Squeal of Fortune – Extra Spins

Posted by: amber  //  Category: runescape news

There are new ways to earn additional, free spins through playing RuneScape:

Squeal of Fortune prizes: Tickets for two extra spins can be won as prizes on the Squeal of Fortune itself.
Monster drops: Most monsters around the world now have a rare chance of dropping a spin ticket (a single-use item that adds an extra spin to your allowance), with the exception of creatures in minigames and Dungeoneering.
Non-combat skilling activities: Any activity that can score you a Shattered Heart strange rock also has a separate, rare chance to earn an extra Squeal spin – added right on to your current spin count.
Weekly Distractions & Diversions: Each week, one of four D&Ds will give a guaranteed spin for completing a particular action within the D&D. Regular details of which D&D will earn you a weekly spin can be found on the Squeal of Fortune reward screen. The four D&Ds, and the required actions within them, are as follows:
Circus: Complete any one of the four performances: Magic, Ranged, Agility or Firemaking.
Penguin Hide and Seek: Exchange penguin points for coins or XP by speaking to Larry or Chuck.
Evil Tree: Attack the evil tree.
Shooting Star: Mine any star, and receive XP from doing so.
The Monthly D&D – Troll Invasion: Starting your first Troll Invasion attempt of the month, either as a combatant or a skiller, will earn you an extra Squeal spin.

Being a RuneScape subscriber is another great way to get more chances to win. Members get 2 free daily spins rather than just 1, and have exclusive access to the D&Ds listed above. Also, members have access to 182 great quests!

If you require more spins, or simply prefer to save some time, you can purchase various spin packages. to do this, simply click the “buy spins” button within the Squeal of Fortune interface.

Finally, soon you will also be able to earn free Squeal spins as rewards for completing any quests. The team are working hard on this feature, and we expect to be able to provide it to you before the end of April.

When you spin the Squeal of Fortune, your free, daily spins will be used first, following by the spins you earned through RuneScape gameplay. Finally, any purchased spins will always be used last. Here’s an insider’s tip – if you want to spin faster, just double-click the big, red button to stop the wheel early!

Runescape Making History Quest Guide

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Quests

1. To start the quest, talk to Jorral, located in the outpost just south of the Gnome Stronghold.[map] Agree to help him, and he will tell you to go and find three people who are related to the outpost. The following three parts can be done in any order.

Erin
2. Walk or teleport to Ardougne talk to the silver trader in the marketplace. You will be given a key.

3. Walk to the spot just below the Observatory (map) or teleport to Castle Wars and walk to the spot. Dig on the spot using a spade, and you will get a chest, which can be opened using the enchanted key you got from the silver trader. Inside you will find a journal.

Dron
4. Walk to Rellekka or teleport to Camelot then walk. You will find Blanin, Dron’s brother, east of the main hall. Talk to him, then talk to Dron who is located north of the main hall. Give him the following replies and he will tell you about the history of the outpost.

I’m after important answers.
Why, you’re the famous warrior Dron!
An iron mace
Breakfast
Lunch
Bunnies
Red
36
8
4th and 5th
North-East side of town
Blanin
Fluffy
Droalak
5. If you have the Ectophial you can teleport to Port Phatmasys, but if you don’t have it, teleport to Varrock and walk. If you haven’t done Ghost’s Ahoy, you will have to pay 2 ectotokens to enter the city.

A Quick Guide to Ecto-Tokens
Once you’re in the Ectofuntus, climb down the western ladder in the building, then go to the other end of the round passage, then climb down the stairs. Repeat this process until you’re in the bottom floor. Now fill the 2 buckets with slime.
Go up to the ground floor. Climb up the eastern ladder in the building, then grind your bones in the grinder, then collect them in your pots from the bin. You need 2 pots.
Go back down to the ground floor. Choose the option to worship the Ectofuntus. You will use up the slimes, and your delicious pots of bonemeal. Talk to one of the disciples to collect your tokens.
6. Talk to Droalak who can be found near the entrance to the general store. He will tell you to get his wife a sapphire amulet.
7. Melina, Droalak’s wife, is in the house between the general store and the furnace. Talk to her twice to give her the amulet. Then she will disappear.
8. Talk to Droalak again, and he will give you a scroll.

9. Walk to the outpost or teleport to Ardougne and walk. Talk to Jorral and he will give you a letter to deliver to Kind Lathas.

10. Walk or teleport to Ardougne, and speak to King Lathas. He is upstairs in the Ardougne castle.
11. Go back to the outpost and talk to Jorral, and that will finish the quest.

If you return to Port Phasmatys, you can tell Droalak that you delivered the scroll and put his sould to rest. This gives an additional 1,000 Prayer XP.

There is also an extra miniquest for you to do after you complete the quest: By using the enchanted key, you can locate other chests which will give varying items.

Runescape Lunar Diplomacy Quest

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Talk to Lokar Searunner to begin the quest, if you do not have the required stats/quests he will tell you to go away. Lokar will gripe about the Fremenniks a little bit and talk about how he became a pirate. He will mention the Moon Clan, a mystical group with a great understanding in magic. Anyways, you agree to go there and try to establish peace between the Fremenniks and the Moon Clan, as they have been at war for a long time. He will tell you to go to Brundt the Chiefton to get a Seal of Passage, keep this with you while you’re doing the quest. Go back to Lokar and head out to the Pirate’s Cove, climb the ladders and board the ship.

The Jinxed Ship
Talk to the captain and explain your buisness, tell him that you’re ready to go. There will be a short cutscene in which the ship will sail in a circle, you’ll get roped into finding out what went wrong. The captain will suggest to talk to the navigator, head down one of the nearby ladders and talk to ‘Birds-Eye’ Jack. He’ll be no help what so ever and will tell you to talk to the captain. He says that your suspician of the navigator, that he did it, is wrong and that you should talk to him. Again. This time Jack suggests that a jinx was put on the ship or a crew member, once again talk to the captain.

Talk to ‘Eagle-eye’ Shultz and he will give you information about jinxes, talk to the chef. He will say that a feast took place, a feast with drinks. Maybe one of the members of the Moon Clan was offended by a drunken pirate? ‘Lecherous’ Lee says that the first mate dissapeared during the feast, talk to First Mate ‘Davey-boy’, he’s one level down from Lee. He says that he went to the ship to do a routine check, a check that was supposed to be done by the (missing) cabin boy. Walk back up to the top area of the ship and talk to the cabin boy.

Removing the Jinx
It was him! A Moon Clan girl got him to paint magical symbols all around the ship so that it would be jinxed! The cabin boy will give you an emerald lens and a bulls-eye lantern, use the lens on the lantern to get an “Emerald lantern”. Use your trusty tinderbox on the lantern to light it. Now for the symbols.

1. Cannon on the east side of the ship at the top level with the cabin boy and Lee. Use your lit Emerald lantern on the cannon to find the symbol and choose the “Rub away” option.

2. Wallchart on the northwest wall in the room with the first mate. Again, Use Emerald lantern with Wallchart and rub away.

3. Chest in the room with a whole lot of chests and crates at the north end (and lowest level) of the ship. Rub it out of existence!

4. Support on the lowest level, the most southern one. You can’t right-click on the support to “examine” it but you can use your lantern with it.

5. Tall Crate just east of ‘Beefy’ Burns, the cook. This is the last symbol you have to clean.

Lunar Isle
Finally, you’re at the Lunar Isle, home of the Moon Clan. Remember to keep your Symbol of Passage on or in your inventory at all times when you’re on the Lunar Isle. Walk up to the village and a cutscene will take place. Before you do anything, head to the northwest side of the village (not in the fenced area) and talk to the cabin boy, it’s pretty funny what he says.

Talk to Meteora, in the southwestern end of the village, and she will mention the Onerimancer. She hangs around the southeastern section of the island. Walk back to the entrance and walk south. Keep heading southeast and talk to the Onerimancer, she’s next to the Astral Altar. You will discuss the possibility for peace between the two tribes, you will agree to do a ritual. You will need three things, a Potion of Waking Sleep, a Lunar Staff, and a set of Lunar Travelling Clothes.

The Potion of Waking Sleep Head back north into the village and go to the northern end with the “chicken house”. Walk into it and talk to Baba Yaga for information about the potion. She will tell you that you need a Guam Leaf, a Marrentill, and a (ground) Suqah Tooth. Get the herbs and go kill one of the Suqahs for their tooth. There’s one just north of the village’s entrance. Keep the hide it drops, you’ll need it for later. Fill your special vial with water and use the the ingredients with it. In order: Guam Leaf, Marrentill, Ground Suqah Tooth. Head back down to the Onerimancer and give her your “Waking sleep vial”.

The Lunar Staff
The Oneiromancer will tell you that you need a dramen staff for making a lunar one. She will also tell you that you will need to use it on all four elemental altars. You must do it in this order: Air, Fire, Water, Earth. Get out your talismans/tiaras and head to the different altars with your dramen staff(s).

Air Altar: South of Falador
Fire Altar: North of Al-Kharid/next to the Duel Arena
Water Altar: Lumbridge Swamp
Earth Altar: Just south of the lumber yard, northeast of Varrock
When you have your Lunar Staff(s) made, go back to the Onerimancer for the next step.

Lunar Clothing

Helmet
Go to the northeastern side of the island and head into the cave there. Walk over to the place with the 2 gold rocks and mine one of the stalagmites for a Lunar ore. Smelt the ore into a bar and smith it into a Lunar Helm. Both of these are in Rellekka so go back and board the ship, sail back, smith the helm, sail back, and prepair for getting the rest of the clothing.

Body, Legs, Gloves, and Boots
Talk to Rimae Sirsalis in the clothing store just south of the bank and ask about the ceremonial clothes. She will tell you that you can make the torso, trousers, gloves, and boots out of Suqah hides. Go out and kill 3 more Suqahs for their hides and tan them for 100gp each, a total of 400. Get your needle and some thread (you can buy some from Rimae if you don’t have any) and make the four items out of 1 hide each.

Cape
Talk to Pauline Polaris and she’ll offer to give you the cape, if you can guess her name. Say Pauline and she’ll say that that’s just an alias, you’ll have to guess her real name.

_ane (rhymes with wood)-(rhymes with magic)-(rhymes with spade)
Jane Blud-Hagic-Maid is the answer. No wonder she goes by Pauline.
Ring
Talk to Selene and ask about the ring. She will say that it is buried somewhere around the island and will give you a clue. “From water’s source you should follow, crossing the western-most bridge and travelling further south-westerly to a bloom of blue.”
Amulet
Talk to Meteora and she’ll say that she lost her lucky tiara and that a Suqah has it. Go kill a Suqah and give her the tiara it drops. She’ll give you the amulet as a reward.

The Dream World
Give the clothing to the Onerimancer and she will give you all of the items that you’ve given her, provided you have the bank space. Head over to the bank and get your best axe (ie rune), a tinderbox, and food. Go to the ceremonial brazier that’s in town, use the potion on the kindling, light the brazier use the kindling on the lit brazier. Talk to the Ethereal Man/Woman and walk over to the platform that you can “step-on”.

Depending on which platform you stepped on, you’ll go to a different game-ish thingy. The eastern, and closest to the book, one is a race.

Obstacle Race: “The Race is On!”
Talk to the Ethereal Expert to begin this challenge. You’ll have to take the right, curvy lane and he’ll take the left, straight lane. Just do each obstacle as they come, each failed obstacle does damage so try not to die. That’s what food is for though. When you beat him you will be teleported/sprung/whatevered out of the island and back to the main one. Talk to the Ethereal Man/Woman again. Head north to the blue one next.

Dream Tree Chopping: “Chop, Chop, Chop Away!”
Talk to the Ethereal Perceptive for this one. This one is a woodcutting challenge in which you have to chop down the dream trees and stack the logs in the center. You must get 20 logs stacked before the Ethereal Perceptive does. Run to the other side and start choppin da troys, err chopping the trees. Do at least four logs in one trip and you will have no problems. Once again, talk again about what you learned. Go to the next platform on the northwest side.

Cloud Hopping: “Where am I?”
The Ethereal Guide will tell you what to do here, you must get to the other side by hopping across the dream puffs. If you fall you will appear back at the first section of this island and will have to try again. You will not take damage if you fall. Use trial and error to complete this, try writing a series of numbers that represent the different rows and what ones to jump to, 1 would be the eastern row, 2 would be the next row, 3 the next, and 4 the last. Example: 3321111233322. Talk about the lesson again and head to the southwestern platform for the next challenge.

Dice Rolling: “A Game of Chance!”
Talk to the Ethereal Fluke and he will explain what to do. When he calls a number, you have to roll the dice to make it so that the top faces add up to the number called. IE 15=6+4+2+1+1+1

The dice have a selected set of numbers that they can roll so choose your numbers carefully.

Eastern End can roll: 4, 3
Middle Two can roll: 6, 1
Western End can roll: 5, 2
Do this five times to complete the challenge. Once again talk and go to the next platform.

Fun With Emotes: “Anything you can do…”
Talk to the Ethereal Mimic to begin. He will do an emote which you have to copy, then he will teleport across the island and you will have to run to and talk to him. Again, he does an emote, you copy, he teles, repeat. Do this a couple times and you will complete the challenge. Talk about what you learned and head to the next platform, it’s right next to the one that you were at.

Number Patterns: “Communicating in Numbers.”
Talk to the Ethereal Numerator to begin.. Your job is to figure out the next number in the sequence. IE: 1, 3, 5, _, _ would be 1+2=3, 3+2=5, 5+2=7, and 7+2=9 so it would be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. Complete 5 to finish the challenge.

The Final Challenge
You will be transported to an island with two dream troImeantrees on it. There will be an NPC named “Me”, it is level 79. You must defeat… you. Right. Beat him and you’ll end up next to the Etheareal Man/Woman again, talk and read the book to be transported back to reality. Talk to the Onerimancer again to complete the quest!

A Fairy Tale Part I – Growing Pains Quest Guide

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Quests

1. Begin the quest by speaking to Martin the Master Gardener in the Draynor Village market square (you must not have pickpocked him recently, or he won’t speak to you). He’ll tell you that gardeners are suffering bad harvests, and asks you to speak to other farmers to get details.
2. You can speak to any farmer, and you need to speak to 5 of them. Some suggested farmers are the ones between Draynor and Lumbridge, next to the bar in Port Sarim, near the tree patch in Falador, near the tree patch in Varrock, north of Catherby (teleport to Camelot) or west of the Ectofuntus if you have an ectophial, but you can also speak to other farmers. Ask them if they are a member of the Group of Advanced Gardeners. They will all give you different reasons, but the last one suggests that all the problems may be related to fairies.

3. Head back to Martin, who will say that you should talk to a fairy.

Trouble with the fairies

Needed items: Spade, Secateurs
Recommended items: Dramen staff or Lunar staff, Falador teleport runes, Explorer’s Ring 3
4. Get your Dramen staff or Lunar staff and head to Zanaris.
5. Go to the Throne Room in Zanaris. You may notice that the queen is missing, instead speak to the Fairy Godfather. He tells you that the Fairy Queen is sick.
6. You need to speak to Fairy Nuff, who is located north of the bank in Zanaris. She will give you a list of symptoms and ask you take them to a mage called Zandar Horfyre.
7. Zandar Horfyre is located in the top floor of the Dark Wizards’ Tower west of Falador. Speak with him and he’ll take the symptoms list. He suggests that you seek a necromancer named Malignius Mortifer, who had fought Tanglefoot long time ago.
8. Malignius Mortifer is northwest of Port Sarim, along with the four elemental wizards. Tell him that you need help with fighting a Tanglefoot. He’ll help you if you bring him a skull from a grave near Draynor Manor.
9. Go to the north side of the manor (inside the fence surrounding it), and you’ll find a grave. Use your spade to dig while standing on the grave to get the skull. If you don’t have a spade, but you have a tool leprechaun storing it for you, you’ll be able to retrieve it from the farming patch west of the manor. A spade also respawns in the easternmost room in the manor.

Magic secateurs
10. Take the skull back to Malignius Mortifer. He tells you that you’ll need a pair of magic secateurs to fight the Tanglefoot. He will ask you to get three items in addition to a pair of secateurs, and take them to the Nature Spirit so he can perform the “ceremony of Phasma Phasmatis Natura”. You can search Global RuneScape’s item database to see how to get the specific items. You can at any time see which items you need by looking at your quest journal.

Warning: As you make your way through the swamp to the Nature Spirit, consumables will begin to rot. Therefore, it is advised to bring more than one of the consumables, or to bring Druid pouches and a Silver sickle(b)/Ivandis flail
Needed items: Secateurs, your 3 additional items, Ghostspeak amulet
Recommended items: Druid pouches, Silver sickle(b). Remember that if you have any edible items, some of them may rot in the swamps!
11. Once you have all the items, find the grotto tree, and enter it. Make sure you wear the Ghostspeak amulet, and talk to the spirit. If you have all the required items, he will enchant your secateurs. The secateurs will now have a green colour.

Fighting the Tanglefoot
12. Head back to Zanaris, and go to the bank there. Withdraw food, armour and everything you may need to kill the level 111 Tanglefoot. Remember that you will have to use the Magic secateurs as your weapon.

13. Go to the southern part of Zanaris, near the Cosmic altar, and you will see a gap through the wall which you can squeeze through (yellow dots on the map below). Then, follow the tunnels until you reach the level 111 Tanglefoot in a chamber at the end of the tunnels. Fight it, and remember to wield the Magic secateurs at all times.
14. Once you kill the Tanglefoot, it will drop the Queen’s secateurs. Take the secateurs back to Fairy Godfather to complete the quest. Congratulations!

Runescape The Eyes of Glouphrie Quest Guide

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Talk to Brimstail, and ask “Is that your pet?” and he will tell you it’s a strange unknown pet and it’s called Izzie, he will now start to talk about his research. He will then ask if you want to hear some history, once he has finished talking he will ask you to move onto the next cave, so move on.

Once in the next cave you will see Oaknock’s machine.

Now after looking and investigating things in the other room return to Brimstail and tell him that you’ve had a look in the other room. Brimstail will ask you to visit Hazelmere and ask him about Oaknock. Hazelmere can be found east of Yannile, along the path, past the green spiders and up the ladder.

Hazelmere will start by speaking jibberish, “Blah, blah, blah, Brimstail”, after a small while of you talking to him he will evantually speak english by reading your mind, he tells you of the story of the battle and how Glouphrie became untrusted.

He will now give you a token, head back to Brimstail’s cave.

Speak to Brimstail and tell him about what Hazelmere told you, you will now see a cutscene and a small gnome ghost will come and break the machine, speak to Brimstail again.

He will tell you that the machine must be fixed, now go over to the machine and click repair to find out what need’s fixing, you will be told you need to get:

Oak logs
Maple Logs
Something to stick it together
A Saw & Hammer
Firstly go back and speak to Brimstail and ask more about fixing it. He will explain a bit more about making the glue. He will tell you about runes, you need a mud rune, you can collect the sap by using a knife on a evergreen tree, evergreen tree’s can be found all over RuneScape, now use your pestle and mortar with your mud rune to grind it into dust, now use the dust with the bucket of sap and you have magic glue. Now bring your hammer, saw, oak and maple log, and magic glue back to Brimstail’s cave.

Now repair the machine and return back to Brimstail, you will be given two more discs.

Now return to the machine and use “Unlock”. Firstly, put your yellow triangle disc in and press the green button, now choose “Unlock” again now this time, return back to Brimstail and he will give you 3 more discs, go back to the machine again go to the side and look at the machine panel, the numbers you are going to get is totally random so here’s a short explanation.

The chart above shows each colour’s value:

Red – 1
Orange – 2
Yellow – 3
Green – 4
Blue – 5
Indigo – 6
Violet – 7
This value of the colour is multiplied by the amount of sides the shape has to get overall value.

Circle – 1
Triangle – 3
Square – 4
Pentagon – 5
E.G Green Circle – 4*1 = 4

As for the exchanger, it gives out the value of what you have put in.

Once you have unlocked the machine, you will see Brimstail’s pet turn into an Evil Creature, go back and speak with Brimstail, he will tell you that the Evil Creature’s are spies. You must kill them all, start by killing the one in Brimstail’s cave.

Now head to the Grand Tree, and kill the one by King Narnode, now head up the ladder to the top and kill the one near the gnome pilot, then back down and north near the Battle Tortoise to kill one more, now head south to the enterence and kill another, now head back up north near the agility course to kill another near the spirit tree, in total there is six evil creatures to kill.

Now once you have killed all six creatures go to King Narnode at the bottom of the Grand Tree and tell him about the creatures.
