Advisors

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Once you are out and about in Lumbridge, you can call on Roddeck - a useful gentleman who is happy to offer his advice - at any time with one click of the advisor button. This button is situated to the left of the logout button.

Clicking on this question mark icon will open up the advisor system: a list of every subject that Roddeck feels you would be interested in, based on where you are, what you are doing, your current levels and even what you are holding. Roddeck knows a great deal about a variety of subjects, from skills to combat, money-making to banking, gaining health to burying bones; often it is worth just browsing the advice he offers to build up a full and comprehensive knowledge of the early game.

The advice that Roddeck offers comes in four separate forms. The first is from the man himself: by clicking on “Ask Roddeck for advice” you will get some succinct words from Roddeck about your chosen subject. These will most often be direct answers to the questions highlighted in yellow in the Advisors System.

You will also be able to “Read more on the website”, which will open a separate tab in your browser. On this tab you will find the relevant Knowledge Base page for that subject, offering more comprehensive advice, should you need it.

You can access tutorials, which will take you through, step-by-step, how to perform a particular action; for example, “Tutorial: Using the bank” will guide you to a nearby bank and then show you how to deposit and withdraw a leaflet. The tutorials can only be accessed in the starting area.

Finally, Roddeck will offer to plot an arrow to a nearby and useful area. If you are after somewhere to mine, fish or simply get some free stuff, an arrow will appear both on your minimap and your world map, directing you to a suitable area.

Once you have finished receiving advice from Roddeck, simply click on the ‘x’ at the top-right of the interface and continue to explore!

Trade margin increase

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Community

From today we have doubled (in some cases tripled) the flexibility of the player trade system. All players will notice an increase in the amount they can trade with other players.

This means accounts with fewer than 10 quest points will be able to earn or lose up to 5,000 coins in wealth every 15 minutes from trading, free players will be able to earn a maximum of 10,000 coins every 15 minutes by completing the free quests and members will have access to a maximum of 60,000 coins per 15 minutes if they have 270 quest points. Your trade margin will increase with each quest point after 10 - for example, at 100 quest points you’ll have a margin of 24,038 coins, and at 200 quest points you’ll have a margin of 45,192 coins.

This was added to the game because we wanted to offer our players more flexibility when trading or helping friends out, without increasing the threat of real-world trading.

Lead Designer - RuneScape

Note: Currently there are only 269 quest points available in the game, so no player will be able to reach the 60,000 coin margin until our next quest update, scheduled for a few weeks’ time. The trade margin does scale up to that, though, so players a few quest points short of 270 will have a trade margin only slightly below it.

FunOrb - Zombie Dawn Multiplayer

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: FunOrb

Halloween may well have been and gone, but our sister site, FunOrb, is keeping the horror theme alive with our latest release, Zombie Dawn Multiplayer: Fight of the Living Dead. Building on the popular single-player version, Zombie Dawn Multiplayer brings you 2- to 4-player shuffling action, as you try to capture and/or zombify more humans than your opponents and get them back to your research lab before the time runs out.

The more zombies you’re able to get into your portal, the more Research Points you earn. These points are allocated to the power-ups and zombie traits that you can use on your zombies (of which there are LOTS to discover) allowing you to mould your zombie horde to your own style of play. You’ll also find that if you’re able to herd a few live humans into the portal, too, you’ll get a lot more points.

The gameplay of the single-player version was always something we wanted to build on. With the multiplayer version, we’ve aimed to retain key elements of the original while building an evolutionary path that opens up more strategies the further you get into it. So, for example, dropping a hammer on an opponent’s zombie can thwart their carefully laid plans. We hope you enjoy the many ways that this game allows you to cause mayhem! This brings FunOrb to a total of 34 games, 11 of which are multiplayer.

Stealing Creation rewards system to change

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: buy runescape money

We’re working on a major change to the way in which the Stealing Creation rewards work, so we thought we’d let you know in advance what we’re planning to do. The change will take place by the end of the year and will have the following effects:

  • We’re aware that there was a bug in the first few days after release that let some players get a lot of points very quickly. This has since been fixed, but some players had already used it to get an unfair number of points. When we make the change, we will also bring everyone’s points down to a reasonable level. A player will be able to have up to 10 tools, 10 pieces of combat equipment, and 200,000 stored points. Any more than this will be lost. So if you have more than this, now is the time to use them!
  • After the change, no Combat experience will be given inside the Stealing Creation minigame. Instead, the sacred clay combat equipment rewards will give experience in the same way that the tools do.
  • Both the tools and the combat equipment will give experience at a greater rate than at present. In fact, while you are using a sacred clay tool or piece of combat equipment, the experience you gain will be doubled! (The volatile tool will still give a little more on top of this.) On the other hand, the equipment will run out of charge a bit faster than it does now.
  • The reward items will not have a set number of times they can transform; instead, they will gradually lose charge as they give you experience. Up until they run out of charge, they can be changed freely. (The volatile tool works slightly differently; it will change by itself for every 10% of its total charge that is used, and if you change it deliberately it will lose some charge.)
  • The reward points you buy items with will work differently. At the end of a game, your personal score for that game will be converted into a reward score, and it will be this reward score that you use to buy items.

Tweaks and Bugfixes on runescape

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

This week’s update focuses entirely on fixing some of the new features we have added to the game recently. Obviously we try and keep our updates bug free, but just like those pesky shrimp, a few slip through the net, so we have been busy hunting down some of the more obscure issues and correcting them. After all, improving and fixing existing updates is just as important as releasing new ones.

We’re also working hard on making July a really impressive month, packed with minigames, new spells and some rather interesting quests. We’re sure you won’t be disappointed.

Projects mentioned in June’s Behind the Scenes article but not yet released (such as the brewing minigame and the non-members’ security update) have been delayed for a little extra testing, but worry not, as we’ll make them available next month instead. And that’s in addition to all the stuff we already had planned for July…

If you were lucky enough to be at RuneFest 2010, or you’ve been able to read up on some of the events that transpired there, then chances are you’ll be familiar with some of the revelations featured in our exclusive Insider Sessions.

One such tasty nugget from the Big Questions session was that our Graphics team are planning a much-requested rework of the beloved dragon scimitar. In order to make it as impressive as all the other dragon weaponry, Mod Joe and his team have come up with a selection of alternative designs for you to marvel at.

You can do more than just marvel, though, as in the best tradition of our official player polls, we’re putting the top redesign contenders to a public vote. The design that proves most popular with our players will find its way into the game very soon. Good times!

Once you鈥檝e taken a good look at the designs below, log into the Dragon Scimitar Redesign poll and select the option that corresponds to the design you like the most, and then submit your vote. Simple!

We鈥檒l be showing you the results in one week, so don’t delay. Get your vote in as soon as possible, and then head over to the Official Polls Feedback & Ideas thread to discuss your choice with others. And, as always, just by voting in one of our polls, you’ll be entered into our prize draw to win a month of RuneScape membership.

May the best design win!

Runescape introduction

Posted by: cow  //  Category: runescape

Why do you play Runescape? Is it in your mind? Is it just there for you? Well i think i know why lots of people love to play Runescape.

Controls: Its Simple, Easy and fun. All you do is mouse click that’s all it needs a mouse click most mmorpgs are very hard and takes so much controls at once at that is very tricky but runescape Just A CLICK! isn’t that impressive!

Size: Lots and Lots of boring mmorpgs are 500Mb-3GB Now i don’t know Laptops but that is ALOT. It must take like 5 hours to download before you play the game well runescape takes about 5 minutes and is much better than most of them 3GB mmorpg games there are out there.
So Runescape is an small size file to play and easy controls but theres more!

Skills: most games don’t even work on skills but 75% of runescape is Skills they clever and very easy Woodcutting,Mining, fishing lots more to work for and even when you get 99 you get an awesome skill cape. Now 99 is determination and you can say to people “ha ha i got 99 and you got 50!” “hahahahha” Skills also gets you rich and you can “show off” with your armour

Money: this is where people start to dribble lots of people are rich and show off if you want to be one of them look at my detailed guides on how to be rich and there is f2p so don’t worry about f2p money making guides well Money is easy and simple up to 200k pr hr in f2p and 1mill in p2p. money is the best thing ever you could get up to awesome robes to gold armour now i would be nagging that guy for money.

Friends: lots of people play this and they say to them friends “why don’t you play runescape its fun easy there’s skills and money and duels” well then runescape gets bigger and bigger more than 130million have registered and 127 thousand are online at this very moment and that’s impressive for an game they even have a Guinness world record. If you have an friend you can play harder and invite them for some chatting, slaying, mining, skills anything or even a party ! friends help you grow more determination to show off to them and get 99 to say “ha ha”

Monster killing: monsters are easy to kill in Runescape but some are legendary and are brutal and no mercy if you follow my money guide and get good armour and beat these “so called monsters” you get rich and if your lucky you could get rare items that cost a fortune !

Quests: Another brutal thing for Runescape quests some give you imaginary skills, items magic spells and some even secret places now that is awesome ! Hard quests recommend a good level but easy quests are what your looking at.

Well that’s like everything to runescape. Theres so many things. That I can’t count. This is the future of Mmorpgs. All of these awesome things most mmorpg are just killing and quest but I believe that Runescape is yet to come !
