Dungeoneering - Resource Dungeons

Posted by: amber  //  Category: Runescape Skills

The powers behind Daemonheim once required creatures and resources to help build their shifting dungeons, and they often went beyond RuneScape to find them. To bring them into this world, they would travel deep into dungeons, away from prying eyes, and invoke a portal.

In your travels, you may come across mysterious entrances protected by a large magical seal. Should you have the correct Dungeoneering level, you may remove these seals and access the creatures, resources and extras that lie beyond. You will even get a one-time Dungeoneering XP boost for finding what has long been dormant.

The general locations of the resource dungeons can be found below, but their exact location will have to be discovered by you…

Runescape Money making guide 2010

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Uncategorized

There are in fact a lot of ways to make money on Runescape as a F2P account, but many of them are time-consuming to be able to start doing, below I’ve listed skills and tactics to be able to make runescape money.

Combat

Fighting high level enemies means you can get high value drop, my personal favourite is the cockroach soldier in the stronghold of security, but I recommend being around level 70 with food. Cockroach soldiers drop quite a few rune items which are worth a fair amount, e.g. Rune scimitars which sell for around 35k on the Grand Exchange.

Other good enemies to kill are Lesser Demons (Found on Karamja), which occasionally drop Rune med helms which give around 10k with high alchemy,  Ankou (Found in stronghold of security) and Greater Demons (Found in deep wilderness). Another weaker alternative is to kill Hill Giants, which always drops big bones which can be collected and sold for quite a lot of money.

I would highly recommend Cockroach Soldiers though but you need to be a high level to kill them.

Mining

This is a very profitable skill, especially when you reach coal or better yet, level 60 mining which allows you entry to the mining guild which also has 5 mithril ore deposits which can also be mined for profit. This becomes even more profitable after reaching adamantite ore and it sky-rockets once you reach runite ore which sells for around 12k each. Sadly the only place to mine runite ore is deep into the wilderness and there is only one rock, so many miners world hop because it takes a long time to respawn.

Smithing

This is profitable at most levels as long as you’ve mined the ores yourself, otherwise at low levels isn’t very profitable. At higher levels it becomes much more profitable and again, reaching rune will definitely help you as many items are still in heavy demand.

A good tactic I’ve been using lately to make upwards of 200k an hour is to buy nature runes, mithril and coal ores on the Grand Exchange and with a fire staff, use superheat item (requires magic level 43) and make mithril bars, this provides an easy profit whilst also gaining you both smithing and magic experience.

Fishing

I personally find it very hard to make a profit whilst fishing but it is easily achievable by selling lobsters (cooked or raw) and swordfish (again cooked or raw), this is rather time consuming but is best done on Karamja. Personally I sell them raw as it saves time and reduces the risk of burning a fish and therefore not being able

to sell it.

Cooking

A good method for this is to get level 55 cooking and buying plain pizzas and anchovies off the grand exchange and then using them to make anchovy pizzas which sell to make an easy profit on the grand exchange. This is a fast method to make money without having to do much at all.

If you need to get your cooking level up, a good method is to buy raw trout in bulk from the grand exchange, and then cook them to get cooking experience, when you sell them back you make a very small loss, around 1-2 gold for each trout but this money is made back easily by making anchovy pizzas.

Magic

(Look at smelting for tips on how to use superheat item for profit.)

Another method is to use telekinetic grab (telegrab) (which requires magic level 33) on the Wine of Zamorak found north of Falador, the best way to do this is with a staff of air and 28 law runes, when you have 27 wines, drop one and use telegrab then you should have no law runes and should be able to pick up the one you dropped on the floor.

To level magic quickly, get rune essence (either buy it or mine it) and login to world 16 and go to the air altar and find someone to assist you who can do 6x air runes (the higher the better), buy a fire staff and collect mind runes from Lumbridge castle and finally auto-cast fire strike on the lesser demon in the Mage Tower for easy experience.

Runecrafting

This only becomes profitable after level 44 when you can get 5x air runes, buy (or mine) rune essence and take it to the Grand Exchange, then just make continuous runs from Varrock West Bank to the air altar and get a lot of air runes and sell them back on the Grand Exchange.

If you don’t want to spend so long on getting a high runecrafting, then be a runner instead, go on to world 16 and go to the air altar and find someone to assist you who can do 6x air runes (the higher the better) and simply sell the air runes.

Woodcutting

Train until you can cut down yew logs, this takes a long time but can yield high profits, so stick with it as it is usually worth it – that’s all there is to woodcutting really.

Other Tips

When buying and selling, make sure you log how much you buy and for what prices. It’s very easy to make a loss when you’re not watching prices properly and it can be very hard to make back the money you lose.

Always look for a bargain, if someone offers you a good trade, take it and then sell the item for its normal price, it’s easy to tell if you are getting a good deal by looking at the wealth meter during trades or by looking at an items grand exchange price.

SWAN SONG QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Go west along the outside of the fence of the Gnome Stronghold, then head north from the hill giants you pass until you reach a river with a boat. You will see Kathy Corkat and Devin Mendelberg by the boat. Talk to Kathy and ask her to take you downstream. She will ask you for 50 gold pieces, but if you have your unlocked Ring of Charos, you can charm her to take you there free. After this she will take you to the island for free in the future. Move northwest from the row boat and talk to Herman Caranos. Ask him if you can help him and agree to do it. You will be asked to go fetch the Wise Old Man. Go to Draynor Village (Glory Amulet teleport recommended) and talk to him. He agrees to help you, but he needs five blood runes, ten lava runes and ten mist runes. You can make the lava and mist runes yourself or you can buy them from players. Blood runes can be bought from various rune shops or players, or dropped by monsters. After you bring him the runes, he will teleport to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony where you started the quest. Go to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony and talk to Wise Old Man. If you have all your fighting equipment, tell him that you’re ready to go on. After entering, you will be ambushed by level 79 Sea Trolls. Fight them and eventually they will stop coming from the sea. Kill all of them and proceed through the gate. The Wise Old Man will ask you to find Herman now. Go to the house on the eastern side of the town, east from the Furnace and talk to Herman. The Wise Old Man will teleport next to him and they will start discussing of ways to defend the colony. You are asked to help Franklin Caranos the engineer and Arnold Lydspor the storemaster. Franklin is near the colony gate, Arnold is in one of the big storage sheds. Here’s how to help them:

Arnold Lydspor: After talking to Arnold he will give you a net. Now run to the northwest corner of the colony and catch five monkfishes. You will be attacked by level 65, 87 and 101 Sea Trolls while fishing. After you have caught five monkfishes, bring them to Arnold. He wants you to cook them. So, go to the southwestern corner and cook the monkfishes on the range. If you burn any, you can catch more from the same fishing spot. Bring Arnold five cooked monkfishes to make him satisfied.

Franklin Caranos: After talking to Franklin you will learn that you need to get five iron sheets, and he will give you a tinderbox. Grab a pickaxe and the hatchet from the utility heap to the southeast of Franklin. Now exit through the gates to the south and enter the hole to find an iron mining spot near the hole. Mine at least five iron ores and go back through the hole. Keep the pickaxe. Cut one log from the space between the gate and the hole and proceed to the Colony. Go to the furnace, smelt the iron ores into bars and then put your log in the firebox on the other side of the press and use your tinderbox on it. Now the press is hot enough to handle the iron bars. Use them on the press to make five iron sheets. Go talk to Franklin and he will give you a hammer. Now just go to the west side of the colony to the wall that is marked red on the minimap. Use the sheets on the broken parts of the wall to fix them. Now talk to Franklin and then Herman again.

Herman still has some work for you. Talk to him and he will ask you to go to the magic guild in Yanille and talk to the Wizard Frumscone on the bottom floor. He will not loan you his zombies, but gives you another name, Malignius Mortifer. You can find him wandering around a bit south from Falador. Note that you can now go to the top floor of the Wizard’s Guild and take the south portal and you will be teleported to the Dark Wizard’s Tower, which is southwest of Falador. When you talk to Malignius Mortifer he will ask you for seven normal bones. You can go a bit east to kill the chickens in the farm for the bones or kill guards on Falador gates for fast bones. After giving Maliginus the bones, he will ask you to go to the crafting guild and gives you a brown apron. Wear the apron and go west to the crafting guild. Talk to the Master Crafter with brown hair and he will tell you to make a pot with an airtight lid. Mine two spaces of clay from the mine in the guild, go pick a jug from one of the tables on the bottom floor, fill it with water and use it on both clays. Now use them on the pottery wheel and make one pot and one pot lid, then heat them in the pottery furnace. Now go back to Malignius. He will give you the bone seeds in your pot and teleport you back to the Colony. Go talk to Herman. Now, you will see some nice cutscenes of the fight. Finally, a big queen will appear and you have to fight it. The queen uses mainly magic attacks, so when fighting it is good to keep the protect from magic prayer on (if you have at least 37 prayer). Beware though, the queen can drain your prayer. The queen also uses melee attacks, though, so it is suggested that you either melee it with good armor and protect from mage, or you range it from a distance with protect from mage on. After killing the queen, walk back to Herman and talk to him to finish the quest.

Helpful Hints for Runescape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Guide

- If a player is offering to trim or duplicate things like your armor and other items
(cash included), report them for item scamming. These are things that Jagex has said time
and again that can not be done.

- Avoid the “Trust Game” that some scammers will pull. This is a person saying things
like “give me your best item and I will give it back to you” or “everyone give me your
best item, the person that has the best one wins 1mil.” Report these people for item
scamming.

- A good way to make money is to work on your woodcutting. Yew longs sell for around 300
each. Maples sell for around 150-200 each.

- Mining Ess is a good way to make money on both F2P and P2P worlds. Pure Ess sells for
100 each (1k will make you 100K), where normal Ess will sell for around half of that.

- If you are at a higher combat lvl (I would recommend at least 35-40), fighting “Moss
Giants” and “Hill Giants” for Big Bones is good way to make money. They sell for 300-500
each. Moss Giants also have some good drops.

- Set Password Recovery questions that you will remember but are not easy for others to
guess. Set a Bank Pin as well (can be made by talking to a banker at any bank in RS).
Remember to change your password every now and then as well. This should be the same idea
as your recovery questions (something that you will remember, but others will have a hard
time guessing), and for better security use numbers in your password (examples:
h0lyL1ght, f0xk1ll3r, d00mbr1ng3r, and other such things).

- Don’t be afraid to ask questions and don’t feel silly for it either. Player Mods
(Silver Crowns) and Jagex Mods (Gold Crowns) can be very helpful and a good source of
information if you ask them nicely. The “Knowlegde Base” is also a really good place to
get information about just about everything in RS.

- The biggest and best tip I can give you about RS, is if it sounds to good to be true,
then it probably is. If everyone played fair, then the entire Mod Team would be
pointless, but unfortunately that is not the case.

Be safe. Have fun.

How to Get 99 Magic in Runescape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Uncategorized

Ever wanted the magic skill cape, Ancient Magicks, or just 99 magic? This guide will show you how to get 99 magic quite cheaply.

  1. Cast your first spell on goblins in Lumbridge and pick up the runes.
  2. At level 1 magic, use your experience lamps (from Tutorial Island) for magic.
  3. Go to the Player Safety center. Read all the plaques, then ask to go upstairs. Upstairs, you will have to take a test. then, you will receive 2 exp lamps. Use them for magic.
    • By now, you should be about level 11, maybe 12.
  4. Cast weaken 118 times. This should cost about 5k.
  5. You can cast curse. By now, there are 2 ways to train magic.
    • Once you cast weaken enough times, use wind bolt in Fist of Guthix. you may also get rewards. At level 17, your bolt won’t be too accurate. Cast wind bolt 1058 times. this may be a lot, but this is free.
  6. Go to hill giants once you’re over level 20 magic and then go to the safe spot behind the pillars. This is fast xp and gives you big bones which you can sell, or bury for prayer levels. If you’re getting bored with hill giants, you can go to Varrock castle and cast the curse spells or any of the other none-attacking spells on the npc inside the cage. This is a good spot to train if you want magic levels and not hit point levels.
    • Cast curse 134 times. Once you get 25 magic, go for law running, with the assist system. This can get you free laws. You can only do this if you are a member. cast varrock teleport 298 times.
  7. Now, you can cast Telekinetic grab. Go to the nature rune spawn in level 42 wilderness, and grab the nature runes. These runes will come in handy later; don’t sell them! Cast this 747 times. If you don’t want to risk going into the wilderness, you can go into the Varrock basement, and telegrab the gold ore. The ore takes a long time to respawn, but this is safer. You will need 747 laws and an air staff.
  8. Now you can superheat items! Steel and mithril bars are the best to smith. It is also recommended you have completed The Knights Sword quest. Cast this 2195 times. If you went into the wilderness, then that’s great, if not, you may have to use 100-200k for this part.
  9. Understand that high level alchemy is best. Green d’hide, magic and yew longbows, adamant platebodies, ruby bracelets, amulets of defense, and (surprisingly) adamant battleaxes are the best to high alch. Try getting some of the nature runes from the Nature Rune Isle. You have to cast 197,967 high alchs!
  10. Great! you got 99 magic! Now you can go show it off to your friends.

Tips

  • It’s a good idea to bring some food when going into the wilderness.
  • Another option is to buy a mud staff and cast curse. this costs 4-5M
  • Fist of Guthix is a slow option that’s free. if you have 200k+, you don’t need to go to Fist of Guthix.
  • Look in the grand exchange for other items that cost less than the high alchemy price.
  • Free laws = Free natures!
  • It should take about a month or two to get from 55 magic to 99.
  • Don’t get burnt out. If all you do all day is alch, you will get extremely bored and never want to do magic again.
  • Try watching television or a movie while you alch.
  • Nats is short for nature runes.
  • To save even more money and get your Runecrafting up, you can make all of your runes.
  • ALSO you may want to try fist of guthix if your low on cash

  • Runescape Attack

Posted by: cool  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Attack is one of those skills in Runescape that everybody needs and wants, without attack you wont be able to hit very high at all, also you wont be able wield any strong weapons without attack. Attack is one of the few skills that will raise your combat level no matter what type of character you are.

Don’t think that attack is only good for killing monsters, attack is also crucial for player killing in the wilderness, if you go Pking without attack you will have a lot of troubling killing your enemy no matter what level they are.

Now that you know what the skill attack is all about I bet you’re wondering the fastest and most efficient way to raise it fast.

Note: To get attack experience you need to be fighting with the fighting style called Stab or Lunge.

1 - 15: If you’re free to play I would suggest killing chickens in Lumbrige, chickens never hit you so you shouldn’t die, and you can sell there feathers for 10gp each so you can make some cash. Members should train on rock crabs on Waterbirth Island, rock crabs have 50 HP and never hit.

15 - 30: All the way from 15 to 30 free to players should be killing cows either in Lumbridge or South of Falador. The cow pin south of Falador are closer to a bank, being closer to a bank is very helpful because you can sell the cows hides for 100gp each. Members should still be killing rock crabs.

30 - 50: From 30 to 50 free to players should kill Hill Giants in the Edgeville Dungeon; you can either bury the big bones for prayer experience or sell them 400 each. Members can either stay at rock crabs or go to Hill Giants if you need prayer experience.

50 - 80: This is where it gets hard, but I think free to players should still train on Hill Giants, or go to Moss Giants. Members should stay at rock crabs, or kill Green dragons and sell the bones and hides for about 2.5k each.

80 - 99: Its almost impossible for free to players to get this high but some have, the best way would have to be killing ice giants southwest of Port Swamis. Members can keep killing rock crabs, or train on various dragons of there choice. Also Hell Hounds are nice to train on if you want level three clue scrolls.

Ok, so now you have a super high attack level and you’re wondering what cool weapons you can use, well here is a list.

    Level ———— Weapon
    1 ———— Bronze
    1 ———— Iron
    5 ———— Steel
    10 ———— Black
    20 ———— Mithril
    30 ———— Adamant
    40 ———— Rune
    50 ———— Granite
    60 ———— Dragon

Now I think you’re ready to go out there and fight all those monsters and gain some great cash and experience!
