Farming FAQ

Posted by: amber  //  Category: Runescape Skills

Do Gardening boots affect your Farming abilities?

Gardening boots do not affect the Farming skill or the growth of plants in any way; they are currently only worn for decorative purposes.

How come I got less vegetables or fruit than I did on another Farming patch?

This is because when your crops have grown, it is random how many you get each time. However, you can use compost and super compost on your Farming patches; this helps increase the amount of produce that you harvest.

I’m a novice to the Farming skill. How should I start to increase my levels?

Always keep a varied selection of seeds in your bank, it is always good to plan ahead.

Plant crops in more than one patch and be super efficient, but make sure you keep an eye on them in between other things. Don’t forget to take teleport runes to save tedious walking time. Obviously, plant the highest level seed that you can, this will give you greater experience.

Raking patches and making compost gives Farming experience, too, so if you are of a low Farming level you may want to rake some patches or make some compost while you wait for your plants to grow.

It would also be worth buying an amulet of Farming from a Farming shop…

How do I fill my watering can?

Find a place in RuneScape that has a symbol of a drop of water: this will show the location of a water source. You may use the watering can on the water source to refill your watering can. Possible water sources include fountains and sinks.

My potatoes/onions keep getting diseased!

Plant some marigolds, these will drive off the nasty bugs that cause disease. You can cure your plants by using some plant cure available from the Farming shops and NPCs around the Farming patches.

I don’t want to stand and wait for my patch to grow. Isn’t there something else I can do?

Pay a local gardener with produce to watch over your crops, this saves a lot of effort on your part. For other ways to look after your plants, please see Farming Basics.

Brimhaven (Members)

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Brimhaven is a scurvy port full of sea dogs and scabrous wretches. The pirates and thieves that make up most of the population are quite friendly, though, possibly because they’ve got a good supply of Karamja Rum.

The settlement is quite popular among those wanting to visit the depths of the TzHaar city, or adventurers looking to explore the jungles of Karamja.

Location

Location of Brimhaven

Brimhaven is quite an isolated port, given that it lies on Karamja which is a large island separated from the main continents by broad seas and oceans.

Close by, to the east, beneath the volcano, is the TzHaar city, where many would-be heroes go to test their mettle against the mighty TzTok-Jad, or to earn TokKul to purchase some high quality TzHaar weapons and armour.

North-west, across the seas, lies the city of East Ardougne, which you can travel to and from by boat.

Points of Interest

Brimhaven’s points of interest

There aren’t terribly many shops in Brimhaven, but they do have an amulet merchant, Davon, who will happily deal in amulets in the shadowy jungle, south of the town.

If you’re here to learn the secrets of Karamja’s jungles, or to train your Agility, then Brimhaven is most certainly the first place you want to visit.

North and north-east of the town are tree patches, where you can grow spirit and fruit trees.

In the east of the settlement is the entrance to the Brimhaven Agility Arena, watched over by its ‘owner’, Cap’n Izzy No-Beard (and his parrot).

Then again, there’s much to be said for joining the salty curs and vagabonds in the bars and trying a wee tipple of that infamous Karamja brew… Arr!

Personalities

Kangai Mau
Kangai Mau is one of the very few natives of Karamja that ventures into the town of Brimhaven. Normally a private people, the natives of Karamja have sent Kangai Mau to the town to look for a lost Totem, and he cannot return to them empty-handed.

Cap’n Izzy No-Beard
A more cunnin’ pirate with a parrot you’ll be hard-pressed to find outside of Mos Le’Harmless, but Cap’n Izzy is also the owner and proprietor of the Brimhaven Agility Arena, and there’s booty to be had, if that’s your property.
Kangai Mau can be found in the Shrimp and Parrot.   Cap’n Izzy No-Beard can be found at the entrance to the Agility Arena in the north-east of the town.
Lubufu
It’s a rare man that’s as grumpy as Lubufu, and a rarer man still that knows the secret to catching Karambwan, the octopus delicacy found in only a few spots around Karamja. Lubufu is both grumpy and knows the secret to catching Karambwan.

Alfonse the Waiter
Alfonse is a bit of an odd chap to come across in Brimhaven, as his manners are impeccable and he’s never seen drinking anything more powerful than water. He takes care of what might be called ‘customers’ at the Shrimp and Parrot, sole purveyor of Karambwan in Brimhaven.
Lubufu can be found yelling at people who disturb him on the beach south of town.   Alfonse can be found in the Shrimp and Parrot.
Quests

The following quest can be started in Brimhaven:

  • Tribal Totem (Members)
Jungle Dangers

Monkey (Level 3)
Monkeys are common across Karamja and are extremely simple for anyone to dispatch without any difficulty. They are quick and agile, though, and under some circumstances you’ll need a Ranged weapon or spell to have a chance of killing them.

Snake (Level 5)
Snakes are drawn to the warmth and moisture of jungles, so it’s no surprise that Brimhaven has a good few thereabouts. The snakes here are no real threat, and are not poisonous, so they make easy fodder for young adventurers.
Monkeys can be found in the jungle around the town.   Snakes can be found in the jungle around the town.
Thief (Level 16)
Thieves are going to be common in any town so overrun by pirates and other undesirable ‘wholesale plunder redistributors’. They are unlikely to go for your pockets once you show them ‘a thing or two’, though, as they’re essentially cowards.

Pirate Guard (Level 19)
When successful pirates retire – and any pirate that gets to retire is obviously very successful – they gather up their loot and their plunder and set up a nice home. Of course, other less retired pirates might then look to get to their booty, so pirate guards become quite necessary.
Thieves can be found wandering the streets of Brimhaven.   The Pirate Guard can be found by the well in the north-east of town.
Pirate (Level 23)
Avast! Pirates be the commonest of scoundrels and seadogs ye be findin’ in Brimhaven, and a surly bunch o’ privateers they are, too. Most Wholesale Plunder Merchants in Brimhaven be there to be drinkin’ grog, but some few – the daftest keelhaul-able of them – be there to drink Karamjan rum (which be better than Braindeath, but still dangerous to yer memory, ye see).

Guard Dog (Level 44)
Guard dogs, like pirate guards, are a bit odd in Brimhaven, but you can only assume that the non-pirate inhabitants have to protect their property somehow. Given how vicious and well-trained these dogs are, they’re sure to deter the most determined raiders.
Pirates be found wherever there be grog in Brimhaven.   Guard dogs can be found in an enclosed pen in the middle of town.
Jungle Spider (Level 44)
The native creatures of Karamja are at least as dangerous as the piratical inhabitants of the town, and jungle spiders are an excellent example of this. They won’t crunch under your boot, and they won’t flee in terror from a flame, but they will try to sink their poisonous fangs into you and carry you away for a later snack.
Jungle spiders can be found in the jungles around the town.
Miscellaneous

  • Once you’ve completed the Shilo Village quest, you will be able to use the cart service located north of the town to travel quickly and comfortably between Brimhaven and Shilo Village.
  • Near the cart, while you’re in the area, you might like to work on your Farming by making the most of the fruit tree patch.
  • The pirate’s bar in the south of town is a good place to pick up items: there are full and empty beer glasses and a bronze hatchet.
  • The entrance to Brimhaven Dungeon (there be dragons! Metal dragons!) lies southwest of town.
  • Near the entrance to the Dungeon are some pineapple plants, which are excellent for making supercompost, or a variety of exotic foods and drinks.
  • North of town is a sizeable gold mine, and there is another near the entrance to the Brimhaven Dungeon.

The Restless Ghost

Posted by: amber  //  Category: Holiday Guides, Runescape Quests

Start: Begin by speaking with Father Aereck in the Lumbridge Church.
Skills: Able to defeat a level 13 Skeleton.
Quests: None!
What You Need: An Amulet of GhostSpeak.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

——————————————————————————–

Getting Started

Firstly, talk to Father Aereck and ask him if he has a quest for you. He can be found inside the Lumbridge church, standing around the altar. He says that he needs someone to make the ghost in the Church Graveyard go away. He mentions that his friend Father Urhney may be able to help you.

Leave the church and follow the road north until you reach the General Store, and then head west along the dirt path until it ends. Now head southeast through the swamp, or head south along the ocean until you find a small house. Talk to Father Urhney and tell him that Father Aereck sent you. Say that a ghost is haunting the graveyard, and he gives you an Amulet of GhostSpeak so that you can talk to it.

Helping the Ghost

Go back to the church in Lumbridge and walk into the graveyard behind it. The ghost is inside the small building in the corner of the graveyard, and you may need to open and close the Coffin to get him to appear. With your new amulet on, speak to the ghost, and when he asks if you understood him, tell him that you did. He says that a Warlock has stolen his skull, and that may be why he can’t rest.

Now leave the graveyard and follow the road north until you reach the General Store. Head west along the same dirt path you traveled before, but this time keep to the same direction until you reach a road. Follow it south into the Wizard’s Tower, and climb down the ladder. Walk along the corridor to the door on the east side. You’ll see an altar; search this to find a Skull. A level 13 Skeleton will then jump out at you, but since you already have the skull, just run away!

Visit the ghost back in the Graveyard, and tell him that you’ve found his skull. He needs you to put it in his coffin, and after you do so he will be able to rest.

Imp Catcher

Posted by: amber  //  Category: Runescape Guide, Runescape Quests

Start: To begin this quest you have to speak to Wizard Mizgog located in the Wizards’ Tower.
Skills: A bit of patience and the ability to defeat Level 2 Imps.
Quests: None!
What You Need: Red, Yellow, Black and White Beads.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

——————————————————————————–

Getting to the Tower

Home Teleport and Walking: There are two methods to doing this. The first is simplest and would be best used by players who have just begun playing RuneScape as it doesn’t take you into places where you could possibly get lost. To use the first method use the Home Teleport spell. From there walk north and continue following the path until you come to a crossroads. Either read the signpost or head south to arrive in Draynor Village. Keep following the road South and you will come to a big stone bridge. Head across that and you are in the Wizards’ Tower.

The second method would be suggested to players who have explored the F2P area a bit more then people who have just started playing RuneScape. Head north once again until you come to the General Store. Walk behind it and you will see a dark brown path. Follow this through a dark looking forest filled with Goblins and the occasional Spider. Once you get to the end of the brown path you should be near the bridge to Wizards’ Tower. Just walk across like in the other method and you are there.

For Members there is also these added options of getting to the Wizards’ Tower. One of them is to use an Amulet Of Glory to teleport to Draynor Village and then head South to the Wizards Tower.

Another method is to use the Fairy Rings. With a Dramen Staff equipped use any teleport to Zanaris spell and then with the Fairy Ring behind the tower use the code “DIS”.

Getting Started

To begin the quest you need to speak to a wizard within the tower. He is located on the third Floor and there is a picture below to help you identify him from the people on the third Floor.

Start talking with Wizard Mizgog and ask him for a quest PLEASE and you will find out that he needs help with something. It would appear that a rival of his; Wizard Grayzag has enlisted the help of hundreds of Imps. He tells you that the Imps have stolen his four magical beads and that they are located all over the kingdom.

He would like your help in getting them back.

Acquiring the Beads

There are two ways of getting the beads you need to finish Imp Catcher. By far the easiest way is to buy them off of another player.

But if you are up for a challenge and think you have a bit of patience, try and kill the Imps to get them back. The Imps are spread all over RuneScape and you can find them nearly anywhere there is a major city or town. The most common places to find them is south of Falador, just below the wall. Around all the entrances and exits of Varrock. They are difficult to kill because the quite often teleport around and out of battle before you get a chance to deliver the final blow. If you are a higher level, this will be no problem as you can just one-hit-kill them. Another problem is that their drops aren’t always 100% beads. They will drop Bread, Ashes and Flour Pots just to name a few. Just stick at it and you will get the beads in no time at all.

Finishing the Quest

Once you have the beads head back to the Wizards’ Tower and talk to Wizard Mizgog again to give them back to him. He will mention that he needs to find out if they’re his beads and then he will place them into a device on his table. This triggers a cut-scene and ultimately the end of the quest.

Rewards

An Amulet Of Accuracy
875 Magic Experience
1 Quest Point
Amulet of Accuracy

As shown above one of your rewards for completing this quest is an Amulet of Accuracy. As the name suggests it is used to boost your accuracy for Ranged skills like Magic, but it can also increase your accuracy for hand-to-hand combat.. Below are the stats for it.

Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: There are no required skills for this quest.
Required Items: Cat or kitten, Amulet of Catspeak, 5 death runes, one set of logs, tinderbox, 4 potato seeds, rake, seed dibber, shears, bucket of milk, chocolate cake, white robes and skirt (desert clothes will do) and a vial of water.
Required Quests: Icthlarin’s Little Helper and Gertrude’s Cat.
Suggested Items: Enough runes to teleport to Falador and Varrock recommended. Also, a games necklace is useful if you want to get to Burthorpe fast.
NPC: Unferth, Hild, Bob, Gretrude, Reldo, the Sphinx, Apothecary.

A TAIL OF TWO CATS QUEST WALKTHROUGH
First of all you need to go to East Burthorpe and speak to Unferth. Take your kitten/cat and Catspeak Amulet with you. Talk to him and promise to help him. He asks you to go and talk to Hild. You will find her in the house Northeast of his house. Hild will ask you to bring her 5 death runes. Hild enchants your amulet, now you can ‘open’ it and turn it to find Bobs location. When the amulets eyes blink, it means Bob is in that direction. When the mouth also goes up and down, Bob is very close to you. After locating Bob, talk to him. He doesn’t remember his parents. Now your kitten/cat asks you to visit Gertrude. Go visit her, she lives in the house just to the Southwest of Varrocks West gate. Gertrude doesn’t know anything about Bob’s parents. But after a conversation with your kitten/cat, it asks you to go talk to Reldo the librarian about ‘Robert the Strong’. Go and see Reldo in the Varrock Palace library. Reldo tells you a lore. Now you need to go back to Bob. You’ll need to find him again using your enchanted amulet. Once you find him, talk to him. After talking to Bob, your kitten/cat asks you to go to Sophanem to talk to the Sphinx. Go there and find the Sphinx. The sphinx asks you if you want to see a cut-scene. Watch it. After the cut-scene, you are asked to ‘take care’ of Unferth. Go back to Unferth in East Burthorpe. You will now have to do some chores for Unferth. Start by weeding his garden patch with your rake, then planting potato seeds in it, you don’t need compost. You have to wait for the potatoes to finish growing before the chore is done, that’s why you should start with it. Next, make his bed, search the shelves to get a recipe, give him food by putting milk and chocolate cake on the table and make a fire in the fireplace by using logs and tinderbox on the fireplace. For the final chore use your shears on Unferth to make him nice and neat. You can ask your kitten/cat for help by talking to it. After you have finished all of your chores, Unferth says that he’s very sick and asks for a doctor. Luckily there’s an Apothecary in Varrock. Go to Varrock and talk to him. The Apothecary asks you to choose a nurses or a doctors hat. Put on the white top and bottom. If you don’t have these yet, the desert clothes sold in the Shantay pass will do. You will also need a vial filled with water. After putting on all the white clothes, go back to Unferth. Talk to Unferth while wearing the nurses or the doctors hat and white clothes. Do not wield any weapons or shields while talking to him. Unferth tells you that he’s cured and that you can go and look for Bob. Bob will tell you some stories about his travels and then give you your reward. This completes the quest..

Runescape SMOKING KILLS QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Speak to Sumona at Pollnivneach.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Quest Length: Short.
Reward: 5000 Slayer, access to a new Slayer Dungeon, Slayer Master and Slayer Incentives.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Quests: The Restless Ghost, Icthlarin’s Little Helper.
Required Skills: Level 25 Crafting, Level 35 Slayer, Level 85 Combat.
Required Items: Catspeak amulet, Ghostspeak amulet, Cat, Face mask, Earmuffs, Ranged weapon or attack runes.
Monsters: Mummy Warrior (Level 54) or Mighty Banshee (Level 90), Banshee Mistress (Level 111), Insectoid Assassin (Level 141).
NPC: Sumona, Catolax.

SMOKING KILLS QUEST WALKTHROUGH

Speak to Sumona in Pollnivneach. She can be found in a building just east of the player owned house portal in the north end of the city. Agree to help find her sister and then walk slightly south to the well within the nearby courtyard.

You must be wearing your Catspeak amulet at this point. Attempt to climb down the well and you will be interrupted by Ali Cat. He will warn you of the danger that lies down the well, as you cannot wear ear muffs and a face mask at the same time to protect yourself. Ali Cat will send you on a mission to seek out Catolax, a dead Slayer master.

Head to the Agility Pyramid by either taking the carpet to Sophanem and running east, or using your Pharaoh’s sceptre to teleport to the Agility Pyramid. Alternatively players can run from Pollnivneach to Nardah across the river and then run south from there, if players have completed Spirits of the Elid the bank available in the city can be helpful during the quest. From the Agility Pyramid head south-east through the gap in the desert wall to the darkened area of swamp and push reeds as you walk north to the steps. Go up the steps. Make your way to the passage, with the water source (you can use this to fill your waterskins), and head north along the west wall and you will find a Sealed Door with the option to search.

When you first get into the tomb you will see a pickaxe stuck in the wall, remove it as you will need it later. You will need to have your cat following you for this step. At both sides of the room you will see a small hole in the wall, which is big enough for your cat to fit through. Send your cat through one of these holes and it will open the door to the side of the wall. Equip something that allows you to do a ranged attack. Run into the room that you have just opened and once you have killed the three skeletons that appear, destroy the broken door. You cannot destroy the door whilst being attacked, which is why you need to kill the skeletons. If you do not have ranged or magic attacks then just run in and do some damage to the door before the skeletons can attack, then keep running out and back in again until you have destroyed the door. Once the door is destroyed, progress through the tunnel.

It is possible to disable the traps, but it is difficult. One space behind each wall trap there is a very faint marking that has a ‘Search wall’ option, chose this and you can temporarily disable the nearby trap. If you fail to disable the traps they will do around 15 damage each time, you can run past all the traps and get straight into the final room whilst only taking damage from the traps once, this is not recommended but it is much quicker. When you reach the room at the end you will be attacked by four monsters, around level 50 combat, kill them all. You will then see a Mummy Warrior (Level 54) wake up out of the sarcophagus. It will drop a key, use this on the locked door next to you, this will allow you to pull the lever which will disable the remaining traps that you have not disabled (apart from the ones down the middle corridor). Make your way to the opposite room, search the tombs, then kill the four enemies again. Once again, kill the Mummy Warrior and unlock the door, then pull the lever..

Once you have pulled both levers, you will safely be able to make your down the middle corridor. Equip your Ghostspeak Amulet then talk to Catolax. You will learn how to combine earmuffs with face masks. To combine your Earmuffs and your facemask, select one of the item and use on the other item. This will produce Masked Earmuffs. Now you are ready to find Sumona’s sister. Equip your Masked Earmuffs and make your way down the well, once down you will need to follow the north corridor, until you get to a room full of Mighty banshee (Level 90).

Head to the north of the room where you will see a long red barrier, at which you will need to kill a Mighty banshee and pick up its “Banshee voice” to pass. The ensuing battle is very difficult without the aid of range protection prayer. It is highly recommended that you use it to be able to easily conduct the fight. Once you pass the barrier, you will have a short talk then you will begin combat. You are first attacked by the Banshee mistress (Level 111) who will use magic and melee to attack you. Once she is at a low health, she will call the four Insectoid Assassins (Level 141) to attack you, they will use range. Once the Banshee mistress is dead, Jesmona will kill the four Insectoid Assassins. Return to Sumona to complete the quest.

NPC: Kathy Corkat, Devin Mendelberg, Herman Caranos, Wise Old Man, Arnold Lydspor, Franklin Caranos, Wizard Frumscone, Malignius Mortifer and Master Crafter.
SWAN SONG QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Go west along the outside of the fence of the Gnome Stronghold, then head north from the hill giants you pass until you reach a river with a boat. You will see Kathy Corkat and Devin Mendelberg by the boat. Talk to Kathy and ask her to take you downstream. She will ask you for 50 gold pieces, but if you have your unlocked Ring of Charos, you can charm her to take you there free. After this she will take you to the island for free in the future. Move northwest from the row boat and talk to Herman Caranos. Ask him if you can help him and agree to do it. You will be asked to go fetch the Wise Old Man. Go to Draynor Village (Glory Amulet teleport recommended) and talk to him. He agrees to help you, but he needs five blood runes, ten lava runes and ten mist runes. You can make the lava and mist runes yourself or you can buy them from players. Blood runes can be bought from various rune shops or players, or dropped by monsters. After you bring him the runes, he will teleport to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony where you started the quest. Go to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony and talk to Wise Old Man. If you have all your fighting equipment, tell him that you’re ready to go on. After entering, you will be ambushed by level 79 Sea Trolls. Fight them and eventually they will stop coming from the sea. Kill all of them and proceed through the gate. The Wise Old Man will ask you to find Herman now. Go to the house on the eastern side of the town, east from the Furnace and talk to Herman. The Wise Old Man will teleport next to him and they will start discussing of ways to defend the colony. You are asked to help Franklin Caranos the engineer and Arnold Lydspor the storemaster. Franklin is near the colony gate, Arnold is in one of the big storage sheds. Here’s how to help them:

Arnold Lydspor: After talking to Arnold he will give you a net. Now run to the northwest corner of the colony and catch five monkfishes. You will be attacked by level 65, 87 and 101 Sea Trolls while fishing. After you have caught five monkfishes, bring them to Arnold. He wants you to cook them. So, go to the southwestern corner and cook the monkfishes on the range. If you burn any, you can catch more from the same fishing spot. Bring Arnold five cooked monkfishes to make him satisfied.

Franklin Caranos: After talking to Franklin you will learn that you need to get five iron sheets, and he will give you a tinderbox. Grab a pickaxe and the hatchet from the utility heap to the southeast of Franklin. Now exit through the gates to the south and enter the hole to find an iron mining spot near the hole. Mine at least five iron ores and go back through the hole. Keep the pickaxe. Cut one log from the space between the gate and the hole and proceed to the Colony. Go to the furnace, smelt the iron ores into bars and then put your log in the firebox on the other side of the press and use your tinderbox on it. Now the press is hot enough to handle the iron bars. Use them on the press to make five iron sheets. Go talk to Franklin and he will give you a hammer. Now just go to the west side of the colony to the wall that is marked red on the minimap. Use the sheets on the broken parts of the wall to fix them. Now talk to Franklin and then Herman again.

Herman still has some work for you. Talk to him and he will ask you to go to the magic guild in Yanille and talk to the Wizard Frumscone on the bottom floor. He will not loan you his zombies, but gives you another name, Malignius Mortifer. You can find him wandering around a bit south from Falador. Note that you can now go to the top floor of the Wizard’s Guild and take the south portal and you will be teleported to the Dark Wizard’s Tower, which is southwest of Falador. When you talk to Malignius Mortifer he will ask you for seven normal bones. You can go a bit east to kill the chickens in the farm for the bones or kill guards on Falador gates for fast bones. After giving Maliginus the bones, he will ask you to go to the crafting guild and gives you a brown apron. Wear the apron and go west to the crafting guild. Talk to the Master Crafter with brown hair and he will tell you to make a pot with an airtight lid. Mine two spaces of clay from the mine in the guild, go pick a jug from one of the tables on the bottom floor, fill it with water and use it on both clays. Now use them on the pottery wheel and make one pot and one pot lid, then heat them in the pottery furnace. Now go back to Malignius. He will give you the bone seeds in your pot and teleport you back to the Colony. Go talk to Herman. Now, you will see some nice cutscenes of the fight. Finally, a big queen will appear and you have to fight it. The queen uses mainly magic attacks, so when fighting it is good to keep the protect from magic prayer on (if you have at least 37 prayer). Beware though, the queen can drain your prayer. The queen also uses melee attacks, though, so it is suggested that you either melee it with good armor and protect from mage, or you range it from a distance with protect from mage on. After killing the queen, walk back to Herman and talk to him to finish the quest.

Description: You will need to do this if you have the amulet as well. Make sure you have your prayer points filled if you plan on using magic or melee protection. Look on your world map for a house south of the Baxtorian Falls, it’s east of the gnome stronghold and north of Ardougne. From here head a little north east until you see a small stone path leading to a tombstone. Use your pebble with the tombstone to get down. If it says that nothing happens, you are carrying an item that is not allowed down there, like a piece of armour, a weapon or some runes. Otherwise, you will be teleported into the tomb. Use any potions right here and put your prayer on, now run to the next room and you will find yourself attacked by a level 84 moss giant. He uses a combined magic and melee attack, so he hits with both in one hit. This means that either of these blocks will get his damage down, but not stop him completely. Kill him with your bare hands to get the consecration seed. If you don’t have glarial’s amulet, head further west to a chest, quickly open and search it with left clicks, since there is another moss giant here. Run back to where you started and up the ladder. You will have to go all the way back to the quest start and talk to Eluned. She will enchant your seed.

PLANTING THE SEED
Items for this part: Rope, Glarial’s amulet, spade, some food and something to teleport with.
Description: Take all the items for this part and go to the starting location of the waterfall quest. It’s in the house north-west of the tomb where you got the pebble. Go to the west outside the house to find a raft. Use the raft to get down the river. You will crash halfway. Go to the south of your little island and you will see a rock with a “swim to” option. Don’t use this, use your rope on the rock instead. Here you will see a dead tree. Use your rope on that as well. You will find a door, go through it. From here, take the path to the eastern room. Go to the creates located the furthest to the north. Search them to find a key. Now go back to the main room and then west. Go past the fire giants to a locked door. Use your key on it to get through. You will find another key on the floor here. Pick it up and use it on the next door to the north. You will be inside the room where you finished the waterfall quest. Go to the urn and left-click the seed while standing next to it. You will dig a hole, bury the seed and see a small crystal tree growing. It will disappear right away. Either teleport out or walk outside the waterfall and get inside the barrel there.

THE REWARD
Description: Go back to Islwyn to claim your reward. You can pick either a crystal bow or shield as part of the reward. This completes the quest.

ROCKING OUT QUEST WALKTHROUGH

Speak with Bill Teach and ask him about Rabid Jack. He’ll tell you to go meet with Young Ralph, who’s been locked up in “The Rock” prison just off of Karamja. Buy a set of pirate clothing at Mos Le’Harmless and then head to Rimmington. Talk to the customs officer and convince him you’re a pirate. The customs officer will ask you about about a ship and the answers to his questions can be found on a noticeboard outside the customs office. He will finally agree that you’re a pirate, and will ask you to put all your stuff in the nearby locker. These items will go into your bank. Once you’ve stored your inventory and equipment, you’ll be placed under arrest and taken to The Rock.

You now need to figure out a way to talk to Young Ralph who is in the cell next to yours. To do this, follow the steps below.

Shout through the barred window to try and talk to Young Ralph
Pick up the tin cup and use it on jail door thrice at which point the guard will throw stew at your shirt.
Tap/listen to the pipe near the jail window and you’ll receive a pipe.
Talk to the guard to get an ink bottle and some paper.
Search for the accordion in the rubble.
Use the ink bottle on the paper.
Use the ink bottle on the sharp rock.
Use the sharp bottle on the accordion.
Use the pipe on the accordion.
Use the inky paper on the accordion.
Lay out the shirt with stew on it on the perch rock.
Use the newly made vacuum on the seagull.
Use the vacuum containing the seagull on Ralph’s jail window!
Shout through the barred window
Young Ralph will explain to you that he cannot tell you the story of Rabid Jack because you’re not a true pirate. He explains further that you will need to obtain five marks from five pirate captains. The five pirate captains are Captain Izzy No-Beard, Redbeard Frank, Captain Donnie, Brass Hand Harry, and Bill Teach. Go to the east side of the island and dive off the pier to get off the island.

Get off the island and go to the Brimhaven Agility Arena. Speak to Captain Izzy and ask for his mark. Go back to the prison by talking to the customs officer in Rimmington. Once you’re at the jail, retrieve the lockpicks from under the mattress. Go upstairs, kill a Customs Officer (Level-35) and wear the uniform and scimitar he drops. Talk at the door and ask for evidence. Find the file for Captain Izzy’s friend, then give it to the officer in the same room. You will receive the brooch. Escape and return to Captain Izzy to get his mark.

Go to Port Sarim and talk to Redbeard Frank; ask for his mark. Go to Mos Le’Harmless and ask Brother Tranquility for a letter. Take the letter back to Redbeard Frank, who will say it’s not good enough proof. You will then ask if a letter from one of Captain Donnie’s men would count, to which Frank says yes.

Head to Braindeath Isle and talk to Captain Donnie by the farming patch (you need to be wearing your pirate clothing when you talk to him). He’ll give you half a set of orders, and will inform you that the other half was “accidentally” carved into 50% Luke’s leg. If you did not bring charcoal with you then you can get some by going through the gate behind 50% Luke and searching the crates behind him. Use the order form on 50% Luke’s leg with charcoal in your inventory to take a rubbing. Take this back to Redbeard Frank to get his mark.

Talk to Bill Teach in Mos Le’Harmless, then climb upstairs at the inn to talk to 50 Ships Mufassah. Mufassah will tell you that the idol of many heads is still on the last ship he sank, off the coast of Dragontooth Isle. Grab your Ghostspeak amulet, diving gear and ecto-tokens; then head off to Port Phasmatys. Head off into the docks to the north and speak to the Ghost Captain to be taken to Dragontooth Island. Dive at the anchor to the north-east, then swim to the front of the ship. There will be a Karamthulu swimming around with a key; catch it and take the key. Climb aboard the ship, go up the stairs and retrieve the crowbar from the chest. Take it into the base of the ship and use the crowbar to free the idol from the debris. Take the idol back to Bill Teach.

Brass Hand Harry won’t talk to you unless you have first spoken to Bill teach, so do that now. Then, Harry will tell you he needs you to make a spare hand for him to print with his mark. He will give you broken hands for you to pull apart and make a new one. Break each piece up, then use your bronze wire on the pieces and an interface will pop up. Rotate and position each piece into place to complete the hand. Talk to Brass Hand Harry again, and he’ll give you an ink pad and paper. Use the hand on the ink pad, then the paper. Show the mark to Harry and he’ll give his approval.

Speak to Captain Braindeath. He asks that, in exchange for his mark, you convince the barman of the Rusty Anchor to stock his “rum.” He will also give you a number of disguises to help. Go to Port Sarim and ask the Barman for some “rum.”. The Barman will say he doesn’t stock it because there isn’t enough demand. You must convince him otherwise. First, talk to the Barman and choose the option “I’ll have a drink… And you have one too!” Keep doing this until the Barman is drunk. Then run outside and put on one of the disguises. Come back in and ask for “rum.” Do this for each of the disguises, then take them off and talk to the Barman again. He’ll give you an order form for “rum”. Take this to Captain Braindeath, who’ll give you his mark.

Once you have all five marks, head back to the customs office in Rimmington. Talk to the customs officer, and you will ask for a folder for your “confession.” Hand it to the officer, then get incarcerated once more. Break out of your cell with the lockpick, steal another customs uniform and go upstairs into the evidence room. Talk to the locker officer and ask for your own file to get the marks. Go back into your cell and talk at the barred window to hand them to Young Ralph. Young Ralph will then tell you the tale of Rabid Jack. Enjoy the cutscene, and the quest is complete.
