Runescape Chat Effects

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

Did you know that you could change the colors and add animations or effects to your text? I’m sure you have seen someone do this at some point in the game. A lot of times, people use this tip to draw attention to things they are selling. In any of these colors, animations, or effects, they code always goes before the message.

First, I will name the colors I know.
禄 Red
禄 Cyan
禄 Purple
禄 White
禄 Green
禄 Purple

An example would be; “red: Zammy owns you!!!” or “cyan: Saradomin Pwns you!!!”. Now I will name the effects and what they do.

glow1: Text fades red to blue.
glow2: Text fades red to purple to blue.
glow3: Text fades white to green to blue.
flash1: Text cycles red to yellow quickly.
flash2: Text cycles blue to cyan quickly.
flash3: Text cycles green to light green quickly.

Now I will name the animations;

Slide: Text slides from top to bottom.
scroll: Text scrolls right to left.
shake: Text shakes up and down.
wave: Text waves up and down.
wave2: Text waves slowly from left to right.

You could mix these together and get many different colors. Some examples would be;

Cyan: scroll: <>< <>< <>< Fishie! <>< <>< <><
Green: wave: ~~~~~~OCEAN! ~~~~~
flash3: slide: bsell 100K for all!

You can have a lot of fun with these Runescape Chat Effects. If you’re bored fishing, then why not try the first or second example I put there. It gets everyone pumped up and ready to fish more! Using it for selling is also a good trick. If you have 40 people there, typing all yellow text and you put red: Selling full rune! You’re going to get noticed. The idea with selling is to get the word out, and if you use a red text in an ocean of yellow, which is going to get read first, all the yellow, or the red words? The red ones of course.

I really like the scroll: animation. You can do quite a few things with it. I will name some of my favorite things for it.

The animation scroll: makes the words scroll across the screen going from left to right. Therefore, if you make things face that way, it looks like they are walking, swimming, or flying.

If you fishing, of course making a big long stream of <>< can be fun. Something like this:

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

I like to leave a little space so that it has one last fish trailing behind the group.

I also like to make what looks like Kirby. There are many you could make of him, so let me show you them.

< (^. ^<) (>^. ^<) < (^. ^)> (>^. ^)> These are the most common. Therefore, if you were to take the first one and add some words you would get something like this:

< (^. ^<) ~KIRBY! ~

This would scroll across the screen and look awesome. There are a lot of little things you can make using text, and far too many to name. Some of the more common ones are; =), :), = (, :(, and so on. As I said, I could spend loads of hours here writing all the faces you can make using the = and : signs.

Now that you have a basic idea of chat colors, effects, animations, and a few emotions, why not go out and try them? Who knows, you might even invent some of your own!

Happy Playing!

Runescape Classic

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

聽that’s right. There was a game before the Runescape that you now know. It did not have nearly as good graphics as Runescape does now. In fact, they looked like pieces of paper.

Originally, in Runescape Classic when you were starting out, you got to pick from five major classes. Each class got their own specialty when starting out. These classes were

Ranger - Started with a shortbow and arrows.
Adventurer - Started with a Bronze Axe, Tinderbox, and one piece of Cooked Meat.
Miner - Started with a pickaxe, which at that time were the only ones available.
Warrior - Started with a Bronze Short Sword and a Wooden Shield
Necromancer - Started with a Wizard Hat and a regular Staff.

This feature was taken out early July 2002.

They also allowed at one point to be able to duel anywhere in the world. You could just walk up to someone, right click, and click duel. Players liked this idea for more than one reason. For one, you could get to Lumbridge fast because as long as you didn’t stake anything, you wouldn’t loose any items. They liked this feature because if they were training and a person walked up, they could duel over the training spot. This saved players a lot of time because they didn’t have to switch worlds to find a less crowded area. They removed this feature because players could run away and the duel would not end, and players could bank the staked items. So, to fix this problem, Jagex built the Dueling Arena.

Player Killing in Runescape Classic was a whole different world. In the beginning, you could be killed everywhere except Lumbridge, or if you designated yourself as NPK which stands for Non-Player Killers. Along with that, There was no running in Runescape Classic, so catching your pray was much easier. In addition, you could not eat during a battle, and you could not run until 3 turns of attacks happened. So more than often, did PKers catch unsuspecting players in the old days?

Runescape Classic had their own type of notes as well. Instead of having noted items, they had Certificates. Also known as certs. These certs equaled five of every item. Therefore, instead of one note per one item, they had one cert per five items. The Banks were very hard to use, as only one player could talk to one NPC at a time. So people often sat in a bank for long periods of time just waiting to be able to even get into their bank. After they finally got in, there was a withdraw and deposit limit! So trading large amounts of items took even longer.

Here are some random facts about Runescape Classic:

When a person tried to say something offensive, the censors would change it to say Cabbage.

There was a skill called Tailoring that was near-useless and very hard to gain experience points in, they later removed it and made it an add-on to Crafting.

Influence was basically like Quest Points. The only way to get it was to complete quests. A person with high Influence level could sell their silk to the silk trader for more coins than the normal amount.

Prayer was split into 2 different categories, Good Prayer and Evil Prayer.

I played Runescape Classic one time, but not very long. After Runescape 2 came out, Runescape Classic became out of date. I believe there are still some players on Runescape Classic. All of the Free to Play members of Runescape Classic had to either upgrade to Pay to Play, or loose their accounts. This of course made a lot of players angry; because they had played the game for a long time and did not find it right to be forced into paying. Happy Playing.

Runescape Merchanting Tips

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Skills, Runescape Tips

Have you ever wondered what merchanting was? Well, it is just buying low and selling high. A lot of people get Runescape merchanting confused with scamming. Of course, this is not the case. Scamming is cheating other players out of their money, items, and so on.

Here is the quote of rule 2: “You must not scam or deceive other players. And lying to other players for your own personal gain is not in the spirit of fair play.”

Merchanting is just buying as low as you can get it, and selling as high as you can. With the new trade limits, it makes it harder to buy super low, and sell super high, because players now know exactly how much they are paying. This usually means less people willing to pay the max price. Due to the trade limits, merchanting has almost become a dead topic. Now all people recommend doing is hording. Hording is my term for stocking up in ore, wood, ect… to sell as bulk to players. Hording and Merchanting are two of the same whole.

You see, Merchants need bulk items as cheap as they can get them so that they can sell the bulk items for more of a price. I have heard that there are three types of sellers.

You have: Repeat Sellers - These ones will give you a continuous flow of the bulk. As you keep on buying, you form a trust between each other and thus can get better deals.
Desperate Sellers - These are good, as if they are desperate you can get a way better deal. Usually these types of sellers are over stocked and will take the loss. Then you have the ones who do not know the value of an item. Personally, I think that this is a lot like scamming. Just so you know, due to the trade limits, these types of sellers do not exist. This is one reason that the Merchants have died out. So in a way, merchanting use to be a lot like scamming. Now a days, it just buying low and selling high.

I do not think I ever tried merchanting; it seemed like a lot of work for not so much profit. Not to mention that you had to have money to start with, and back before I developed my own ways, I had no money. I started earning money by chopping wood and then I moved onto fishing. Hording is an excellent way to make money. For those few who are still merchanting, I greatly recommend you switch over to Hording. As more and more people switch over, less and less are going to accept less than the normal price. As the price rises, merchanting will become a dead theory.

The people who Hord have figured out that they are accepting too low for their items now, because of the trade limits. So instead of selling low, they are going to go to the bulk buyers and sell for a better price. As this happens, the market will slowly rise. As the market slowly rises, more and more people will begin to switch over to hording. As this happens, people are going to look for the lowest price available. That is where you come in.

Hord and save, watch the market go up. When you think that it is time, sell as low as you can. I guarantee that you are going to have people lined up just waiting to buy from you, and because you spent your time hording, you will have the items to supply them. Thus, you become rich. Happy Hording!

Runescape Passwords

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Beginners' Guide, Runescape Tips

How to make a safe password when creating an Account
Are you making a Runescape account? Do you want it as safe as possible? Then you need to have a safe password that is not easily guessed. A good password would be a pet’s name and the year you were born. (Examples: max87 spot94 sam57) Perhaps a birth date of a famous person, a favorite book, or even just a random word. These are all great examples of runescape passwords. The more you can distance yourself from the password, the better. Of course, you want to be able to remember it, but you do not want it so easy so that a friend or relative can guess.

A Runescape password can be anywhere from 5 to 20 characters long. A character means a letter or number. Therefore, a password has to be at least 5 characters long and at most 20 characters long. Obviously, the more characters you have, the harder it is to guess. So a 5 character password is considered weak and a 20 character password is considered strong.

Runescape will not let you use a fragment of your Username or your Username spelled backwards for your password. This is because it is very easy to guess, when you are looking right at it. Therefore, you might want to take a few minutes and think up a good password. You can always change the password later. It is a good idea to change your runescape password every month or so, to ensure that it stays safe.

Congratulations! You now have created an account. It is not a good idea to write your password down on a piece of paper as Runescape says. If you write it down, and it is found by a friend or relative they can steal your account. However, if you do choose to write it down, make sure you store it somewhere safe.

The reason you want a want a safe password is not just for people you know in real life, but in the game as well. There are people out there that spend hours on end sitting and typing random passwords to get on an account that is not theirs. This seems really odd to some of you I’m sure, seeing as the time they spend trying they could be working on their account and getting the items, levels, and gold that they get from hacking other player’s accounts.

In addition, if Jagex finds out that they are trying to get player’s passwords then they will ban them. Jagex does not tolerate hackers, scammers, and thieves. They are working 24/7 to make Runescape more secure. Now if you try to say your password in the chat, it will not say it and send you a message saying, “it seems like you are trying to say your runescape password in the chat. We advise against this as people will try to steal your account.” I congratulate them on this, as this will stop scammers from scamming new players. It is very sad when they have to scam other players to get ahead. If everyone would just play fair, wouldn’t it be a better world? Then we could have more respect for the higher levels and not wonder to ourselves “did he buy that account?” or “I wonder if he used a bot to get that level Hackers, scammers, and thieves ruin Runescape for the good fun it should be.

Let’s keep our Runescape accounts safe and not give in to the criminals that like to show off their “winnings” on YouTube. Runescape was meant for everyone, not just the hackers who make the game unfair.

Top ways to Improve Slayer skills

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

Slayer skills are extremely important to utilize in Runescape, especially if you are a member. Since you are paying for access to this benefit, why not make the most of it? The Slayer skill, in essence, allows one to kill monsters and other creatures that are extremely difficult, or otherwise impossible to kill without access to the skill.

First, make sure to find the slayer master. Click the Key button in your control panel. Then, navigate to the page that says Slayer Master. Here is a screenshot of this page.

After you get a slayer master, you’ll find out the tasks that you need to complete. To make efficient use of your time, if the slayer master offers you an optional sword or weapon to kill the monster with, buy it. Buying this weapon will decrease the time that it takes to kill the monster and it may also generate you bonus points and rewards. (By the way, make sure that you are on a member’s world during the slaying and receiving of tasks, because it won’t generate you EXP if you do this on a public world.) Also, make sure that you’ve been ASSIGNED to the monster by a slayer master to kill the monster. If you haven’t been assigned, you’ll only gain the items that the monster has. But you’ll gain Slayer experience and the items when you’ve been assigned to a slayer by a slayer master.

Often, people go straight to the Slayer Master, Turael. You’ve probably seen him around in Burthorpe. Stay clear of him because usually, the tasks that he will give you are simple and generate a small amount of EXP.

To get the most EXP, make sure that you are the only slayer that is attacking the monster. If someone else goes for the monster, even if it is almost dead, the Slayer experience points will be halved for you. They will be evenly split between you and the other person. On the flip side, if you see a monster that’s almost dead, even if someone else has got it, try attacking it so that you get some easy EXP. This works especially well when the other slayer is at a low level, because you don’t have to be afraid of heavy retaliation. Also, weaker players may not be able to finish the monster off, but they will weaken it for you so that killing it for you is a walk in the park. Lastly, weaker players take a longer time to kill off the monsters, as they do less damage for each hit or attack that they make. You can easily take advantage of this slow speed by helping them out and finishing the monster off.

As a general tip, if your slayer master gives you easy tasks that don芒’t generate enough EXP, just get them over with quickly. For example, if the Slayer Master that you are working with tells you to kill a bird, just find a chicken and kill it. It counts as a bird, of course. While you may not get the same benefits, you’ll more than make up for it in time saved. Good luck in your slaying!

Online RPG Games Like Runescape

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

There are many other MMORPG games other than Runescape. Some of the better-known titles include World of Warcraft, Flyff, and 9Dragons. World of Warcraft has a lot better graphics, and still has around the same theme. Flyff as well has way better graphics, and has a lot better theme to it. As you can pick many different lifestyles, such as a mage, warrior, healer, and so forth. 9Dragons plays more of a back in the time of shaolin monks. It is a very fun game to play if you have some patience. The fun and excitement comes from the ability to choose different roles such as a shaolin monk, each role of course has different purposes.

If you want to find these games, Google the letters “mmorpg”. MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game. Usually they consist of gaining levels and becoming stronger. This is not always the case in every game. Of course, there are an uncountable number of these types of games out there. There are several that are free to play with fewer charging money to pay.

There are two main types of massively multiplayer online role-playing games. The Browser, which is like Runescape, these types usually do not have very good graphics. (They are on a web page after all.) Then there are the downloadable ones, like Flyff and 9Dragons. If they are download mmorpgs, then most likely they will have good graphics, unless the creator was just lazy. Good graphics is one feature that many players wish to see so they can enjoy the game better. Poor graphics does not always add to the excitement of the game play.

There are too many mmorpgs out there to play them all, so let’s go back in time to when and how they started. The mmorpgs started a long time ago, and I believe the first big hit was Everquest. The graphics were great, the theme was great, and many people became addicted to the game. When other companies saw this, they decided to release their own, and thus, we now are flooded with a limitless supply of massively multiplayer role-playing games at our disposal. Everquest still has a mmorpg, which you can get if you want to see what it is today.

MMORPGs are advancing at a rapid rate, who knows what we will come out tomorrow or the next day. A good example of the future is the game of Secondlife. Millions of people log in everyday just to be there in their second life. In some ways, it’s a lot like real life, but with a lot more freedom. In Secondlife, you can be what you want, do what you want, make what you want; the world is yours for the molding. Secondlife is free to play, unless you choose for it not to be. Some examples of what Secondlife has to offer are your own virtual land, going to a fair, riding the rainy streets of New York, or becoming a hotshot snail racer. I have heard a couple of rumors of one guy that mortgaged his house and used the money in Secondlife. Within one year, he tripled his mortgage. So yes, you can indeed make real money in this game.

More and more businesses are going into Secondlife and I have heard that Yahoo and Google will be releasing their own versions to compete with them. The reason for businesses to use Secondlife is that meeting can be held in a virtual world in their virtual office no matter where employees might be in the world. Logging onto SecondLife is one way to stay in touch with business partners, co-workers, and employees without long distance bills.

So now, you know a little more about what’s out there. Runescape is not the only game on the block by far. This is only the tip of the iceberg; there are more games similar to Runescape that will give you hours and hours of exploring. So next time you get bored with Runescape - runescape-blog.com, why not go out, and see what else is out there? You may just find out that you love more than just one game but of course will Runescape will always be at the top of list for fun and excitement.

Happy Playing.

Runescape Clan Chat

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

Runescape Clan Chat can be a great way to stay in touch with your Player Killing team. I use to own a clan; it was called the Brothers of the Bone. We all dressed in red robes, and it was flat out fun. The Clan Chat helped a lot to keep track of all the members. The Runescape Clan Chat can be used for other things than just Clan Chats. If you want to hold a meeting with a couple people and still be all over Runescape, the Clan Chat can be a massive help.

Let’s talk about Creating a Clan Chat. First, go to your Clan Chat tab. Then click on Clan Setup.
This button will pop up a window with many different things. Lets start with the tabs on the
left.

Clan Name: Click on this and you can type in the name you want your Clan Chat to be called. (Note: you can only put up to 12 letters.)

Who can enter chat? This is the lowest rank allowed to enter the chat. There are Many different choices to these, and they are
禄 Anyone
禄 Any Friends
禄 Recruits
禄 Corporal
禄 Sergeant
禄 Lieutenant
禄 Captain
禄 General
禄 Only Me

This is the same for Who can kick on chat? and Who can share loot? Accept on the second one there is a No-One option. You can Access these menus by right clicking on these tabs. CoinShare is a loot sharing option of your going to fight monsters; the drops will be shared between the groups.

On the right, you will see your friends list and a lot of Not in Clans. If you right click where it
says Not in clan you will get a drop down menu like the others, and you can assign your friends roles in the clan.

Joining a Clan Chat is fairly simple. You simply press Join Chat and type in their name. You also have to do this with your own Clan Chat, every time you log in.

You can also mute the clan chat, or any other chat for that matter, using the tabs down below by Report Abuse. Simply right click to get the menu and select Off Clan.

Now that you know all about the Clan Chat, why not get out there and recruit? You can become the biggest and best clan in Runescape with a little help from the Runescape Clan Chat. Remember, Clan Chat is your friend! Let me give you some good tips for where to find powerful people to recruit. Not in Lumbridge, Not in Varrok. These places are noob city. For Free to Play members, I would check Falador. Usually the higher levels hang out in Falador. For Pay to Play, Try the Duel Arena or Castle Wars. Especially at Castle Wars, that’s where many of the really high levels like to show off their skills. If you’re daring enough, try skimming the back of the wilderness, but a lot of the time they are not going to listen to you back there. If you can recruit those ones that hang out in the back of the wilderness, then your Clan will be unstoppable.

Runescape Clans

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Runescape Tips

There are thousands of Runescape Clans out there. About 40% of them are not equipped with a website and usually fail. Around 58% of them will have websites and will most likely have requirements to join, but they will not fail. The remaining 2% of them are secret clans that only few will even know exist. Usually these secret clans will be hard to find, as they try their best to keep it that way.

Clans are usually made for PKing, some for Pest Control, Castle Wars, and Duel Arena, so on so forth. The 40% are made by new people who want to be strong and get rich by PKing. The 58% will be more wise about it, and they will hold clan meetings, training events, and such. The secret clans do not usually care about fighting; they will set up some sort of business to make money, such as fishing. It is very smart of them, as if they get a good income, they can then afford to buy people armor and such. It is a very small percentage that does this, and even less percentage that actually make it. If you are planning to make a clan, whether it be secret or not, always keep your eyes on the prize.

Let me give you some tips to make a clan;

1. Get a website. You can get free websites from many different places; I would also suggest getting a forum. This way you can stay in contact with all of your members.

2. Recruit. If you do not actively get new members, your clan is going to fail. If I were you, after I had a few members, I would elect some recruiters. Their job would be to get new people into the clan. I would also elect a trainer for each combat skill (Meelee, Range, and Mage.) to help out the new recruits. Their job would be to take the new people out and show them places to train, and make sure their skills are up to par.

3. Find a meeting place. If you are a member, buy a house and build it up. If you are not a member, find an empty building. They can be anywhere, but I would get one that is out of the way so there is not a lot of traffic.

4. Make a clan chat. This is a very great way of keeping in touch in the game, especially if you are going to split up in the wilderness. (Not the best idea.)

5. Have SOME sort of income. If you are going to have a large army, you are going to need weapons and armor. So have some sort of income to pay for it. Especially when you have people who need rune. (PKing counts as income.)

Clans can be very fun, but at the same time a lot of work. It is better to have some others to help run the clan. It can be a great way to make money, if you stick to it. Remember, keep your eyes on the prize.

If you really work at it, and get a load of members, you can become one of the best. It is Runescape, anything is possible! Haha, Happy Playing!

Woodcutting, a vague guide

Posted by: amber  //  Category: Runescape Guide, Runescape Help, Runescape Powerleveling, Runescape Skills, Runescape Tips

have been training woodcutting since I first started playing Runescape, in fact woodcutting was one of my first 2 skills to get a fairly high level, the second being mining, I am not a great fan of woodcutting or mining now.
I decide to go for 99 woodcutting because over the years I had got it to 96 and just a few levels would get me another cape.

To get to 96 I cut the best tree I could, I wasn’t bothered about time because it was not my main cash generating skill and I was in no hurry, oaks are a very good tree to chop at lower levels (not to bad at higher levels either), xp is fast and you get loads of birds nests and tree seeds, my favourite spot for oaks was just outside the west gate at Varrock, easy to chop as there are 3 trees, you only need to chop 2 because they respawn quickly.
Had I done it for speed I would have stayed there for a few levels above the minimum for cutting willows, instead I went to willows when I could and chopped there until I could chop yews, the best willow place is Draynor Village chop and bank and repeat.
As soon as I could chop yews I chopped yews, I wasn’t bothered about cash I just wanted to chop yews, the xp although not as good as willows was adequate for me and I enjoyed chopping there, the spot I preferred was west of Catherby using the Catherby bank to unload, the fun at Catherby is its a fancy dress chopping area, players like to wear their full Dragon, Dharoks, elegant and Ringmaster now, dress to impress is the dress code for Catherby.
I like to change training spot so would normally chop yews at catherby, occasionally chop willows at Draynor and oaks at Varrock just for a change of scenery.

When I could chop magics I had a go at them, Magic trees are very slow, and when I say slow I mean verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry slow, but none the less they are fun to chop for a while if you want to sleep, chat or just fight of randoms, Lletya is my place of choice for magic trees, use the teleport crystals to bank and run the short distance back to the trees.
When magics were first there they were very noisy and only choppable if you turned sound off, luckily Jagex have reduced the sound so you can still listen to what you are doing, its quite relaxing to chop at Lletya.

Even with the ability to chop magic trees it is still a lot quicker xp to chop willows, even more so than yews, there is the option to chop teaks which are better xp than willows, the only problem with teaks is there is no bank near so you either burn or drop, I personally don’t want to play with every log that I chop so I stick at willows, teaks are great if you want to train fire making at the same time but guaranteed RSI if you don’t, if you want to chop teaks the best place is Ape Atoll, you can chop as a monkey so you don’t get attacked.

Chopping aids
There are numerous ways to help your chopping efficiency, this is where the term “noob bait” comes in, this is a name I made up to describe a situation to guarantee questions from many players.

Lumberjack
Lumberjack clothing is obtained from the Temple Trekking mini game, it adds a small amount of xp per log when chopping, with the full set it adds 2.5% more experience, over time the 2.5% adds up quite considerably, with this set alone you will get 99 wood cutting 2.5% faster than without, you need level 44 woodcutting to wear Lumberjack.
The down side is it can take a very long time to get the Lumberjack Jacket, it took me 2 weeks almost constant playing the mini game, I may have been able to get more xp chopping for the 2 weeks but I wanted the set and there are other good prizes from the trekking game.

Beaver
The beaver familiar gives you a woodcutting boost of 2, this is invisible so it can not help you chop a tree 2 levels higher than you can currently chop but you will be chopping at a speed that a player 2 levels higher can, this works out as a 2% woodcutting increase so you can get 99 woodcutting 2% faster, the beaver also collects planks and logs up to yew, this can cover the cost of the shards for the beaver pouch and it uses a willow log to make so you are chopping them anyway.

Inferno Adze
The Inferno Adze doesn’t give you a woodcutting boost but it burns a percentage of the logs you chop, they simply catch fire and whiz over your shoulder, I have included it here because if you burn the logs you do not need to bank so often, they are burnt as you chop so no time is wasted burning them, I estimate that about 1/4 to 1/3 are burnt as you chop so you can save as much as a bank trip per 3 to 4 full loads.
I have got my last 2 firemaking levels without burning a single log, firemaking is a waste of time as far as I am concerned so levelling with no direct intervention from me is a bonus, although it is a waste of time it is still a skill and one day I will master it, just not a priority at the moment.
You need 92 firemaking to get and wield an Inferno Adze, you obtain the Inferno Adze by completing the mini game after the All Fired Up quest.

Rabbits foot
Wearing a Rabbit foot around your neck is reported to increase the amount of bird nests you can get when chopping, I cant say that I have noticed but if Jagex say it does then it must, birds nests are desirable beacuse the ground nests have value for herblore and the tree seeds are worth up to 180k for magic seeds at current prices.

Noob bait
Just because people are low level or don’t understand something doesn’t make them a noob, I just call it this as a bit of humour.
I wear all the above and you can imagine the amount of people who ask where I get this where I get that, does it do this, does it do that, its OK but after the 5th person in 2 minutes asks it can get a bit tedious, luckily other players like to show off their knowledge and tell the next person who asks.

I no longer wear my slayer cape chopping as that gets far too many “Do emote” comments.

Strategy
There is a tendency for people to chop their own tree, there is no reason to have your own tree, in fact it is detrimental for all people chopping, it is far better to go to a tree that everyone is chopping, this will make the tree fall quicker but at least if the tree falls and you move onto another there is always a tree to chop, if every one has a different tree at the same time and they all fall (this often happens) then everyone is stood around gaining no XP.
The trees fall at the rate of the lowest level woodcutter so if you are a high level woodcutting player and you join a low level the tree will fall quicker but at least you can chop.

My top tip is, Chop and enjoy, if you don’t enjoy take a break, I take slayer breaks very regularly.

Sacred clay tools - an observation, confirmation please

I love the Sacred clay tools, I like the extra xp when using them, I have fished 2k Sharks using the harpoon and chopped 1K yew logs and I have noticed something very strange.

RUNESCAPE MONEY

No Randoms, in the whole time I used the harpoon I never had a troll, big fish, MOM or Dr Jekyll in fact I have not had any randoms.

Jagex said that they are going to get rid of some randoms because the bots have gone, I could see this being a problem because the likes of grave digger, drill sergeant and mime give clothes as a reward and these are fun for a while, I can understand people being upset at not being able to have them.

Have Jagex decided to use the new tools as a way to stop randoms, you still get randoms when using the Adze.

It may just be that I was lucky never getting randoms but it seems too much of a coincidence, especially when fishing, randoms come in phases and everyone around me was getting randoms on numerous occasions and I never had 1.

Even when chopping I had no randoms except the ones started by other players the ent for example, when you get the ent you cant chop it with a clay hatchet anyway.
