and ban anyone that uses these programs. An Auto Woodcutter is built to, as the name states, cut wood. This will allow you to leave your computer while your player will automatically chop wood, getting you experience points. The thing is, if you are not going to play the game, why play the game? That goes for anyone who cheats in any form.

Most of these programs are click the color programs. Therefore, if you were to pick a color of tree, then the program will search that color and then click it over and over. Almost never will you find an actual working program most of them contain keyloggers. Keyloggers are a form of computer virus. They will not harm the computer, but rather harm the person who uses the computer. They can steal your Runescape account, your credit card information, and anything else. They simply “log” every key you type and then send it to the creator. If you type in your Runescape username and password while having one of these viruses on your computer, then you can expect it to be gone. The same goes for your credit card information, if you buy something online after getting a keylogger on your computer, then you have just put yourself in a lot of danger. Imagine having a maxed out credit card just because you wanted to cheat in a game.

I cannot say it enough; cheating is just not the answer. It is much just simpler to go chop the tree yourself. It gives you no risk of having your account banned because, you are not! If you get tired, take a break. It is not hard to take a break. Then, after you have recharged, you can go back to the game and keep working.

Let’s say you found a working Runescape auto woodcutter and decided to try it, just once, for an hour. Therefore, you turn it on and go watch television. You come back an hour later and find out that oops, the account you have worked on for a year has just been banned. If you do not think that is possible, let me tell you this. Jagex have their own little bots. They actively search the game to find cheaters. When they do, they quickly alert Jagex, then Jagex will ban that account. Jagex has no tolerant for cheaters, they have proved that time and time again.

On January 19, 2006, Jagex decided to show the cheaters just how serious they were. Therefore, they banned over 15,000 Runescape accounts. They were all cheaters. If you still think, you can get away with it by making a brand new account, cheating, and then throwing it away, think again. In their news article, they wrote this:

“As well as having new systems to detect people cheating in this way, we are also using a new system to go through and ban other accounts used by these cheats, so they can’t just cheat on a ‘throwaway’ account they don’t care about, and expect their other accounts to be unaffected.”

Therefore, before you even try to get one of these macros, I would stop and consider the consequences. Jagex still bans thousands of accounts a month. They WILL find you if you cheat. There is no magic bubble to protect your account from a ban. They will not hesitate if they find you cheating. Remember this - I have played the game for many years, and I can tell you, it is much better to do it yourself. Happy Playing.

How to Keep your Account Safe

Runescape: Shielding Your Account From Real World Thieves.

We love Runescape. It’s a great game and there’s always so much to do. Previously, and in the future, we’ll write about so many tips and tricks that you’ll be a world-wide renowned player if you follow them all. However, there are people out there who are too lazy to do the work for themselves. Some of you reading this article may have had your Runescape account stolen by hackers and thieves. If you’re ever asked to participate in helping to steal Runescape passwords, please report it to Jagex immediately. There’s no fun in getting accounts illegally, and it’s morally wrong. Also, you could be liable for legal action if you do so.

We have to protect our accounts from these hacking teams, so our team went undercover into one of these password-stealing scams. We found out the top ways that they work, and we’re going to list some ways you can protect yourself. Some of these things are obvious, others, not so much

1.) Don’t ever tell someone your password. Nobody. Jagex will never ask for your password. Remember, they have your password already on their server, so why would they need to ask? The only person who would ask is someone stealing accounts.

2.) Your account will never be locked in 24 hours if you don’t provide your password. Trust us. If RuneScape wants to ban you, they won’t wait 24 hours.

3.) Only login to Runescape on the official RuneScape site. The official site is www.runescape.com Never follow a link to the site, because links can easily be faked by anyone. Check the address bar every time you play. Also, you should manually type in the URL in the address bar when you do play.

4.) Get an anti-virus software, even a free one. Not only will this protect your account, it’ll protect your computer. We recommend AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition.

5.) Get an anti-spyware program, even if it is free. We recommend Lavasoft Ad-Aware Free Edition. The reason for this is that hackers can use spyware to see what you type as your password on your computer.

6.) Get keylogger protection. Lavasoft does this, but if you can get a special program for preventing keyloggers, your PC will be a lot safer.

7.) Don’t go for scams that say that they will give you tons of free items, or free gold. Don’t go for the email scams either. Let’s review the e-mail scam in detail. Here’s what an uninformed Runescape player might do.

You visit a website that says that they can get you tons of free gold and items at no risk at all. Of course, you check the site out.
The site says that JagEx or Runescape has a vulnerability in their email system. By emailing a certain email address that, of course, belongs to JagEx, you’ll get some gold, or items, or someone else’s account password.
All you have to do to get that free stuff is to send an email to that email address, or fill out a form on a website with some information. This email or form ALWAYS contains your username and password, and maybe it contains how much gold you want, or which items you want, or the person’s account name whose password you want. There are slight variations on this scam.
After you email the information, you’ll get the stuff in your account that you requested.
Here’s what’s really happening. When you fill out the form or send the email, you’re actually sending it to a scammer. The scammer will then collect the data as fast as possible, and log in to your account! Then, they’ll proceed to empty it completely of anything valuable. If you have a high level character, they might change the email and password that the account is registered to, and start to play under your account. Boom. You have no proof that that was your account to begin with, and all your hard work is gone.

Question: But the email that I’m sending to looks really official. Its something like jagex@yahoo.com. Of course this isn’t a scam.

Answer: DEAD WRONG! First of all, JagEx employees’ emails always are like abcde@runescape.com or abcde@jagex.com. (By the way, if you receive an email from someone pretending to be a part of RuneScape staff, ignore it and forward it to abuse@jagex.com. These types of emails are fake, because the sender line has been compromised, something that’s easy to do. ) The JagEx mail server is only on these domains, so there’s no way that these’ll work. In fact, the scammers register official looking email addresses to fool you. Don’t fall for it.

Remember to stay safe while playing the game. Don’t waste all your hard work by falling for one of these silly tricks. Good Luck!

How to Keep your Account Safe 2

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

I’m sure we have all heard people say they have been hacked at least once. Usually they are lying to get free items or gold. This does not mean that there are still not hackers out there. The best way to secure your account is never to give out your password to anyone. But, this is not always going to work. There are other ways of protecting your account even if someone happens upon your password.

One way would be to set recovery questions. This way, if someone changes your password, you can get it back. But by then, your account could be drained of all of its items. So this is not a good thing in that way. But, you can protect items in your bank by setting a bank PIN. You can do this by going to a banker and talking to them about it.

Once you get to the pin screen, you will see this:

Click Set a bank Pin and click yes I really want to set a bank pin. I will never forget it.

Then you can punch in any 4 number combo. Nevertheless, find a way so that you will remember it. Writing it down is not the best way, as someone can find the paper trail and steal it. If you have to use paper, then hide it somewhere where no one would think to look.

This would be an example of a safe account: A password that would be very hard to guess, recovery questions that only you would know, and a bank pin that’s hard to guess. Although it is rare for an account to be hacked by a random person, it can be. They will spend endless hours typing random passwords until they find one that’s correct.

Still want more protection? Try going to the Stronghold of Security. It will teach you some valuable info on how to keep your account safe, while earning a good reward at the same time! If you’re not sure where the Stronghold of Security is, it’s in the middle of Barbarian Village, where you mine rocks. It will say Climb-down Entrance. It can get a bit dangerous down there; you might want to bring food. But it’s worth it to know that your Dragon Dagger Poisoned (++) is safe from those very few who would steep so low as to rip off another player.

Remember to always report when you think someone is going to scam, or try to get another player’s password. I’ve been in many scams before, where I’ve lost over 90,000 gp in items. A couple of examples of scams are, “Hey dude, check this awesome glitch out! If you say red:yourpassword it will block it out and you will get 50k!” or “This is a trust game, trade me items and I will trade them back, whoever trades the most worth of the items wins!” for the trust game, they will wait till it’s a very valuable item and then log out.

Remember, everyone you meet in a game that says they are your friend may not be. If they have your password, they can cause you to lose your account or be banned permanently. Some players might just wish to find an account they can use to scam others, knowing it will be banned, in order to transfer their scammed items into their account. Then the person that owned the account would be out of luck since his or her account was the one that was caught scamming.

Getting Around RuneScape

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

Ever wanted to take a tour of RuneScape? Ever wanted to make that huge drop party? Didn’t know the best way to get there? One of the most important things to know about RuneScape is how to get around. Jagex has left us numerous ways to do this, some being faster than other, some being more expensive than others. There are so many members options for traveling, but this article will only cover the non-member ways. These include running, teleporting, sailing, and dying.

In your options menu, you have a choice between walking and running. Running will get you someplace in half the time that it takes to walk. Even though running is obviously preffered by most players, everyone seems to walk about the RuneScape world because they run out of energy quickly. Energy is affected by how much weight you are carrying on you. When you walk, you do not use any energy, but when you run you slowly lose your energy until you run out. Players can check how much they are carrying by opening their equipment stats menu. It would be wise to wear/carry the least amount of items so that you can run for a longer period of time. There is also a hotkey for running; when you are walking, hold ctrl and click on the spot you’d like to run to. Your character will run to that spot, and then walk anywhere else you’d like to go. This hotkey is very useful for people that are doing that are doing iron runs or similar stuff.

There are four teleport spells that non-member players may use: Lumbridge Home Port, Varrock Teleport, Lumbridge Teleport, and Falador Teleport. The good thing is that you only need to get your magic level to 37 in order to use all of these spells. These are very useful spells because these are the biggest cities in the free RuneScape world. There are also many NPCs that can teleport you in the game if you ask them to. An example of this is Aubury in the magic shop in Varrock, he will teleport you to the special Runescrafting mine.

For non-members, there is one ship that will take you Karamja Island. To do this, you need to go to Port Sarim and find the ship that will take you to Karamja. Then, gather 30 gold and you can pay for a ticket. This voyage is especially useful for people that would like to fish for lobsters and swordfish. To get back to Port Sarim, you come the same way back that you got there. If you do not have enough money for a ticket back, you can work for the man that owns the banana plantation. All you need to do is pick a certain amount of bananas and he will pay you 30 gold.

When non-members die in RuneScape, they always end up in the center of the courtyard in Lumbridge Castle. Though this seems like a great, free and fast teleportation method, you may not always have it as an option. When you die, you can usually only keep three of your best items (by best items, the game calculates it as the items that are worth the most. This being said, if you can only keep one item and you have a bronze dagger and a blue Phat, then you will unfortunately keep the bronze dagger). If you have a decent prayer level, you can use your Protect Item prayer and then you will keep one extra item. If you have killed someone in the wilderness and have a skull above your head, you will not be able to keep any items unless you use Protect Item. This method is a bit of a risk sometimes.

Description: A guide to all the f2p ways of getting around the RuneScape world. Includes guide for running, teleporting, sailing, and dying.
