SWAN SONG QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Go west along the outside of the fence of the Gnome Stronghold, then head north from the hill giants you pass until you reach a river with a boat. You will see Kathy Corkat and Devin Mendelberg by the boat. Talk to Kathy and ask her to take you downstream. She will ask you for 50 gold pieces, but if you have your unlocked Ring of Charos, you can charm her to take you there free. After this she will take you to the island for free in the future. Move northwest from the row boat and talk to Herman Caranos. Ask him if you can help him and agree to do it. You will be asked to go fetch the Wise Old Man. Go to Draynor Village (Glory Amulet teleport recommended) and talk to him. He agrees to help you, but he needs five blood runes, ten lava runes and ten mist runes. You can make the lava and mist runes yourself or you can buy them from players. Blood runes can be bought from various rune shops or players, or dropped by monsters. After you bring him the runes, he will teleport to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony where you started the quest. Go to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony and talk to Wise Old Man. If you have all your fighting equipment, tell him that you’re ready to go on. After entering, you will be ambushed by level 79 Sea Trolls. Fight them and eventually they will stop coming from the sea. Kill all of them and proceed through the gate. The Wise Old Man will ask you to find Herman now. Go to the house on the eastern side of the town, east from the Furnace and talk to Herman. The Wise Old Man will teleport next to him and they will start discussing of ways to defend the colony. You are asked to help Franklin Caranos the engineer and Arnold Lydspor the storemaster. Franklin is near the colony gate, Arnold is in one of the big storage sheds. Here’s how to help them:

Arnold Lydspor: After talking to Arnold he will give you a net. Now run to the northwest corner of the colony and catch five monkfishes. You will be attacked by level 65, 87 and 101 Sea Trolls while fishing. After you have caught five monkfishes, bring them to Arnold. He wants you to cook them. So, go to the southwestern corner and cook the monkfishes on the range. If you burn any, you can catch more from the same fishing spot. Bring Arnold five cooked monkfishes to make him satisfied.

Franklin Caranos: After talking to Franklin you will learn that you need to get five iron sheets, and he will give you a tinderbox. Grab a pickaxe and the hatchet from the utility heap to the southeast of Franklin. Now exit through the gates to the south and enter the hole to find an iron mining spot near the hole. Mine at least five iron ores and go back through the hole. Keep the pickaxe. Cut one log from the space between the gate and the hole and proceed to the Colony. Go to the furnace, smelt the iron ores into bars and then put your log in the firebox on the other side of the press and use your tinderbox on it. Now the press is hot enough to handle the iron bars. Use them on the press to make five iron sheets. Go talk to Franklin and he will give you a hammer. Now just go to the west side of the colony to the wall that is marked red on the minimap. Use the sheets on the broken parts of the wall to fix them. Now talk to Franklin and then Herman again.

Herman still has some work for you. Talk to him and he will ask you to go to the magic guild in Yanille and talk to the Wizard Frumscone on the bottom floor. He will not loan you his zombies, but gives you another name, Malignius Mortifer. You can find him wandering around a bit south from Falador. Note that you can now go to the top floor of the Wizard’s Guild and take the south portal and you will be teleported to the Dark Wizard’s Tower, which is southwest of Falador. When you talk to Malignius Mortifer he will ask you for seven normal bones. You can go a bit east to kill the chickens in the farm for the bones or kill guards on Falador gates for fast bones. After giving Maliginus the bones, he will ask you to go to the crafting guild and gives you a brown apron. Wear the apron and go west to the crafting guild. Talk to the Master Crafter with brown hair and he will tell you to make a pot with an airtight lid. Mine two spaces of clay from the mine in the guild, go pick a jug from one of the tables on the bottom floor, fill it with water and use it on both clays. Now use them on the pottery wheel and make one pot and one pot lid, then heat them in the pottery furnace. Now go back to Malignius. He will give you the bone seeds in your pot and teleport you back to the Colony. Go talk to Herman. Now, you will see some nice cutscenes of the fight. Finally, a big queen will appear and you have to fight it. The queen uses mainly magic attacks, so when fighting it is good to keep the protect from magic prayer on (if you have at least 37 prayer). Beware though, the queen can drain your prayer. The queen also uses melee attacks, though, so it is suggested that you either melee it with good armor and protect from mage, or you range it from a distance with protect from mage on. After killing the queen, walk back to Herman and talk to him to finish the quest.

Runescape EAGLE’S PEAK QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Ardougne Zoo.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: 2,500 Hunter, access to giant eagle transport, ability to catch ferrets and rabbits, ability to make rabbit-foot necklaces.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: Level 27 Hunter.
Required Items: Yellow dye, Swamp tar, 50 gold pieces.
Monsters: Kebbit (Level 13).
NPC:Charlie, Nickolaus, Fancy dress shop owner.

EAGLE’S PEAK QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Talk to Charlie, zookeeper in the Ardougne Zoo, who will tell you about his problems with a ferret who escaped while being transported to the zoo. Nickolaus, an associate of Charlie’s, has offered to recapture the ferret, but has not been in contact for a while. Charlie will ask you to go looking for him, telling you it would be a good idea to start looking in the mountains west of the Gnome Stronghold.

Head to the Gnome Stronghold. Then go west until you come upon the mountains. Head north until you find a path heading up to Eagles’ Peak. Here you will find a Rocky Outcrop which appears to be a door, but you cannot yet open it. Northwest of this are rocks to climb down to the campsite. If you cannot climb down these rocks, you can walk from the Piscatoris hunting area. Here you will find a tent with a campfire, some books, and some equipment lying outside. Inspect the books to find a Bird Book. When you read it, a metal feather will fall out.

Head back up the rocks and use the metal feather. Enter the tunnel and head south where you can see Nickolaus. Shout to Nickolaus, and he will pretend that he intentionally trapped himself with the eagle. After a long conversation, he will tell you that he needs you to give him a disguise that would make the eagles believe he is one of them. He suggests you go to the Fancy dress shop owner in Varrock in order to make the disguises. Be sure to pick up ten of the Giant Eagle feathers before leaving.

Head to Varrock with the pieces for the Giant Eagle costume, and speak to the Fancy dress shop owner. Ask him about bird costumes, and he will say he’s out of Giant Eagle costumes, but could make sets if given the materials. Speak to him again and tell him you have all the necessary materials, and he will give you two costumes.

Head back to the Eagles’ Peak tunnel, and go in. If you shout to Nickolaus, he will tell you to bring the costumes to him. Unfortunately he is blocked by a door, which requires three feathers to pass:

  • Bronze Feather: Go through the tunnel west of the door to Nickolaus. You will see a pedestal with a net under it. If you attempt to take the feather from the pedestal, it will be caught in the net, out of your reach. Operate the four winches in the corners of the room, and the pedestal will fall, allowing you to take the feather from it.
  • Silver Feather: Go through the tunnel northwest of the door to Nickolaus. You will see a pedestal with nothing on it. Inspect it and you will find that the feather has been stolen! You will see a set of footprints in front of the pedestal. Track these until you come to an opening. Inspect it and a level 13 Kebbit will attack you. Kill it, the silver feather will be dropped.
  • Gold Feather: Go through the tunnel east of the entrance to the cave. Take at least 6 of the odd bird food from the birdseed holder. Should you mess up the puzzle, there is a reset lever outside the maze. In order to solve the puzzle:
      1. Head south to a corner track, and place birdseed in the bird feeder there to get the west eagle to move to the corner.
      2. Go all the way southwest, then north into the niche and pull the lever.
      3. Head north of the entrance to find another lever in a small niche, and pull it
      4. Head to the southeast section of the maze and place birdseed in the bird feeder for the eagle going from east to west.
      5. Place birdseed in the bird feeder for the eagle going from north to south.
      6. Go all the way southeast and pull the lever.
      7. Go back to the same lever in the niche just north of the entrance and push it up.
      8. Put birdseed in the bird feeder slightly north of the lever.
      9. Go all the way northwest, and then west and pull the lever.
      10. Head to the southwest section and put birdseed in the western-most bird feeder.
      11. Put birdseed in the bird feeder at the corner of the tracks. Now go to the room due west of the entrance and take the Golden Feather from the pedestal.Go back to the stone door in the south part of the main cave and put the three feathers in it. You will now be able to open it. Wear your eagle costume and walk past the eagle. Talk to Nickolaus to give him his disguise. He will tell you to meet him at the campsite, so head there. Talk to him and he will teach you to catch ferrets, giving you one in the process. Go to Ardougne, talk to Charlie, and you have completed the quest.

  • Runescape Gold Secrets - Where and How

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Gold

One: GO down the sewers NORTH of varrock, run around fast, avoiding fights until you reach a ladder, just past the ghost. Go up the ladder and there will be a bear (who should leave you alone) and two piles of gold that keep reappearing! If you can be bothered that is, wait and collect as much of this beautiful stuff as you want, it takes time though…
Two: Computer controlled ‘man’ provide you with a nice sum of gold with every kill you get, once in Al Kharid i found 40 gold pieces after killing one man… hehehe! Varrok market place is another good place, the shop assistant will ‘provide you with sum money’! Not too good a place though, Varrok is usually crowded but it is a good place to sell things and trick people!
Three: The BIG secret is simple, mine! Get your mining level as high as you possibly can! When you are good enough at smithing also make loads of weapons and armor and sell them to shops or people! You can make a huge sum of money when you are good enough, I will keep you all informed if i find a Mytheral or Adaminte mining site, I have no idea of these have been created though!

ENEMIES: CHEATS, HINTS AND TIPS ON RUNESCAPE

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Guide

Goblins: These are one of the most common enemies in the game. They are usually found above ground on the outskirts of civilization. The un-armed goblins levels are roughly 2-3 for attack strength and defense, but a new player can disperse of him with some meat and a good weapon. The goblins with spears are a lot harder. Their levels are about 6-8 on attack strength and defence. Goblins don’t drop much apart from their bones and a maximum of 5 gold pieces. You can though pick other items of their bodies, I once found a wooden shield, mug of beer, shortbow (you can sell this for 40 gold in the archery store), runes, and a medium bronze helmet (not all in one goblin!) but that is about all I have found. These goblins never retreat and can be found by wells, water holes, rivers, basically anywhere near water.
Hob Goblins: These are one of the hardest monsters in the game. The only place I know of where you find thse monsters are at the ends of the Ghost town Dungeons. They look like a larger Goblin. Their stats are around 20-25 on attack strength and defence, and have a lot of hit points, maybe even 40. They can drop a nice sum of gold, sometimes up to 30, but that is quite rare. Thy can drop steel daggers (very rare) which can be sold for up top 80 gold in a store. They can also drop Limpwurt root, (when used with spider eggs and given to the Apothery you make a strength potion). On very rare occasions they drop Air Staffs, but this does not happen frequently. When taken to the Staff shop you can sell them for hundreds of gold pieces. If you walk near a strong Hob-goblin they will attack you, so take care. If they are on the brink of death they will run!

Giants: Again, these are one of the hardest creatures and can only be found around the ends of the ghost town dungeons. They look like inflated men. They have little armour and only use their fists as a weapon. Their stats are about 25-30 attack strength and defence but they have not got many hit points so I find it easier to kill them than Hobgoblins! All the time now the dungeons where the Giants regenerate are crammed with high level warriors trying to train, so if you are carefull you can survive if you are a low level. They drop Limpwurt root, and there is a rare chance that they will drop a minimum of 60 gold, to a maximum of 120 gold! They are very aggressive and will fight if you go near one. They never retreat either.
Rats: These are also one of the easiest monsters to fight. You can find them in the back streets of Varrok, the village west of Varrok and down at the beginning of the Varrok sewers. They drop meat usually and that’s all they drop. Their levels I think will never be above 1 or 2, and I only attack them for the food. They are not aggressive and don’t usually retreat. Good for bringing levels up for beginning players! They are blue colored, and surprisingly say ‘rat’ when you examine them.
Giant Rats: These rats look like inflated little rats. You can find them on the way to the hermits house, the back-streets of Varrok and the beginning of the Varrok sewers. They sometimes drop meat and are aggressive. They never retreat. Their levels I think are about 4-5 on attack strength and defence. Good level builders for beginners.
Skeletons: These are relatively dangerous creatures but are not aggressive. They look like a pile of bones walking around surprisingly. You can find them in the Wizards tower, Varrok sewers and at the Ghost town dungeon (at the start). Their levels are about 10 on attack strength and defence. They do drop gold but the most I picked up is about 10-15. These guys will fight to the death when attacked.
Armed Skeletons: They are not called this because they have an extra pair of arms, but because they have a weapon and a shield. A picture of them can be found on our main runescape page. They basically look like skeletons but with a weapon. I predict that their levels are about 15 on attack strength and defence. They are aggressive and can be found in the Varrok sewers or the ghost town dungeons. They drop Iron weapons, shields and up to 20 gold pieces. They always fight to the death and will chases you for a bit.
Spiders: Another very easy monster, with its stats about 1 on attack strength and defence. They look like orange flat things. They have 2 hit points about, and drop nothing apart from their bones. They can be found just about anywhere above ground!
Giant Spiders: These look like massive giant orange flat things, and you can find them on the river banks near Lumbridge castle. They have about 5 hit points and its stats about about 3. They can be aggressive and they retreat.
Red Spiders: These spiders drop rare red spider eggs If you take them to the apothery with limpwurt root he will make it into a strength potion. This spiders stats are around 30. He has about this many hit points too. You cn only find these at the end of Varrok sewers. They are agressive and fight to the death! It is best leave them alone.
Zombies: You can find these in all dungeons. Their stats are around 10-13 on attack strength and defence. They drop up to 10 gold and sometimes a few bronze weapons. They are aggresive and dont fight to the death usually. They will run of low on hit points! They look like tramps with their arms stuck out. They have a weird way of attacking too.
Armed Zombies: These look like Zombies but with axes. They drop weapons, gold and other stuff for you too sell. They are quite dangerous and should be avoided. Their stas are about 16-20 attack strength and defence. They are aggresive but will retreat if low on hit points. You can find them at the ends of ghost town dungeons. Try to avoid these if you can!
Giant Scorpions: These can be found in the Varrok sewers and in the mining chasm on the way to Al-Kharid. Their stats are about 10-13 on attack strength and defence. They are fast swawning and aggresive, but will run if they are low on hit points. The only things they leave you are their bones. If you re new try to avoid them. Good for mid-level level building. They are big and orange.
Unicorns: These white hoarse like things walk round most forests above ground. Their stas are about 13-15, and have about 15 hit points. They are not aggressive and retreat as often as they can! They never drop anything apart from a few rubbish bones.
Bears: These can be found in most forests, and in the opening in the Varrok sewer with the re-spawning gold. They are non aggressive. Their stats are about 12-14. They have about 15 hit points as well. They are huge, and brown. The only thing they drop is some fur, meat and bones. You can sell the fur to Barrek in Vorrok market for about 10 gold.
Ghosts: These can be found in most dark areas, including Varrok sewers. They are dangerous, stats about 15. They are very aggressive, it is best to avoid them. They usually don’t drop anything. They are dressed in blue and green and float about.
Foliage: The only foliage that hurts you are the trees in the grounds or Draynor mannor. They usually dont get to hit you, the combat only lasts one round. Stay on the paths and you will be okay. You can cut these trees down, but it is quite difficult.
Imps: They can be found in the following locations: 1.Farmhouse northwest of Lumbridge. 2.Northwest of wizard tower dock along the shore. 3.Lumbridge Castle courtyard. 4.Halfway between farm north of umbridge and Varrock/Chasm (scorpion pit) junction. 5.Near start of dock to wizard tower. 6.Entrance to chasm. 7.Near champion’s guild. 8.Near entrance to pheonix gang hideout. size=”4″ 9.In middle of western ghost town. size=”4″ 10.West of Varrock castle inside the grounds. (ust go around the castle to reach) 11.By ladder down to sewer. 12.Just north of the blackarm gang hideout. They look like small Delriths! They are small and red, and very hard to catch. They either drop red yellow black or white beads, which are used for quests. See quest guide for how to do quest. They are weak and retreat often. They are not aggressive.
Delrith: South of Varrok is a huge Stone circle, guarded by dark wizards, some of who have beards. In the middle of the stone circle is a huge Demon called Delrith. You can only attack him if you do the quest. He is big and red. To start the quest talk to the gypsy. See quest guide. His stats are around 20 attack strength and defence. As far as I know the Demon does not drop anything. It is not possible to attack him without doing the quest. He is not aggressive. He will not retreat from combat when almost dead.
Demon: This Demon is locked in a large cage at the top of Wizards tower. He looks the same as Delrith, big, red and stupid. The only way you can kill him is with some spells or archerywith bows or crossbows. His stats are the same as Delriths, and he does not drop anything. He can’t attack you when he is in your cage. This is an excellent place to practise magic and ranged attack.
Vampire: This monster is located at the bottom of Draynor mannor. He looks like a typical Vampire, black cape and big fangs. Once you have killed him he is gone forever for that character. His stats are around 30 on attack strength and defence. If you have garlic in your inventory he immediately loses 10 hit points. See quest guide for more information
Moss Giant: This is one of the most deadly enemies you can come across. He is located at the end of the Varrok sewers. It is a good idea to take a friend magician or Archer with you to help defeat these monsters. Also remember to take cooked meat with you! He has well over 60 hit points and his stats are about 40 attack strength and defence. When killed he can drop lots of times for you to pick up, including: Steel square shield, Fire staff, large iron helmet, 80-125 gold pieces, bronze 2 handed sword, long iron sword or a steel bar! Best avoid them if you can…..
Guard: These guys hang around Varrok. They are very common in Varroks bank, to guard people withdrawing large amounts of money. Their stats are about 17, and have about 20 hit points. They drop very little, and are not aggressive. They always fight to the death! If you attack someone, the guard will shout out, ‘hey no fighting in Varrok’ and will attack the person who started the fight. This is a good opportunity to run if you were under attack. Though I’ve seen high levels killing guards in three blows, so that doesn’t give you much time to run! They wear chain mail of some type and fight with their fists.
Warrior: These people are found in Al-Kharid guarding something. Their stats are about 14 attack strength and defence. They drop up to 10 gold, iron daggers, arrows and even some runes when they are killed. They also fight to the death and are not aggressive. They look like lightly armoured men with swords. Good level builders for mid level people. You can kill these guys if they are orange to you.
Witch: This Witch is found south of Al-Kharid. They drop very little, are non-aggressive. They can also be found in Draynor Manor, they’re level 25 but are weak since they don’t use magic, and can probably be beaten by anyone who could beat a dwarf or barbarian.
Thief: You find these people in Varrok, by the archery store and in the back-streets of Varrok. They usually don’t attack you unless you are weak or low level. They have stats of about 13, and have little armour and no weapon. The only things I have picked off them is 10 gold. Best to avoid them. They also run if low on hit points.
Smuggler: These are the most suicidal people I have ever come across. A new player can easily dispatch of them. They retreat quite often and only give you a few gold when killed. Their stats are about 2 attack strength and defense. Good extremely low level building up for people who started out as Wizards. They look dumb. You can find them in the back-streets of Varrok or south west of Varrok by the mining area.
Man: Harmless enemies who mingle around aimlessly. No armour or weapon makes them an easy kill for everybody! They are found wandering around anywhere above ground. The only things I have gained from killing them are a medium bronze helmet for some reason, and once I picked 40 gold off one! That is very rare though. Good level builders.
Dark Wizard: These guys are dressed in black robes and have a fluffy black beard. They are extremely dangerous, stats about 17. You can only find them around the stone circle by Delrith. They are very aggressive and don’t retreat. They will chase you for a while if you run as well. They drop black robes, hats, up to 20 coins and lots of runes. This is a good place to pick loads of runes up for your magic or for sale. You either get 7 or 12 runes of two types from each body.
Highway man: Easy enemies who drop black cloaks. You can find these guys south of Draynor mannor.
Wizards: The most common place for these people are in the Wizards tower. They are dressed in blue with a blue hat. Their stats are around 10 and are not aggressive. They sometimes run away from combat when attacked. When killed they drop their smart blue hat and robes. If you are lucky you might see one with a white beard!
Shaven Dark Wizard: These are also found at the stone circle guarding Delrith. They are more common and are slightly weaker than their bearded brothers. They drop a few runes, (either 3 or eight) and they drop cloaks and hats. They also drop a rubbish staff.
Barbarion: These are the common folk of the Barbarion village. They have blond beards and wear medium iron helmets. Their stats are around 10 attack strength and defence. Good level builders. They are not aggressive and drop a few items such as, fur, up to 20 gold pieces, bronze axes and sometimes iron maces. A difficult opponent for a weak person.
Gunther the Brave: This brave man is the leader of the Barbarions. His stats are about 27, and is very dangerous. He wanders round the main square of the village. He is not aggressive and like his minions does not run from combat. He drops up to 20 gold, a rune or two and an iron mace.
Black Knight: Again, one of the most dangerous creatures in Ruenscape. Their stats are around 40 attack strength and defence. They are dressed in all black armor, but do not drop it when killed. You can find these guys in the jolly boar inn, north of Varrok or by the Wizards tower. They can on some occasions drop up to 60 gold! The best thing this person drops is a steel bar, and some low iron or bronze weaponry. Not worth attacking yet.
Camel: Andrew once said that: “Camels will eventually allow more carrying space Date: 11-Feb-2001 12:48 But don’t hold your breath, it will be complicated to add, and there’s lots of other stuff coming first :-)”You can find them in the desert plains by Al-kharid, and they don’t do anything, and you can’t attack them.
Chicken: Most commonly found by the farm, anyone can kill them. They lay eggs, and supply you with meat when killed. They regenerate very fast. They only have about 4 hit points and can hurt you a bit if you are low level.
Cow: If you use a bucket with a cow then you will get milk.
Sheep: If you use shears with them you get wool. Used for quest, see quest guide. Not the most exciting of creatures. Maybe something will be done to them later on in the game.

    Beginner’s Guide to Runescape

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Runescape is a massive online web-based RPG that has caught a lot of interest over the past few years. It has grown tremendously, and it should have, because it’s a great game. If your new to it, then keep reading this guide will talk you through how to make a good start on the game, and give you a taste of what the game has to offer. Read on.

You start on Tutorial Island, here, you’ll learn all the basics of combat, cooking, fishing, fire making a lot of the skills basically. The tutorials on the island are very interactive, so you’ll learn most of the basics on that. What’s important though, is once you get off Tutorial Island what do you do? Where do you go? All is explained in this guide.

Once you get off Tutorial Island, you end up in Lumbridge, the starting village of Runescape. Here you’ll find a lot of low level monsters for you to kill, and collect loot off – gold pieces, feathers, bones, the lot but are you looking for a better way to start off? Being an experienced player, I would suggest that you actually look to expertise in one skill for now, and really push your development on that one skill. For example, a good skill to start with is mining. It’s requirements are very basic, all you need is a pickaxe, and the right mining area. You’ll be supplied with a pickaxe so there’s no need to worry about that.

Mining is very interesting. You gain experience in mining dependant on the ores you mine. You receive a certain amount of experience every time you mine that type of ore, and as your levels increase, you’re able to mine a much larger variety of ores.

The reason why mining is a good skill to start off with, is because you can combine it with smithing, the skill of making armours in order to make yourself your first set of armour. Plus, once you get to about level 30 mining, you can make quite a lot of money through the mining of iron and coal as they both sell for a nice amount each.

To start off mining, just make sure you’ve got your pickaxe in your inventory (or you can equip it by clicking on it in your inventory), and head off down to the nearest mines. The nearest mines from Lumbridge and one of the best to start off in, in my own opinion is the south-east Varrock mines. Just head north from Lumbridge (cross the bridge) and you should hit Varrock pretty soon (it’s best if you open up the World Map that Runescape provides you above the gaming screen). If you haven’t already, deposit all items (there is a bank in Varrock) you’ve got in your inventory except your pickaxe (if you haven’t equipped it) and head off to the mines.

Start off by mining copper, and then once you hit the appropriate level, move onto more challenging ores like iron. If you want more information on mining ores, and the level requirements to mine them along with the different level requirements for using different pickaxes, check out this page.

    Runescape Rare Items

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Rare items you say? Yep, it’s true; there are items in Runescape that are very rare and worth millions of gold pieces. Take for example a few years back, when the good old Santa Hats were dropped (believe it or not, I had a character back then). They were being dropped all over the place, and were only worth 30,000 GP each. Now look at them, going for millions!

There were also an abundance of other items dropped on special occasions, for example, Easter Eggs on Easter 2002, and the brilliant Scythe on Halloween 2003. Those were the days…

For the more recent players though, there isn’t going to be a chance to obtain a very valuable item anymore and be able to sell it a few years later. That’s because Jagex have changed the way these holiday items are given out, and I don’t think they’ll carry the same value now as they have been made non-tradeable etc.

(Gosh, this reminds me, I need to figure out the username to my character with the Scythe!)

There isn’t much more to say about Runescape Rare Items really, so here’s a little FAQ:

Q: Will there still be holiday item drops?
A: There aren’t item ‘drops’ exactly. Instead, NPCs are apparently going to visit RuneScape during the holidays and hand out a special item. These characters stay in RuneScape for a week or two and will freely hand out holiday items to any player that wants one.

Q: Why did Jagex stop doing those original drops on holidays?
A: Holiday drops were stopped after the “Halloween 2003 Debacle.” A great deal of people complained about not getting a Halloween Scythe, and Jagex decided not to have another item drop after that.

Q: How do I get a Holiday Item?
A: In order to get a Holiday item, you need to trade from another player. All tradeable holiday items are quite expensive. Scythes and Bunny Ears are not tradeable, and only people who managed to find one on that specific Holiday have one.

Q: What were holiday drops like?
A: In past holidays, special holiday items would be dropped all over RuneScape in random places and different times during the day. Usually there would be several drops, and people would be running around trying to pick one up.

I’m sure Jagex will have their normal events on certain holidays such as Easter and Christmas ” enjoy! ” May be you can get some fun, exciting items from them.

    Mage vs. Range in runescape

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Uncategorized

These are two very good way to fight people with getting less hurt anywhere since almost no one can attack back unless your opponent is a mager or a ranger. This article will explain you the difference of these two and the cons and pros of each of them. You can make your decision on whether you would prefer maging or ranging when in battle after reading this.

    Mage:
Maging is pretty much the same as ranging in attacking wise. You can use as much runes as you want when attacking. The pros of maging are that you can use your runes to teleport, transform items and do some other cool things that you can never imagine. You can have a level fifteen character and still be able to kill someone that has a level thirty combat because when attacking through mage you will be able to hurt your opponent more and not be the same distance as you would be when fighting one on one with schimitars or battle axes and so forth. The cons of maging is that buying runes can be pretty expensive since you need a lot of runes to be able to do it and once you use a rune, it is gone and never to be able to come back to you. It’s sort of like your shooting gold pieces and not getting anything in return but you do increase your mage level when shooting the gold pieces. It’s easy to create runes using the skill Runecrafting but all it does is take some time. Complete the ‘Rune Mysteries’ quest if you’re thinking of making runes.

    Range:
Ranging is a pretty good way to fight. It’s cheaper than maging but you cannot do as much ranging then you would be able to in maging. The pros of ranging are that you can re-use your arrows! Well most of them but not all of them. While attacking your opponent with ranging, then around 80-90% of your arrows falls down so that you can pick them up again and re-use them. In maging, once you attack your opponent with runes, then your runes are gone forever. It would be great for a ranger to become a member on Runescape because you can make it your arrows oppose to buying them which all free members has to do. In maging you do not have to be a member to make runes so this is why maging is good in another way. To make arrows, you would use you’re fletching skills to make them and you can create them and then sell them too so anyway you would prefer.

As you can see, maging or ranging, each one of them has their benefits. It’s the only the matter of which one you prefer. Obviously you can do both though which would be a good thing to do instead of focusing on only one skill. It would be more beneficial to you in all sorts of different ways which you will discover later on in the game.
