Money making guide/Crafting

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide
Effectiveness Crafting Level Requirement Details Other Requirements
***** Level 1 Buy cowhides from the Grand Exchange (for 212 coins each) and tan them into soft leather (which sells for 304 coins each) or hard leather (which sells for 301 coins each). You can also kill cows and gather the hides yourself instead of buying them.
***** Level 8 Buy gold bars from the Grand Exchange. Teleport to Falador, and smelt all those bars into amulets. Then teleport back to Varrock and sell the amulets. This method is about 2 times faster than Flax, and it earns 2 times the Experience as well. Doing this earns about 100 gold profit per bar.
*****
100,000
Level 10 If you pick Flax from places such as Seers’ Village or Lletya, and spin the collected Flax into bow strings, you can sell the bow strings for 192 coins each. Some good places to spin them would be in Lumbridge Castle or Neitiznot (requires The Fremennik Isles), as a bank isn’t too far away from the spinning wheels in either of those locations. There is also a spinning wheel on the second floor of a house in Seers’ Village which some players use to spin their Flax on the way to the bank. Another place to craft bowstrings is in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Several Flax fields, three spinning wheels, and a bank are all in close proximity in the south-east corner of the stronghold. Spinning Flax while wearing the Seer’s Village headband will make the wheel spin your Flax faster.
***** A faster method is to buy the Flax for 95 coins each which makes 97 coins per bowstring. If you wanted to make large amounts of money from using this method, you would need to have around 10,000 of bow strings. You can spin about 1,200 Flax an hour if you buy the Flax, and you spin at Lumbridge Castle. There’s a wheel on the second floor and a bank at the 3rd floor.
***** Level 25 Sanctify Olive oil(3) in the Shades of Mort’ton (minigame) to make Sacred oil (3) by repairing the temple there. Approximately 4 Timber beams, 4 Limestones, 20 Swamp pastes, and 36 Olive oil(3)s will produce 36 Sacred oil (3)s every 10 minutes if a Spirit terrorbird is used to assist in making trips to the bank in Burgh de Rott for a net profit of roughly 454,776 coins per hour. Note that all ingredients except for Swamp paste should be bought from Razmire who is located close to the temple. Sacred oil (3) is in demand both from players wishing to play the Shades of Mort’ton (minigame) as well as to cremate Vyre corpses, but may not sell very fast. Shades of Mort’ton and In Aid of the Myreque quests
***** Level 42 Players can buy seaweed and cook them, then fill buckets with sand. Use this on a furnace together and you’ll get molten glass. You can sell molten glass for roughly 500 GP each
***** Level 66 Players can make Air battlestaffs and sell them on the GE where there is a high demand for them for magic training or cast high alchemy on them yourself for a slightly less profit. These staffs high alchemise for 9,300 GP each. Buying the staffs from Zaff in Varrock rather than the GE is one of the 2 profitable method and he will sell them to you at a cost of 7,000 GP each rather than the 8,521 at the Grand Exchange. Zaff has a limited amount available per day, although this limit increases with the levels you complete for the Varrock Achievement Diary (Level 1 - 16 staffs per day; Level 2 - 32 staffs per day; Level 3 - 64 staffs per day). You can buy the air orbs from the GE for 1,060 each, attach them to the battlestaff, and sell them at market value on the GE for a profit of 1,001 each. At 16 staffs per day you make 16,016, for 32 it’s 32,032 and for 64 it’s 64,064 for 5–10 minutes work at the most. The second option is to buy Unpowered orbs and Cosmic runes ( 3 needed per orb) and to make the orbs at the air altar. This way you can buy for every 64 Battlestaves you buy at Zaff, buy another 500 Battlestaves of the GE and still make a little profit. If you use this way without buying from the GE (so only the staffs of Zaff) you can make a much larger profit per staff. Go here to see the information about the other elemental battlestaVES and find the optimal method that works for you. Effectiveness increases as you complete the Varrock Diaries.
***** Level 85 You can make clockwork cats by using a plank (196 coins each) and steel bar (1,081 coins each) with a Crafting Table 4 of a player-owned house. If the materials are bought you can make a 1,500 coin profit per cat. You may need to sell the cats at Market price to get any to sell, however. A player-owned house and level 42 Construction or access to a crafting table 4.

Runescape WHAT LIES BELOW QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Speak to Rat Burgiss at the crossroad on the path south of Varrock.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: 8000 Runecrafting, 2000 Defense, Beacon Ring, alternative route to the chaos altar.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Quests: Rune Mysteries.
Required Skills: Level 35 Runecrafting.
Required Items: Bowl, 15 chaos runes.
Monsters: Outlaw (Level 32), King Roald (Level 47).
NPC: Rat Burgiss, Surok Magis, Zaff.

WHAT LIES BELOW QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Speak to Rat Burgiss at the crossroads of Lumbridge and Varrock. While traveling to Varrock, his cart was ransacked by outlaws. These outlaws took five pages of some very important papers. Offer to get them back for him. He heard the outlaws say they were heading to a camp site northwest of Varrock. Burgiss provides a folder to put the pages in, after you have reclaimed them. Head up to the outlaws camp - due east of the Edgeville fairy ring and southwest of the Spirit Tree. Kill five Outlaws (Level 32) and use the papers they drop on your folder. Return to Burgiss and give him his folder.
Burgiss will tell you a secret. Your response makes him decide to instead give you another task which is delivering a letter that is incomprehensible to you. The letter is to be given to Surok Magis, a wizard residing in the Varrock Palace Library, so head up and speak to him. Upon giving him the letter, he will immediately destroy it and offer to let you in on a secret - he has discovered a way to turn clay into gold bars. He only needs a few more things so he can create enough gold to share with you: a bowl and a wand with the power of the chaos altar in it. He will give you a metal wand and a diary written by one Sin’keth, a follower of Zamorak who helped in the creation of the Tunnel of Chaos, hidden beneath a statue of Saradomin. Surok Magis will also tell you of a historic tome somewhere in the library which contains details on a shortcut to the Chaos Altar. Search the bookcases until you find the Dagon’hai history; this book also points to the statue of Saradomin as the entrance to the Tunnel of Chaos.

Take 15 chaos runes and the metal wand to the Chaos Altar. There are three ways to go:

The Abyss - Like any normal abyss trip, go through the abyss and into the Chaos portal.
The Wilderness - Head north and west from Edgeville and enter the Chaos Altar with a talisman or tiara.
The Tunnel of Chaos (Level 42 Mining Required) - You will need a Chaos talisman or tiara for this path. Head out the east gate of Varrock and follow the path north to the Saradomin statue.
The Saradomin Statue Use a bronze pickaxe to excavate the statue. If you don’t have one speak to Anna Jones who will give you one on Surok’s orders. Use the wand on the Chaos altar to infuse the runes. Return to Surok with the Infused wand and bowl. He must now prepare the spell, which will take some time.
To occupy you during the wait, he has a letter for you to deliver to Rat Burgiss. Head to Rat and give him the letter - after reading it he will decide to let you in on his secret. It turns out he is really the Commander of the Varrock Palace Secret Guard, acting on suspicions that Surok was trying to control King Roald. It appears in your vain wishes for gold, you have really helped Surok to finally get the items needed for his mind-control spell. The only person with the knowledge to counteract this spell is Zaff, the owner of the staff shop in Varrock. Speak with him, saying that Rat Burgiss sent you. The spell developed to counteract Surok’s mind-control spell will only work if King Roald is made incredibly weak beforehand. Zaff will give you some instructions and a beacon ring, used to summon him when King Roald is appropriately weakened. Though Surok will most likely refuse to an arrest, you have been made an honorary member of the Varrock Palace Secret Guard so you are able to arrest him.

It is time to return to the Varrock Palace Library and confront Surok. He, of course, refuses to go quietly. Instead, he orders King Roald - already placed under his spell - to attack you. In a cut scene, Surok will summon King Roald (Level 47), who, after brief disorientation, decides he must kill you. Fight him until your chatbox says “Now would be a good time to summon Zaff!” Operate the Beacon Ring, and Zaff will cast the counter-spell, then teleport King Roald out of danger. Surok will attempt to escape, but his teleportation spell will be corrupted by Zaff. Zaff has instated a permanent teleblock on the library, stopping Surok from ever leaving. All that is left is to go to Rat and tell him of the mission’s success. Though it is expected he will no longer be a problem, a closer watch is now being kept on Surok. Burgiss gives you the reward, mentioning that one day there may be a place for you in the Varrock Palace Secret Guard.

Starting location: House north-east of Baxtorian Falls, speak with Almera.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: Around 14,400 attack exp, 17,200 strength exp, 2 gold bars, 2 cut diamonds and 40 mith seeds.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Skills: Be able to fight level 86 fire giants.
Required Items: Six of air, earth and water runes. Also need a few ropes. You can get ropes from Ned in Draynor Village, or from Arheln at his boat in Catherbury.
Monsters: Shadow spiders (level 52), Fire giants (level 86)
NPC: Almera (House north-east of Baxtorian Falls), Hudan (Western side of the river), Hadley (House south-east of Baxtorian Falls).

WATERFALL QUEST WALKTHROUGH
After talking to Almera, head around to the back of her house and board the raft there. It will take you towards the waterfall, but crash half way there. You should now see a little boy named Hudan. Talk with him, use your rope on the rock on the next island downstream which has the option “Swim to”. After that, use your rope on the dead tree on the island and you should end up at the door to the waterfall. Don’t enter it yet or you will take damage.
Jump in the barrel and you will be taken off the waterfall. Enter the house just north of where the barrel took you and talk with Hadley. After that go upstairs and search the bookcase to find the book named “Book on Baxtorian”. Read it and talk with Hadley again. After that you will have to go to the gnome maze and down the ladder just before the entrance to the Gnome Village. Go to the east and you will find a lot of crates and boxes, search them and you will find a key.
*X* When you have the key, go west and open the jail door. Inside you will find a little gnome, talk with him and he will drop a lot of junk. You will search it and find a pebble, ask if you can keep it. Now bank all of your armour and weapons and go back to Hadley’s house, go up to the grave a little north-east of there. Use the pebble on the tombstone and you will be taken down into the tomb. Go west and open the chest there, search it and you will find Glarials Amulet.
Note: You will not be able to enter the tomb if you have any armour or weapons on you.
Now take the southern path and search the tomb there. You will find an urn, exit the tomb again and go to the bank. Get out the runes, rope and whatever you will need to fight level 93 fire giants etc (keep the urn and amulet), and head back to the waterfall. Once again board the raft and use your rope on the rock, then your rope on the dead tree. But this time, wear the amulet and enter the waterfall. There will be 3 paths, one going east, one directly north and one west.
Note: Shadow Spiders drain half your prayer points.
Firstly go east and you will end up in a room with a lot of crates. Search them and you will find a key. Now go to the western path and enter the room with Fire Giants, go all the way north and use your key on the door to open it, now pick up the key on the floor and go through the next door. You will now be in a room with 6 pillars, use one air, one water and one earth rune on each of them, and then use your amulet on the Statue of Glarial. Use your urn with the Chalice and you will have completed the quest.

Runescape LEGENDS QUEST WALKTHROUGH - SECTION ONE

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Speak with Sir Radimus Erkle in the Legends’ Guild and he should hand you an incomplete map. Your assignment is to complete it, make friends with the locals, and bring back a totem pole. When you’re done talking with Radimus, search the cupboard in his house for a Machete, which you will need throughout the quest.
When you’re done in the legends guild, take the boat to Brimhaven from Ardougne. Head south until you hit Shilo (or you can take Hajedys cart from Brimhaven to Shilo, it will cost you 41gp). Go in, and get your items from the bank. Bringing a prayer restore potion for this part will be a good idea, but it is not needed.
South of Shilo you should see some woods, use your hatchet and machete to hack your way in here, and start mapping the area (right click on the map Radimus gave you and select map). When you’ve mapped the western, middle and eastern jungle area, go outside again, and you should see a person named Jungle Forester, talk with him, and he will give you a Bull Roarer in return for a copy of your map.
Chop your way back into the southern jungle area, and swing your roarer. Gujuo should now appear, talk with him, and he will ask you for help freeing Sage from the evil demon who has possessed him. Gujuo will tell you about a gold bowl that you will need, and he will give you the plans for this.
To make your bowl, you will need the hammer, two gold bars, and the sketch/plan that Gujuo gave you. The nearest anvil is in the town Tai Bwo Wannai north of Shilo. Go there and make the bowl (use the gold bar on the anvil). Now go back in to the jungle and call for Gujuo again. Tell him you have the bowl, and that he needs to bless it for you.
Note: You need at least 42 prayer points to do this, if you fail you will lose 2 prayer points, and you’ll have to try again.
When you have the bowl, head back to Shilo get out some lockpicks, a pickaxe, the 7 gems, and the following runes; 1 Soul Rune, 1 Mind Rune, 1 Earth Rune and 2 Law Runes. Go back in the jungle and find the pond in the centre of the area. Try using your bowl on the water, and you’ll discover you can’t reach it, then use your machete on the Tall Reeds next to the pond, and then use the hollow reed get from this with the pond. You now have water in the bowl.
Go into the jungle again, and head west, staying at the northern part of the jungle. You should see some rocks forming a triangle, and with an option to search them. Search them, and climb down into the dungeon. You will now see a fire octagon. Investigate it, and talk with Ungadulu, he will throw you out of the octagon. Search the bookcase to the north-east and go through it.
Pick lock the big doors, smash the boulders with your pick axes, run through the death wings, and climb the wall. You should now be in a room with apparently nowhere to go. There should be a wall around there with an option to search it. Do so, and then use your runes on it in this order: Soul, Mind, Earth, Law, Law, making the word SMELL.
You can now go through the SMELL wall and you will be in an area with 7 ponds. Use your gems with all of the stalagmites next to the ponds, and you should find out what fits where. When you have placed the last gems, your character will walk to the middle of the area, a spell will be unleashed, and a book (Book of Binding) will appear on the ground. Take it and read it.
If you read the book, you should now know how to make holy water, which is a great way to defeat the demon you have to fight next.

Runescape DIGSITE QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: East of Varrock there will be a path heading south, follow it until you come along a gate. Go through the gate and into the building ahead. Talk to the Examiner to start the quest.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: 2,000 Herblore exp, 15,300 Mining exp and 2 gold bars. You will also get either a chocolate cake or something to drink.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: Level 25 thieving, 10 agility and 10 herblore.
Required Items: A cup of tea (which can be bought near east Varrock bank for 10gp or you can steal it from the stall), a pair of boots & gloves, pestle and mortar, empty vial and a tinderbox.
DIGSITE QUEST WALKTHROUGH
The Start: After talking with the examiner, you will need to go and get a signed recommendation from the curator in the Varrock Museum. Now go to the Varrock Museum and talk to the curator and ask him to sign your recommendation. Return to the digsite and give the recommendation to the Examiner.
Rock Samples: If you take the exam now, no matter what answer you pick you will always be wrong. To learn the correct answers you must go to the digsite, which is north of the building you are in. Once in the digsite, talk to all three of the students and ask them to help you with your test. Each will ask you to return their lost rock sample.
The first rock sample: This can be found by pick pocketing a workman in the digsite until you find a rock sample. While you’re pick pocketing, get a specimen brush as well, you will need this later on.
The second rock sample: This can be found in a bush south, outside the digsite by the large Urn. Search all the bushes until you find it (there should only be two bushes there).
The last rock sample: This is in the river. Go back to the digsite, pickup a panning tray in the large tent and go talk to the Panning Guide. If you ask him if you can pan in the river he tells you he is thirsty, give him the tea and he will let you pan in the river. Continue to pan all of the spots you can reach from that side of the river until you find the last rock sample. Hand over the rocks to the students and they will tell you the correct answers, remember them, or write them down which is easier.
Exams: Using the answers the students told you complete the exam and receive your level 1 certificate. For the second and third level exam simply go ask each of the student’s the questions again and they will tell you the answers you need, when you have all the answers for the level 2 exam, go back and take it, then go back to get the answers for the level three exam. For the third exam, the female student will ask you for an Opal. Pan in the river in different locations until you find the Opal, and then return to her for the answer. After getting all of your exam certificates, take them to the curator. You now have access to dig in any level digging areas.
Talisman of Zaros: Now go into the middle of the site and look for some sacks, search the sacks to find a specimen jar, next you’ll have to pickpocket a workman until you get a specimen brush, it can take some time, but you’ll get it. After this go to any level 3 digsite and dig until you find a “Talisman of Zaros” bring this item to the archaeological expert and use it on him. He will now allow you to go down into the northern winch by giving you a letter, give it to any of the workmen.
Explosive compound: Pickpocket a workman until you have 2 ropes, and go down the northern winch into the mine shaft. In the back of the mineshaft will be a workman, constantly beg him for the key until he finally gives in. Search the specimen tray near the tent, you will find charcoal. Use the charcoal with your pestle and mortar to grind it into ground charcoal. Now open the chest in the tent with the key and take the undefined powder. Use some of your tools on one of the barrels with the red X on it until it opens.
Liquid: Get the liquid from the barrel by using your empty vial on it. Go back down the southern winch and grab an Arcenia Root. Take all of this to the archaeological expert back at the building to the south. Use the undefined powder and liquid with him to discover that the powder is Ammonium Nitrate and the liquid is Nitroglycerin. Put the Ammonium Nitrate into the vial with the Nitroglycerin, and then add the Arcenia Root and ground charcoal to produce the Explosive Compound.
Underground altar: Go back to the digsite and enter the western winch again. You will notice the bricks are still blocking the way, but this time use your Explosive Compound on the bricks. Now use the tinderbox with the bricks to light it. This will clear the bricks out of the way. There will be some skeletons inside that are level 25. Go past the skeletons and in the middle of the room pick up the stone tablet.
Zamorak the impostor: Take the tablet back to the expert and he will tell you a story and reward you. This completes the quest.

Runescape BETWEEN A ROCK QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Talk to Dondakan in the Keldagrim mines east of
Rellekka and north of the mountain camp.
Quest difficulty level: Easy.
Reward: 5,000 defence experience, 5,000 mining experience, 5,000
smithing experience, rune pickaxe.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Quests: Fishing Contest must have been completed.
Required Skills: Level 30 Defence, Level 40 Mining (higher mining would be an advantage), Level 50 smithing, be able to defeat at least a level 75 enemy.
Required Items: Hammer, Cannonball Mould, Pickaxe, 12 - 24gp, 4 Gold Bars.
Monsters: Arzinian Being Of Bordanzan (level 75 - 125).
NPC: Dondakan the dwarf, dwarven ferryman, dwarven engineer, Rolad,
Khorvak.
BETWEEN A ROCK… QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Go to a cave east of Rellekka. Go through the cave and find yourself amongst some dwarfs. Talk to the ferryman and give him 2gp to cross the river. Now follow the path going east to end up north of where you got off the boat. Talk to Dondakan the dwarf to start the quest.
Dondakan will ask you to help him break through an impenetrable rock. Go back to the ferryman and over the river. To the east you will find a boat with three dwarven in front of it and south of those, the dwarven engineer. Talk to the engineer and ask him about the rock. He will tell you Rolad might be able to help and that he can be found on the ice mountain.
The ice mountain is west of Edgeville. Rolak is in the eastern house to the south of the mountain, right next to where you start the dwarven cannon quest. He will tell you about a book with information about the rock. He has lost the pages and you must go into the dwarven mine to find them.
The first page is dropped by a scorpion. Kill some of them and you’ll get the page. The second one is in an iron rock. Mine any of them and you should get the second page right away. The third one can be found in any mining cart here. Just search one. Now that you have them all return to Rolak and he will give you the book. Read the book (skipping the pages is enough) and keep hold of it for later.
Return to Dondakan after reading the book. Ask him about what he has tried so far. He will ask you to look what his boots do, wait a while and he’ll tell you they don’t do anything. Everything he has tried is useless and he asks you to come up with a good material. Use an gold bar with him and he’ll tell you that you can try it yourself but he won’t waste his gold. Now make a golden cannonball by using gold on a furnace with the cannonball mould in your inventory. You will get a nice golden cannonball. Take it back to Dondakan.
He will now fire the golden cannonball at the rock. The rock will absorb the cannonball and Dondkan suggest firing you into it, so you can see what happened to the cannonball. To do so you need schematics to alter the cannon and an golden helmet to get through the rock.
Dondakan gives you the first part of the schematics. Go to the dwarven engineer for the second part. Another part of the schematics is hidden in the back of the book. Talk to Rolad for another book if you don’t have your old one anymore. Talk to Rolad and tell him you will go to find the schematics. Now just read your book to find them. The last part is at another dwarven engineer called Khorvak who is located in the dwarven passage. Talk to him with a dwarven stout in your inventory, which respawns on the table right next to him.
Click assemble on the basic schematics. You will get a window showing you the three schematics and the basic. It’s very simple really, use the arrows to move the selected pieces up and down, left and right and the middle arrow to turn them. Doing so, just move bright white parts of the blue sheets onto the same part as in the background. So the legs of the manlike figure should be moved on top of the manlike figure etcetera. When you’re finished it will say “That’s it, it all makes sense now! If you were a dwarf that is…”.
To make the golden helmet, use three gold bars with an anvil. It will give you the option to make an bowl or an helmet, choose the helmet. Take the helmet and the schematics back to Dondakan. Tell him you’re ready to be fired through the rock.
Once inside the rock you’ll see a lot of gold around you. Mine some of it to upset the avatar of the demon inside this rock. You will need at least six gold ores to be able to fight him. The more you take, the lower his level will be. You can go through any fire wall at the end of the path to find a circle of walls of flames. Don’t go there unless you have the six gold ores, you won’t be able to go back through the flames. To defeat this demon walk to one of the walls of flames in the middle and he will attack you. He uses magic attack so if you use prayer, block against that. If you defeat him you will be taken outside, talk to Dondakan again to claim your reward. This completes the quest.
