How the Grand Exchange works

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Understanding the Grand Exchange is important to trading. Free players may have 2 slots, while members may have 6. Players may not sell an item immediately after buying it, or buy an item immediately after selling it. More specifically, when an item is traded, a timer of exactly 4 hours is started, and the opposite transaction for this type of item may only be conducted when the timer has expired. The timer does not start over if additional items are traded. For example, if you were to buy some nature runes at 2 p.m., you may be able to buy more at 5 p.m. but still be able to sell all of them at 6 p.m. when the original timer expires.

There is no limit to the amount of items a player may sell in any given time period. However, all items have limits on the number that can be bought in a given time period. This also uses the 4 hour timer.

Not all items have the same buy limit. The following are buy limits for a selection of items:

  • Runes, essence, flax, logs, ores: 25,000
  • Bars, bolts, arrows, feathers, ashes, herblore seconds, dragon leathers, planks, food: 10,000
  • 4-dose potions and summoning pouches: 5,000
  • Most cheap armour and weapons (up to rune): 100
  • Battlestaves: 100
  • Most amulets and rings: 100
  • Most expensive armour and weapons (barrows, 3rd age, godwars, pvp): 10
  • Rares and spirit shields: 2

If an offer is placed in the Grand Exchange, and it is a valid offer (not still on the timer), the game will search for all offers meeting your price or better, and instantly complete those trades, getting the prices of the already existing offers (not some sort of compromise price). If the offer is then not fully completed, it will wait until it is found by people placing in offers. Thus, all trades occurring in the Grand Exchange occur instantly for one person and not instantly for the other.

Basically, if you are trying to merchant, you do not want your half of the deal to be the instant half because you could have gotten a better price by waiting.

It also is important not to panic while trying to buy or sell items when you still may be on the timer, because your trade will not be completed no matter how good your offer is. Many people appear to not understand this, and put in buy offers for maximum or sell offers for minimum when they are locked out. Then, when their timer expires, the offer becomes valid and is snapped up by a lucky person.

A common misconception about the Grand Exchange is attaching special meaning to the median price. In reality, the median price is the average price of yesterday’s trades and may no longer be relevant.

In general, items are always rising in price or falling in price. If an item is rising in price, an attempt to sell it for median price will be instantly completed, and an attempt to buy for median price will not be instantly completed. The opposite is true for items falling in price.

Imagine that you could buy an item instantly, then sell it instantly. As an example, let’s say that whips are 1,800k median price, and you instantly buy for 1,850k, and instantly sell for 1,801k. This means that at the current time it is possible to buy or sell whips for any price between those two, but not outside this range. Of course, if you were buying, you would want to buy for maybe 1,802k, and if you were selling, you’d want to sell for maybe 1,849k. You want to be the person who gets a good deal by getting people’s instantly completed offers. You want to pay as little as possible, or sell for as much as possible, so that you beat out the next person in line for those instantly completed offers.

Notice the characteristics of this example: the item is rising in price, so the best buy offer is just above median price, but the best sell offer is much more above median price. If the item is falling in price, the best sell offer is just below median price, but the best buy offer is much more below median price. This model is not true if the rate of price change is too high; in some cases, an item may be completely bought out at the maximum price, or completely dumped at the minimum price.

Runescape COLD WAR QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Speak to Larry at the Ardougne Zoo.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward:5000 Agility, 2000 Crafting, 1500 Construction, ability to make clockwork penguins, access to Agility course.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Quests: None.
Required Skills: Level 10 Hunter, Level 30 Agility, Level 30 Crafting, Level 34 Construction.
Required Items: 10 oak planks, 10 steel nails, hammer, spade, clockwork (made from a steel bar), normal plank, silk, raw cod, swamp tar, 5 feathers, mahogany plank, soft leather.
Monsters: Icelord (Level 51).
NPC: Larry, Penguin, Farmer Fred.
COLD WAR QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Speak to Larry who is near the penguin cage in the Ardougne Zoo. He will ask if you want to observe penguins with him because he is suspicious of them. After you agree, he will tell you to get materials to construct a shelter out of 10 steel nails and 10 oak planks. Bring these to the entrance to Keldagrim, near Rellekka, where he will be waiting, or simply tell him you have the materials and he will take you to the iceberg.
Slightly northeast of where you arrive will be a firm snow patch. Use the planks on this patch to construct a Bird Hide. Cover it in snow by digging near it with the spade. Tell Larry that you’ve finished building it and he will invite you in to observe. A short cutscene will show two penguins meeting and communicating with emotes. Pay attention to the three emotes they use and try to remember this series for later (random for each player). If you miss it the first time, you can use the hide again in order to see the same cutscene. Talk to Larry again. He wants to infiltrate the penguins, but won’t tell you how until you leave the iceberg by using the boat.

Talk to Larry once you get off the iceberg to discover he has developed a clockwork penguin. Rather than letting it just walk around randomly, he will use a spell to shrink you so that you can control it! You’ll have to be the one to construct the penguin. The design is very similar to that of any clockwork toy. You simply need to add a piece of silk. Go to your house and make the clockwork penguin on your crafting table. Return to Larry in either location and ask to return to the Iceberg. You will see the Bird Hide has been completely destroyed. Speak to Larry to find that, while it may be safe to put on the penguin suit, there are no penguins around to infiltrate. You will suggest that you try to infiltrate the penguins at the Zoo, which Larry agrees to. When back at the zoo, speak to him again to be shrunk into the penguin suit.

Enter the Penguin Cage and find the one penguin you can speak with. He will refuse to carry on a conversation until you give the appropriate greeting. The greeting is a series of three penguin emotes that was in the earlier cutscene. Every time you get one wrong, the penguin will tell you that you have not greeted him correctly and you will have to start over. You will speak to him about learning how to fly. The penguin will wish to send you to the ‘outpost’ with a mission report. At this point, another penguin will suggest you speak to the operatives in Lumbridge before heading to the outpost.

Head to Lumbridge to speak to the operatives. Larry will be waiting near the sheep pen gate to shrink you. The penguins are wandering around under a sheep costume. In order to speak to them, you will have to perform the emote sequence again. However, even after doing this, they will not speak unless you say a secret phrase, which you need to get from the Zoo penguins. Speak to Larry again, and he will offer to teleport you back to the Zoo. Dawn the costume again and speak to the penguin. After talking about Palingrad, the penguin city, you will bring up the fact that you don’t know the phrase. If you are wielding a Ring of Charos, the penguin will immediately reveal the phrase to you. Unfortunately, if you are not, the penguin will not break protocol and tell you without a good reason. Speak to Larry again and he will suggest either cod or an object of magical power. Return to the cage with a raw cod and use it on the penguin. Speak to him again and he will tell you the phrase is “Do not trust the walrus.”

Head to Lumbridge and speak to the penguins under the sheep again. Now that you have told them the secret phrase, they will tell you that they cannot do much because people are always trying to shear them. They will send you to investigate the farmer, as they believe he is trying to have them assassinated. In return for this investigation, they will tell you how to get to the outpost. Turn back into a human and speak to Fred in his house just outside the sheep enclosure. He will appear to know absolutely nothing about the penguins (no matter which option you choose), so go back into the penguin suit and talk to the penguin operatives again. After telling them about Fred - either option works - they will tell you to go to the outpost. They will tell you it is on the iceberg you were originally on, simply hidden behind what appears to be an avalanche. The operatives give you the password “cabbage”.

Get out of the penguin suit and speak to Larry again. After telling him what happened, he will offer to teleport you to the iceberg again. Accept the offer. Speak to Larry to be sent, finally, to infiltrate the penguins. Head north and speak to the KGP Agent south of the Avalanche. After you use the secret handshake and give the password, he will ask for your ID. Since you don’t have one, you’ll need to get one. Speak to the only penguin nearby, Noodle (a member of the Fettuccine Mafia), who will offer you his wares, a new ID card and a report you appear to be missing. He will provide these in exchange for five feathers and a swamp tar. Give these to him and he will present you with a KGP ID Card and a rather poorly written Mission Report.

Now that you’re completely ready to get inside the outpost, speak to the KGP Agent. Happy to see you have an ID, he will tell you to enter the avalanche and go into the room on the left for debriefing. Enter the first western room and speak to the KGP Agent, who will relieve you of your mission reports. Having served well, you will need to complete a physical to prove you are still fit enough to continue working for the KGP. Head through the door at the west end of the room and go north to the other door to enter the agility course you must go through. Pass the penguins training for their invasion - some will even be testing your supposed methods of flight - and head to the agility course. Failing any obstacles in this course will cause you to take damage. Go into the water and avoid the moving boulders, then climb onto the stepping stones and jump to shore. Tread softly under all of the icicle obstacles and cross the ice - every failure will drive you back a step. Finally, you will reach the end, where you must speak to the Agility Instructor. He will tell you that you are done, simply exit through the gate.

Return to Larry and tell him about the army you saw. He will send you back to gather the war plans the penguins are making. He believes they will be in the best guarded room in the entire outpost - and you get to go there! Head back into the outpost and attempt to go past the large doors. Sadly, you are not permitted to pass. Head back to the room on the east where Ping and Pong are surrounded by musical instruments. Speak to them to find that they need instruments they can play without thumbs - bongos and a cowbell. Leave and speak to Larry again to find out where to get these instruments. He will suggest you steal a cowbell from a dairy cow, then make bongos from soft leather and mahogany. Head to any dairy cow (there’s one in Lumbridge) and steal its cowbell. Use your soft leather on your mahogany plank to make Penguin Bongos.

Return to the outpost with the instruments. A cutscene will show the two bards singing their song. Upon finishing it, a KGP Guard will enter to shut them up. This is the Guard who stopped you from opening the doors earlier, so take advantage of his absence to go in. Head into the room on the east to check out the plot, but you’ll be caught. A cutscene will show you, caught as a human by the anti-magic defences. Pascaling Pax will have the scientists take your disguise and order the guards to take you to the Ice Lords. You will be put in a cage with the Ice Lords. You must kill an Ice Lord before you are able to escape. Once you have, open the door at the west end of the cage to escape. Head to the east end of the room and go into the chasm to appear back out on the iceberg. Go to Larry and tell him about what you saw in the War Room. He will tell you that there is no reason to panic just yet, but that we need to prepare. The quest ends with an ominous cutscene showing a gigantic penguin, similar to your clockwork penguin.

Runescape BIG CHOMPY BIRD HUNTING QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: South-east from the Ogre city (Gu’Tanoth) from the watchtower quest. Speak to an ogre named Rantz. He is hungry and wants you to help him make arrows for his unusually large bow, so he can hunt the Chompy Bird.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: Few exp in ranged (around 700), cooking (around 1500) and fletching (300), Ogre bow, ability to fletch ogre arrows and ability to cook Chomby bird.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: Level 5 Fletching, Level 30 Cooking, Level 30 Ranging, ability to kill level 64 wolves and defend yourself from level 48 and level 70 ogres.
Required Items: Woodcutting axe, feathers (around 50 to 100, just to be safe), knife, chisel, weapon and armor (to kill a wolf, and defend yourself from ogres).
BIG CHOMPY BIRD HUNTING QUEST WALKTHROUGH
First step is to walk a little to the south from him and chop yourself some logs from the Achey trees. You’ll need around 5 logs - Rantz himself wants 6 arrows and you will probably want a few of your own.
Next, all around the hill area you are in you will encounter wolves. Go a little further south west from the Achey trees and you will find one. Kill a couple and use your chisel on their bones. Then, fletch arrows as per usual - use knife on logs, use feathers on shafts and use tips on feathered shafts. You need around 10 arrows.
Head back to Rantz and present him with the arrows. He then tells you about the toads, that his two sons like to play with. Remember to ask him all the questions you can, or else you wont be able to open the chest. Next step is to talk to the boys, which are inside a cave directly north from Rantz. On your way you will notice the ogre spitroast.
Speak to the boys and you discover they use a bellows to inflate the toads for fun - charming. They also tell you their father took the bellows off them and locked it in a chest, which you will find in the north-west part of the cave. Open it and search to find the bellows.
Head back down to where you found the wolves, and just to the west you will find a swamp. Try using the bellows on a toad - it tells you that the air is too thin. The solution is to use it on the swamp bubbles you will find in the swamp, at the southern end of the swamp pond. You get three shots with the gas filled bellows before you need to fill it again. Use the bellows on a toad again and you will be able to catch it. Get a few - at least three.
Head back to Rantz and present the toads to him. He will show you where you need to place them to lure the birds out.
Go down and place a toad on the spot. Rantz will take a shot at it, but he will miss. If you speak to him, he complains that your arrows are weak. Ask him to give you a go at shooting. He gives you his bow.
Head back down and place another toad. Wield the bow and arrows you have left, when the bird appears, range it. You’ll kill it fairly easily. Pluck the carcass and take the raw bird back to Rantz. He wants you to cook it as well.
He’ll tell you to ask the children what they would like with their dinner. Its different from person to person what they want on their Chompy, but here’s a quick list of where to get it all:
Onion: To the west of the swamp, there’s a fire and some ogres, right around there.
Doogle leaf: North-west of the swamp, respawn of 4.
Equa Leaf: You can get this south-east of Rantz, south of the place you placed your toad for the bait.
Tomato: South of the Wolfs.
Cabbage: North of the swamp where there is a bear.
Potato: south-east of Rantz.
Use the bird on the spitroast. Present Rantz with his delicious seasoned Chompy bird and the quest is complete.

RECOMMENDED MONSTERS TO KILL ON RUNESCAPE

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Skills

One: Go to Lumbridge where the chickens are located and kill lots of them. Collect their feathers for fly fishing, bury their bones for prayer levels, and cook their meat to get your cooking levels up.
Two: Cows are another good thing to kill. Bury their bones for prayer; keep the cow hide for crafting, and meat for cooking.
Three: Fight Black Knights. They drop quite good items and bones to bury. They also drop steel bars for smithing.

Guide to 99 Fishing, Cooking, and Firemaking

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Skills

Dedicated to Fouisgras the rs character. This is how I got to 86 fishing and 99 cooking, until jagex bansticked me for a BS reason. Enjoy the guide and to your prosparity in rs.
————————————————————————–
Fishing is the basis for all runescape money made via skills. Many will disagree, but this is my belief. With 99 fishing, one can aquire 99 cooking and much gold. With a time investment, you can achieve anything in runescape with 99 fishing.

NOTE: The calculation of these levels is rough. It all depends on how many you fish you burn, how many salmon you get compared to trout, ect, ect. There is a hidden meaning to this guide though.

THERE IS 1 GOLDEN RULE. SAVE EVERYTHING. Most of the beginning fish will be saved to gain valuable cooking exp which will save much time and money in the future! Save everything! Including those 39 shrimp from level 1-5!

Lets start off with level 1- 0exp shall we?
—————————————–
Levels 1-5= Shrimp with a small net. No brainer. I recommend south of Al Kharid Bank as there is a bank very close, and as I say above, you must save everything. You must fish 39 shrimp.

Levels 6-25= Sardines bait fishing with a fishing rod and some bait. Fairly annoying task. 39 Sardines to level 10, at which you will catch 223 Herring using the same method. Probably will be more of a mix between the herring and sardines once you hit level 10. either way it’ll be around that number.

26-55= Fly fishing is a must here. I strongly reccommend barbarian village and banking your fish at the edgeville bank to the north. To reach 30 for salmon you’ll need 111 trout. After that, you’ll need about 3k feathers to be safe. odds are you’ll only use like 2.5k of them but you’ll be catching a mixture between 2.2k salmon and 3k trout.

56-90= If you want levels and you want them fast, then the only way to go here is LOBSTERS!!! Head down to Catherby and fish lobsters to 68. At 68 you’ll make your move to your new perminate home! THE FISHING GUILD!! Where you’ll be spending what seems like eternity for the next few weeks. Continue lobsters at the guild until 90. 57,553 lobsters for this baby. GOOD NEWS! When you cook all those, and the stuff before, you’ll be around 92 cooking.

91-99= In order to finish off this hellish quest you need sharks from 91-99. Only way to do it. I wouldnt suggest sharks before this as the loads take too long and you get more exp faster with lobsters. 69,892 shark. Have fun. GOOD NEWS THOUGH! Once you cook some of those, you now have 99 cooking. And 99 fishing. Congrats. More good news! For level 99 cooking you’ll only need around 29k of those sharks, so that leaves you with around 41k sharks left to sell! If you get 900ea for these (easy to sell for 900ea), you now have 36.9mil to use up.

LETS GO GET 99 FIREMAKING EY? EASY LEVEL 99 AND A REALLY COOL CAPE!

Same as before, start level 1, 0 exp
———————————-
Levels 1-15= Get off your bum and go cut some regular trees down. Merry christmas, you now have lvl 15 fm. 61 normal logs.

16-30= Same as before, go out and cut 183 oak logs and burn them.

31-45= 535 Willow logs this time. If you have a bit of work ethic in your body go cut them yourself. If not, who cares? You have 36.9mil to use up. Go buy em or something.

46-60= Go buy 1,573 Maple logs. Not like it’s gunna burn a hole in your wallet or anything….

61-99= Your home free buddy. Go buy 63,016 yew logs for 290ea NO MORE OR CASTRATE THOSE NOOB MERCHANTS WHO PUSHED THE PRICE! Ahem….uhm yes.. go get 63,016 yew logs for 290ea costing you 18.75mil.

Congrats you have 99 Fishing, Cooking, and Firemaking and 18.15mil left. Go buy yourself a pretty hat or something.

The real reason of this guide is not to show you how to get easy 99’s. Partially because there are no easy 99’s. It was to show you what the power of a little bit of work ethic can do. If you do this, you’ve been through hell and back and you can tell people what you’ve done while they stare in amazement at your capes and your work ethic. Everyone benifits. Money, respect, and a few purdy capes. Enjoy yourself.

level your ranged level in Runescape fast

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Skills

Want to level your ranged level in Runescape fast? Here’s how.

Ranging is one of the best choices when pking. Rangers hit high-damaging attacks in quick succession, and hit over and over again. Their disadvantage is that they are lightly armored, and take heavy damage from other rangers, and armored warriors as well.

Here’s your guide as to the quickest way to level ranged in the f2p world.

You will generally want the best equipment available for your level, and a large supply of bronze/iron arrows. Iron or bronze because it is the most cost effective way.

Note that there is a bit of an overlap between the selections of monsters. It’s generally the player’s choice when to move on to the next set of monsters.

Level: 1-15

Monster: Chickens

This is the best start for ranging, as chickens will not damage you, and you can sell the feathers for about 5 gp each. Each chicken drops about 5-15 feathers, and they sell fairly well on the Grand Exchange. There are chicken pens south of Falador, and north-east of Lumbridge. You can train prayer from picking up and burying their bones.

Level 11-25

Monster: Cows

Cows work pretty well until level 25. They are fairly good xp, and you can train prayer from their bones. I wouldn’t bother with the cowhides, it’ll slow you down too much. There are cows at both the crafting guild, and north-east of Lumbridge.

Monster: Monks

Another option is to go to the monastary, and kill monks. They are north-west of barbarian villiage, just south of Edgevile. You can heal using them, and they are good experience. Can train prayer on them as well.

Levels 26-40

Monster: Barbarians

Barbarians are in barbarian village. In the hall, they spawn along with food. Stand behind the tables, and farcast. This is fairly good exp, and this is how I got up to 40. It gets slow after 30 though. It is near a bank, which adds to convenience.

Levels 36-60

Monsters: Edgeville Guards

They are located at Edgeville. You simply step over the wilderness ditch, and you can range them with impunity. This is generally the fastest f2p spot to train ranged, and it is seldom crowded.

Another option is to go the stronghold of security and kill the level 27 minotaurs. They drop iron arrows fairly frequently, so you can sustain your training indefinitely there, and are good experience up to level 70, or you can go to the Varrock sewers and kill moss giants.

Levels 60+

Monsters: Lesser Demons

After doing Dragon Slayer, you can go down to Crandor and kill the lesser demons there. Once you get them non-aggressive, you can range them with impunity, as there are several safe-spots.

Well, that’s all!

Big Chompy Bird Hunting Walkthrough

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Uncategorized

What you need: 100 or more feathers (can be done with less but they’re cheap so why not play it safe?), a knife, an axe for chopping trees, a chisel and 6-10 wolf bones. You can gain wolf bones from level 64 wolves that are near the quest giver, but if you’re lower level you might consider spending around 4000 gold to buy them from the exchange.
Skill Requirements: 30 cooking, 30 ranged and 5 fletching
The Quest Reward: 2 quest points, 262 fletching xp, 1470 cooking xp, 735 ranged xp and the ability to make ogre arrows and wield them with the ogre bow.

This quest is started by talking to Rantz, an ogre located in an area called Feldip Hills, southeast of Yanille. Look for the quest marker on the map. You can get there easily by using a ring of dueling to teleport to Castle Wars arena then walking southeast (follow the impassable southern wall for a while and turn south when you’re passing Gu’tanoth). Rantz’s first task for you is to make some ogre arrows, specifically a set of six. You will want to make more for the hunting of a big chompy bird later. The only special item you need here is the Achey tree, which can be found just south of Rantz and more southwest around the swamp. The swamp is also a good place for higher levels to gather wolf bones free.

Once you’ve collected about 6 logs from Achey trees, carve them with your knife into ogre arrow shafts. Flight the arrow shafts by combining them with feathers, then use the chisel on wolf bones to make the arrowheads. Finally, combine the flighted shafts with the arrowheads (right click the arrow selection and choose make all to speed thngs up).

When you’ve got your arrows, give them to Rantz and he will tell you that you now need fat toadies. Listen to everything he has to say (click all the questions). When you’ve heard it out, go north into the cave and talk to his children. They’ll tell you they had an ogre bellows that they aren’t allowed to play with any more. It’s in the chest to the northwest. Choose unlock to remove the rocks from the top and snag the bellows. Now head back to the swamp.

Try to use the bellows on a frog and it’ll tell you to try some denser air. Use the bellows on the swamp bubbles (gross) and then try the frogs again. They’ll blow up. You’ll be allowed to catch three of them at once. Return to Rantz and ask him where to put the frogs, and he’ll point to the south. Go to where the marker is flashing and place a frog. Run away and talk to Rantz and let him know you placed the bait, then stay back. He’ll shoot at the bird when it comes. When he misses, offer to give it a go. Equip your bow and arrows and head south and place the bait again then scoot a full screen away. You can adjust the camera to see the bird at long range and lay in on him. You should have the opportunity to get a few shots off. Try using rapid fire or accurate shots. If you need to try more than two times, head back to the swamp and get more toads.

When you’ve finally got the meat, your cooking skill will come into play. Talk to Rantz again to find out what seasoning he would like. He’ll tell you to ask his boys what they’d want as well. The vegetables are in the following locations: Onion, Doogle Leaf and Tomato are west of the swamp. The onions come from the ground and a tomato can be found on the second stool from the swamp. Cabbage and Potato are both to be found southeast of Rantz. Equa Leaves are southeast of Rantz as well, but on a peninsula. When you’ve got all the ingredients, head back to the spit and cook the Big Chompy Bird meal. Talk to Rantz to wrap things up.

How to Achieve 99 Fishing in RuneScape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Uncategorized

Getting level 99 fishing is one of the longest objectives to do, but it is also a rewarding one because it’s a good way to get coins. Reading this article could help you become level 99 in fishing on Runescape.

Non-members Method
Stock up on supplies. You will need 2 small nets, 2 fishing rods, 2 fly fishing rods, fishing bait, feathers, a harpoon, and a lobster cage, you can buy these supplies and more from Port Sarim. Although this sounds like a lot of coins, it is not that expensive.
Fish 40 shrimps. You can find them south of Lumbridge. Shrimps are good because you don’t have to worry about bait or feathers yet because you only need a small net. Continue doing this until your fishing is level 5.
Fish 40 sardines. You can find these fish where you found the shrimps. Now you will be using your fishing rod and fish bait. Do this until your fishing level is 10.
Fish some herrings. Fish in the same area. You will still need your fishing rod and bait. You will still continue to catch sardines at the same time. Continue this until your fishing is level 15.
Fish some anchovies. Get your small fishing net and fish in the same area you were already fishing in. You will catch shrimps when you fish these. Fish these until your fishing level is 20.
Fish 68 trouts. This time you get to go to a different place. Go to Lumbridge River and fish there. You will also use the fly fishing rod and your feathers to catch the fish. Fish for trouts until you fishing level is 25.
Fish 93 pikes. You will still be in Lumbridge River, but you will go back to using your fishing rod and bait. Keep getting the pikes until your fishing level is 30.
Fish some salmon. Don’t be to jumpy to move to another place because you will still be fishing in Lumbridge River. However, you will be using your fly fishing rod and feathers. When fishing salmon, you will also be catching trout at the same time. Do this until your fishing is level 35
Harpoon 186 tuna. This time you will move to a different location; but you will need a lot of money because it takes 60 coins to go to Karamja and back. Also, you won’t need any bait anymore! All you need is a harpoon. Harpoon the the tuna until your fishing is level 40.
Cage 714 lobsters. Now you can start making money off of these types of fish. You will stay on Karamja Dock, but you will be using a lobster cage. Cage these until your fishing is level 50.
Methods such as lobsters, sharks, swordfish are very slow methods to 99. The fastest way (proven) is to complete the Swan Song quest. This enables you to fish monkfish. Monkfish are faster than lobsters and sharks, heal 16, and give more EXP than any other fish in the game. Another alternative, which is commonly used by nonmembers is to fly-fish from the earliest moment possible to the moment you reach level 99. It is one of the fastest ways to gain experience.
You may want an iPod, MP3 player, or music on your computer because fishing can get boring at times.
Another way to fight boredom is to chat with the other people who are fishing near you.
If you want to make more money while fishing, sell the fish raw. Raw fish often sell for higher than cooked fish.
You shouldn’t have any items that you don’t need when you fish. You’ll need to go to the bank/cook more often
Join a clan; RuneScape has recently added a clan chat feature, and there are surely other people as bored as you that may wish to chat.
Multitask while doing this. For example, play another game, or do homework.
Check your character often. You don’t want to be killed or teleported by a random event stay where you are when the fishing spot moves, or stay there with a full inventory.
Watch for whirlpools and big fish. They’ll snatch your equipment.
If you have done Shilo Village Quest, then fish there until you want to fish for something higher; you can also lvl 4-5 levels per day, which makes it the perfect place to fish for levels.
You can also feed the fish to your cat.

How to Get 99 Fishing in Runescape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Guide

Hello, and welcome to my guide to getting 99 Fishing on Runescape. Getting to 99 Fishing is no easy accomplishment, so what ever you do, I suggest you never give up. Member and Non - Member descriptions will be give for each level increment.

Part I. Introduction

Hello again, and good luck because you are about to embark on long, and rewarding quest. Achieving 99 fishing is not going to be easy. You will need to stay strong and persevere throughout this entire goal. There will be tough times ahead, but if you do not give up, you will eventually succeed and be the envy of others in Runescape with your Achievement Cape. I wish you good luck.

Part II. Fast Experience

There are a couple of ways you can achieve 99 fishing, and one of those ways is by getting to 99 quickly with “Fast Experience.”

Levels 1 - 20

Items You’ll Need:
- Small Fishing Net

To start the long journey to 99 fishing, take your Small Fishing Net and fish shrimp. Shrimping is a fast way to get to level 20, if you stick with it for a little bit. Also, if you want an even faster way to get up to 20, try using a fishing rod on the same spots as you catch the shrimp. The fishing rod method will cost a little more because you will need to purchase bait, and it can be more time consuming if you do not already have the fishing rod and bait. Otherwise, fish shrimp until level 20. Fishing shrimp when you get to level 15, will let you catch Anchovies. Shrimp leveling should now go even faster. A nice shrimping place is in a place called Draynor Village because of the bank near the fishing spot.

Levels 20 - 30

Items You’ll Need:
- Fly fishing rod
- Feathers

As soon as you reach level 20, fly fishing for trout until level 30 in a river is the fastest method for experience. Do not bother with the pike because you will not catch them fast enough to get fast experience.

How to Own in Bounty Hunter on RuneScape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Uncategorized

This guide will explain how to train and own in Bounty Hunter. If you didnt know already, Bounty Hunter is a Runescape minigame. Only selected few worlds cater for Bounty Hunter. This minigame is for non members also and is a player vs player game only. If you just want the actual Bounty Hunter guide and not the training scroll down until you reach the heading ‘Bounty Hunter. But you can’t own if you are a noob, can you?

Steps

Create an account. Choose a catchy, unique username like ‘D34d Hybr1d’ or D34d R4nq3rz’. Once chosen, complete Tutorial Island.
Head to Barbarian Village and complete Stronghold of Security and Player Safety. You should have acquired 20k and two lamps. Rub both lamps and choose to level up ranged on both of them. You should have level 10 ranged now.
Ranged Training

Start training ranged. Food isn’t really neccesary here as you will be fighting in safe spots a lot, but it wouldn’t hurt to take several foods for the those trips back to the bank, when you have to leave your safe spot.
Take out from your bank, your Amulet of Power, Oak Shortbow, Willow Shortbow, Maple Shortbow and Bronze Arrows. Equipt the Amulet of Power, Oak Shortbow and Bronze Arrows.
Go to the Chicken Coop and train on Chickens until level 20 ranged. Always pick up most of your arrows and arrows are quiet expensive if you are a low level player. If you wish you may want to collect the chicken drops, such as the feathers (stackable) for fletching and fishing or the raw chicken for leveling up your cooking level or the bones if you wish to get up your prayer level.
Once at level 20 ranged equip your Willow Shortbow and train on cows. Remember again, to pick up your arrows. You may wish to pick up the cow hides to sell for 100gp+ each, the bones for prayer,or the raw meat for cooking.
Once level 30 you are ready to move on from the Cows. Head to the Dwarven Mine and find the scorpions. There should be a few rocks (near some stairs) which you can use as a safe spot. Picking up arrows is optional here as you may get attacked by scorpians if you leave the safe spot. Scorpians do not drop anything.
At level 40 Ranged there are three monsters you can train on, Hill Giants, white knights, or you can continue to kill scorpians. Hill Giants are located in Edgeville sewers or you can access the direct Hill Giants lair (Near Varrock) with a brass key. These monsters are level 28. There should be a safe spot at the end of the lair. Again, you may or may not wish to pick up your arrows. Hill Giants give you best drops out of all the monsters you have trained on. Big Bones can be sold for 400-500gp each and if your lucky they may occasionaly drop Limpwurts used for herblore or sold for 600-700gp each.
When you reach 60 Ranged you may wish to stop or have a break from leveling up your ranged. If you you wish to continue to 60+ Ranged it’s suggested to go to Karajama and train on Lesser Demons. These babies are level 82 and hit 8’s, but don’t worry there is a couple of safe spots. Lesser’s drop runes, money (up to 600gp),very rarely rune medium helmets, and other worthwhile items. Here you should pick up your arrows and drops as the lessers are very slow at reacting.
Attack and Strength Training

Take plenty of food with you when training, just incase some monsters are too powerful for your 1 defence. Remember that you will be fighting in close combat, unlike ranged, so you will always be under attack.
If you havn’t already sold or used any of your drops from training on ranged it’s suggestted you do. Once you have done that, go to a bank and take out the following: Iron Scimitar, Steel Scimitar, Black Longsword (scimitar costs 4k and sells slowly), Mithril Scimitar and Rune Scimitar. You can put back all your ranged gear as you will not need it for this part.
Head to the Chicken Coop in Lumbridge and train your attack and strength to level 10. Again, you mayt wish to pick up the feathers (stackable) for fletching and fishing or the bones for prayer or the raw chickens for cooking.
Once you have reached 10 Attack and Strength head north of Falador and enter the monastory. There should be level 5 monks, with 15 HP! These guys are equivelent to the well known, members Rock Crabs or Experiments. If you have 24 prayer ocassionaly you may find a Monk drops a Monk Robe, pick it up, its worth 200-300gp each. They drop bones if you want prayer levels.
If you have reached level 20 attack and strength, congratulations! Head back to cows and go train on cows. Cows drop bones for prayer, raw meat for cooking, and cowhides, which sell for 100gp and over. Cows are a great money maker and monster as they have a hitpoints ratio of 4!
Finally, you may have reached 40 attack and strength, you can finally equip the ultimate weopon, the Rune Scimitar. Now, this is where the strength kicks in by itself. Head to the Stronghold of Security and start fighting the flesh crawlers or zombies, which are located in Level 2 of the dungeon. These guys don’t drop anything, so once you kill one, attack another one! Train on these for a while until you reach level 60 strength. Remember to never, ever get your attack higher the 40!
At 60+ strength you may have some difficulty trying to find a good training monster as you want fast xp but you dont want to fight a high level monster; as you have 1 defence. Well… the solution is; Red Spiders. These can be found in Varrock Sewers or Stronghold of Secrurity on level 3. The good thing about these creepy crawlys is that they always stay in a close knit group, so you will always find a kill. Food is important here as they hit a couple of 3’s every few kills. Spiders usually have a few egg respawns. Red Spider Eggs sell for 450gp.
Congratulations, if you have mastered 40 attack and at least 60 strength you have completed this part of training. Melle attack will be your most effective form of attack in Bounty Hunter, as most of your opponents will be Rangers.
Magic Training
The only reason to get your magic up is to use bind (20) and Bounty Locate (32). Magic isn’t effective in Bounty Hunter as most of your enemies will use ranged attacks.
Go to a bank and sell or use all your drops you got from training attack and strength. Desposit all your equipment except your Amulet of Power. Withdraw your Staff of Air, Mind Runes and Chaos Runes.
Go to the Cow Farm in Lumbridge and stand outside the fence. As magic attacks can be casted from a fair distance away, standing outside walls stop you from getting hit. Put your auto cast on to wind strike; attack the cows.
You are one or two more steps away from completing your beginner training to own in Bounty Hunter. Now, you will be using your chaos runes. Put auto cast on to wind bolt. Attack the cows until level 32 magic. Now you can use all the strike attacks, most bolt attack, low alchemy, Varrock Teleport, Lumbridge Teleport and the one and only… Bounty Locate!
You have finished your Magic training.Don’t worry about getting your magic level up anymore as magic isn’t effective against rangers, unless it is bind (5 second freeze).
Bounty Hunter

Hopefully you have succefully completed your training without dieing, and getting up your stats to: 40 attack, 60+ strength, 60+ Ranged, 32 Magic and you are under level 55 combat!
Bounty Hunter is a replacement for pking in the wilderness. Although this minigame is greatly disliked by a minority (pures), it is still very popular and competitive. What you are aiming for is to own in the low level crater. If you exceed level 55 combat your pure is ruined for life if your main objective is to player kill.
Put your run and have your maple shortbow and 100 adamant arrows equited. Step inside the low level Bounty Hunter crater.
Imediately upon entering you will be invincible for 6 seconds. In that 6 seconds use Bounty Locate spell and start ranging your opponent.
When your opponent gets to 1/3 of his/her health wield your Rune Scimitar and continue to attack your target. When she/he reaches 1/4 of there health pull out your Rune 2h Sword and kill them!
If they do not die. Start Ranging them until they get to 1/4 of there HP,
KO them and hopefully it should kill them. If you attempt to KO them
more then two times repeat the range then 2h method.
Once you kill them imediately eat again, to full health. Pick up the most valuable items first until you have no more inventory space. If you need to eat food to pick up something, access the risk: ‘Is it worth more then the swordfish?’ and ‘Can I sell it quickly or wear it?’ if you think yes to one of the following, pick it up.
If you have a team member, friend or another person ask to have something, do not reply and run out of the crater. If you did not kill your target then you will have a 180 sec penalty, which means you can’t leave the arena for 3 minutes. In that time people may attack you, so let them chase you around. When you lose them or cover a fair distance apart teleport to your target and repeat it need be. Thats why you need 5 Bounty Locate teleports.
