Player-Owned House Costume Room

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Community

Do you love to collect different outfits for your character but have trouble finding room for them all in your bank? Is your local banker buried under a heap of lederhosen and frog masks? Your problems are solved!

From now on, if you have level 42 Construction, you can add a costume room to your house. Chests, wardrobes and cape racks in this room can be used to store many of the ensembles you can acquire around RuneScape, including:

  • Treasure trail reward costumes
  • Random event reward costumes
  • Minigame reward costumes (such as Castle Wars armour)
  • Quest reward costumes (such as Temple Knight armour)
  • Recent holiday event rewards - you will find that the room automatically stores any holiday event reward you are entitled to!
  • Plus, of course, the new Capes of Achievement!

Naturally, bigger, higher quality pieces of furniture in this room can store more stuff.

Please consult the Knowledge Base article for the complete list of storable costumes.

As always, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to fix glitches in the game. This week, among many other minor bugfixes, watch out for the following changes:

  • Higher-level slayers may be pleased to hear that Duradel, the Slayer Master of Shilo Village, has finally restored Nechryael to his list of assignments.
  • Giant rats, bats and bears have had their models and animations upgraded.
  • Ever since the update to the combat interfaces, your attack style would be reset to Accurate mode if you switched weapons to a magic staff. This will no longer happen unless there is no appropriate attack style available on the staff to match your previous mode.

Runescape TEMPLE OF IKOV QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: A dark stranger called Lucien asks you to retrieve an artefact known as the Staff of Armadyl. Speak to him in the Flying Horse Inn in Ardougne.
Quest difficulty level: Hard.
Reward: 10.000 range exp, some fletching exp, Light key (Used to re-enter the house at McGrubber鈥檚 woods), Pendant of Lucian, Pendant of Armady.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Skills: Level 42 thieving and level 40 ranged.
Required Items: Lit candle (Use a tinderbox with a candle), weapon with a slash attack, a yew or magic bow, and 20 limpwurt roots.
TEMPLE OF IKOV QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Firstly: Get the Pendant of Lucien and go to the dungeon north-east of Ardougne.
Enter the dungeon: Head west and you鈥檒l see some stairs leading off to an area that is completely black. Go in. If you have the candle with you, the room will be lit up. If not, it will be black and dark.
Boots of Lightness: Slash the web in front of the only red dot in the room and take the boots. These boots take away 4kg from your weight and are very useful.
Room of Fear: As you go back up the stairs, put on your Pendant of Lucien and try to open the gate to the north. If you don鈥檛 have it on, you will jump back in fear. If not, you will enter a room with level 45 skeletons.
Lever: Head to the bridge to your west. Put on your boots and make sure your weight is 0kg or less; cross over and take the lever piece.
Traps: Cross over the bridge to the main area and head north. You will see a lever above a trap door. Search the trap door for traps and disable them. Then pull the lever.
Second lever: Go to the entrance room and search around for the lever bracket. Use your lever piece with it and pull. Then head through the south gate.
Ice arrows: Walk along the path fighting (or avoiding) the ice spiders (level 61) until you see jutting areas with chests. Search the chests for ice arrows and gather as many as you can. If you have searched all of them, go back and search them again. You need about 20-25 to kill the next monster. Head back to the area by the first lever after you finish.
Fire warrior: Go to the rocks with broken arrows around it and enter that door. Open the opposite door and the Fire Warrior will pop up. Equip the ice arrows and shoot him until he dies. (Note: He is a mage, so protect from magic helps a lot). After he dies, the door you tried to open will let you pass.
The lava: As you notice, there is lava blocking your path. Talk to Winelda and give her the 20 limpwurt roots; she will pass you over the fire.
Shiny key: Run through the area, past the ladder and past the odd wall to the very end and get the key. Run back to the wall and push on it. Here you have a choice in how you choose to finish. However, the reward is not changed.
GOOD SIDE: Take off your Pendant of Lucian and talk to the guardians. Tell them that you are after the staff because Lucian sent you and that you need a bath. They clean you and ask you to side with them. If you do, they will give you the Pendant of Armadyl. It will allow you to attack Lucian.
Put it on, and climb the ladder and exit.
BAD SIDE: Take the staff and exit. You may have to fight the guardians if you walk back through the wall.
Lucian: Go north of Varrock; you will find a lone house. Enter it and kill Lucian or give him the staff.

NPC: Achetties (Hero’s Guild), Garrant (Port Sarim fishing store), Velrak the Explorer (Black Knights jail in Members Dungeon), Katrine (Varrock), Straven (Varrock), Trobert (Brimhaven), Gruber (Brimhaven), Grip (Brimhaven), Alfonse the Waiter (Brimhaven), Charlie the Cook (Brimhaven).

HERO’S QUEST WALKTHROUGH
To become a Hero, and worthy of entering The Hero’s Guild, you need to bring Achetties three items. One is the feather of a fire bird, the second is a cooked lava eel, and last, the Master Thief Armband. You can get these items in any order you want to. However, for the master thief armband, you will need a friend in the other gang. So if you’re in the Black Arms Gang, you will need to find someone to hook up with.
Firebird Feather: This is where you need to kill the level 102 Ice Queen, go to the bank (Catherby is best if you have done the Fishing Contest). Get out your armour, weapon, and food (and whatever you need to kill her, pots etc…), as well as a pickaxe. When you have these, head up to the White Wolf Mountain just east of Catherby. Walk north through the White Wolf Mountain and past the gnome glider, and you will come to a rock slide. If you right click on it you will have an option to mine it. After you’ve mined the slider, continue down the southern ladder there, and you will end up inside the mountain.
If you go a little west you should now see two paths, take the southern one, and climb up the ladder. Once you’re up, you’ll be faced with level 54 ice giants. Go down the eastern ladder, and run/walk all the way down the path and you will end up at another ladder, go up, and then go down the other ladder. Go north and you should eventually see the level 111 ice queen. She is extremely hard to kill, since she is in a multi-combat zone, and there are six level 53 ice warriors around there as well. Once you’ve killed her, pick up the ice gloves that she dropped.
Head all the way back, and go to Falador bank. Put all of your armour and weapons in the bank, and then head down to the Port Sarim docks, and take the boat to Entrana (the most north-eastern boat). Once on Entrana go all the way north and search the area there, you should see a little red bird named Entrana Fire Bird. It’s only level two, so you shouldn’t have a problem killing it. When it’s dead, wear your ice gloves from the Ice Queen and pick up the fire feather.
Cooked lava eel: Coming back from Entrana, you can stop by the fishing store in Port Sarim. Speak with the owner of the store, and ask him how to fish lava eels. He will give you a bottle of Blemish Snail Slime. So, head back to the bank in Falador, and get out your harralander, water filled vial, fishing rod and bait. Use the harralander and the slime with the water filled vial, and you will have Blemish Oil. Use it with the rod and you will now have the Oily Fishing Rod you need to fish the lava eels. Now its time to go down to the Members Dungeon which you will find south of Taverly.
You will need to go past some poison scorpions, bring an anti-poison. You will also come up against some nasty dragons, so bringing your trusty anti-dragon breath shield might be a good idea as well. Food and armour could help you as well. You will, of course, need your oily fishing rod, and some bait (around 10 should do it). One last thing you need is a dusty key. If you don’t have it already, read below. When you have all the things you need, head to the dungeon south of Taverly.
Dusty key: Enter the dungeon, go straight ahead until you come to a set of prison doors, open them and the suits of armour will attack you, kill them and go through the door. Head out of one of the other doors there (doesn鈥檛 really matter which), and go south-east past the black knights, magic axes, poison scorpions, and then go straight ahead into the little path going south. You should now be at some more black knights. Go through the door there and then turn east. You should now see a level 42 jailer, kill him and pick up the keys he dropped. Open the jail door to the south and talk with Velrak the Explorer. After a bit of talk, he will give you the dusty key.
In the member鈥檚 dungeon, go all the way into the lesser demons, and then use your dusty key on the door there. You’re now in a room with blue dragons. If you want, you can kill some. Go south until you get to a place with lava, there you should see three fishing spots. Fish some lava eels from one of those spots. You will need two cooked at the end, so if your cooking isn’t that high, be on the safe side and fish 10-15 of them. Go back out and cook the lava eels.
Master Thief Armband: This is where you need your partner. If you’re in the Phoenix Gang, you need a friend from the Black Arm Gang and of course the other way around as well.
Black Arm Gang: Go to your hideout in Varrock. You should find Katrine there. Talk with her a bit and she will give you the password: “four leaf clover”. Get your full black set of armour out of the bank. Head off to Brimhaven (on Karamja), and enter the house east of the pirates bar, and speak with either Trobert or Gruber there. They will give you your ID papers. Now walk west until you come to the mansion. Be sure to wear your full black armour and go in.
Once in, talk with Grip and he should give you a key; hand it over to your Phoenix partner, and then wait for your partner to get ready. Once he is ready, go back in to the mansion and open the cupboard in the northern room. Grip should now come in the room, and your partner can shoot him. Once he is dead he will drop a key. Use this key to enter the treasure room in the western room, and search around to find two candlesticks, when you have them, give one to your partner, and then you both can return to your leaders to get the armband.
Phoenix Gang: Go to your hideout in Varrock. Ask Straven about the Master Thief Armband. After a bit of talking, you should get the password: “Gherkin”. When you have it, go to your bank and withdraw some cash (100gp is enough), some arrows and a bow. You will need to kill a level 26, so bring enough arrows. When you have that, head off to Brimhaven on Karamja and meet with your Black Arm Gang friend.
Your friend will have a key for you, trade with them, and go into the bar and talk with Alfonse the Waiter and give him your password. You will now be allowed into the kitchen, talk with Charlie the Cook and he will tell you about the secret wall. It is next to the stove on the western wall, go through it, and use your key on the door across the yard there. Meanwhile, your partner should almost be ready with Grip. Stand in front of the window in the next room and shoot Grip. Your partner should now see a key; he will use it to get the two candlesticks and trade one of them with you. Return to your gang leader to get the armband.
Once you both have all three items, go back to you the Hero’s guide and talk with Achetties. This completes the quest.

THE GRAND TREE QUEST WALKTHROUGH

Walk across the bridges and you’ll end up on the largest of the two islands, go to the house and up the ladder. Talk to the gnome Hazelmere, he’ll just say “blah, blah, blah” use the book to translate, and you will find out that he said. A man will come up to you with the king’s seal, give the man Darconia Rocks, and Darconia Rocks will kill the tree. Now go all the way back to the Gnome Stronghold.
King Narnode Shareen: Talk to him. Choose the option ‘None of these’ until you see the first part of the translation, click it, do the same with the second and third sentences. The King then tells you to go to speak to Glough. He is south-east of the Grand Tree, go up the ladders around there until you find him.
Glough: Talk to Glough, he’ll basically tell you off, so just talk to him and go back to the King. Talk to the King, and then go up to the top level of the grand tree, and talk with Charlie there, before going back to Glough’s House.
Glough’s Tree House: Go to Glough’s tree house again and search the cupboard there to get his diary. Then speak to him and he will call his guards to lock you up in jail, but don’t worry, the King will come and rescue you. After your chat with the King, talk to Charlie. He tells you about the shipyard in Brimhaven. Now talk to the Gnome pilot, and choose to fly to Karamja. You crash land in the Karamja Jungle. From the crash site go south-east until you reach a gate. Attempt to open the gate and the guard stops you and asks what you’re doing. Tell him that Glough has sent you and then give him the pass, “Ka-Lu-Min.” Find the foreman and talk with him.
Foreman: He will ask you to go to his office, once you’re there answer his questions. It doesn’t matter if you answer the questions right, if you don’t you’ll just have to fight him. After you’ve talked with him, go back to the Gnome Stronghold.
Femi: Once you reach the gate of the stronghold try to walk through it. The guards won’t let you. There’s a Gnome with a cart named “Femi” talk to her and she’ll let you hide in her cart. Once inside the Stronghold just go to the King and talk to him.
King: The King tells you to leave because everyone is paranoid, don’t. Climb the ladders to the top and talk to Charlie again. He’ll tell you about a chest in Glough’s house. But in order to get the key you need to go to Glough’s girlfriend’s house, where he left the key. She lives west of the Swamp, the second ladder west.
Anita: Speak to Anita and she gives you the key for the chest. Go to Glough’s house again and open the chest. Then go back and talk to the King. The king will tell you that he had guards search the house and found nothing suspicious except some twigs. The king gives them to you (keep these twigs as you will need them).
Get ready for your fight with the demon. You can either use armour and weapons, or magic. Remember to have 4 slots open for the twigs.
4 twigs: Go back to Glough’s House. Use the twigs on the Pillar’s in this order:
T = First on the left.
U = Second from the left.
Z = Third from the left.
O = Most right one.
Open the trap door and climb down. Glough will walk to you and walk a bit, then he’ll call fourth his demon. You must fight and kill the demon.
King Narnode Shareen: Once you have killed the demon, walk through the cave until you see the King and then talk to him. He’ll tell you to search the roots for the Daconian stone, once you’ve found it, talk with him again.

Runescape CATAPULT CONSTRUCTION QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Speak to the Catapult Guard north of the Tyras Camp.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Quest Length: Short.
Reward: 15000 Construction, 5000 Fletching, 30 noted teak planks, Adamant halberd, 2000 coins, no friendly fire when using Castle Wars catapults.
Quest points gained: 2.

Required Skills: Level 42 Fletching, Level 44 Construction.
Required Items: 10 mahogany planks, 90 mithril nails, knife, hammer, saw.
NPC: Tyras Guard, General Hining, Catapult Engineer, Rolad the Dwarf, Thaki the Delivery Dwarf, Drunken Sailor.
CATAPULT CONSTRUCTION QUEST WALKTHROUGH

Speak with the Tyras guard standing next to the catapult north of the Tyras Camp. The Guard fears General Hining will fire him because he has failed to keep the catapult in good shape. Tell him he’ll most likely be fired and he’ll ask you for help. Afterwards go speak with General Hining near the center of the camp and bring up the broken state of the catapult. When he lets you help with the catapult, he tells you to find the Engineer and deliver a letter from his superior.

Leave the Tyras Camp and head towards the Hunting spot through the following path: 1) East as far as possible, 2) South through the dense forest, 3) South through the trip wire, 4) East through the dense forest, 5) North through the leaf jump, 6) West through the pass sticks.

Speak to the Catapult Engineer and deliver the letter. Tell him General Hining has sent you. When he worries that the job is difficult, tell him you are an experienced carpenter. Being convinced, he’ll hand over a copy of the schematics for the catapult. If you attempt to read the schematics, you will find they do not include what type of items you are supposed to use. To solve this problem, speak to the Catapult Engineer again and ask to read the letter, which states in capital letters exactly what material is needed.

Head to the Dwarven Mines and speak to Rolad the dwarf in the eastern house. It turns out the metal parts have already been sent, but Thaki the delivery dwarf has gone missing on his way to Port Sarim. Go to the bar in Port Sarim to find Thaki. Speak to Thaki to try to claim the parts, but the very drunk dwarf won’t give them to you because you are not a sailor.Search the drunken sailor sitting just outside the south exit to find a sailor’s hat. Put it on and speak to Thaki again. He will now provide the parts.

With a hammer, a saw, a knife, the 10 mahogany planks, 90 mithril nails, and the metal parts from Thaki in your inventory, read the schematics and make the parts. Return to the catapult and speak to the Tyras guard. You will have to fix both sides of the catapult, piecing together the parts you made. This will be a simple block puzzle where you match the pieces to the correctly shaped slot.

Speak to the Tyras guard again. He is pleased you were able to fix it, but finds it rather useless. You must test the catapult’s aim to make sure it’s in proper order:

1) Aim the arrow below the central boulder and apply the minimum amount of counterweight. Fire to hit the boulder.
2) Aim the arrow below the rightmost boulder and fill the counterweight completely. Fire to hit the boulder.
3) Aim the arrow at the leftmost boulder and fill to one notch less than the maximum counterweight. Fire to hit the boulder.

Speak to the Tyras guard once more to claim your reward.

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Uncategorized

Ever wanted the magic skill cape, Ancient Magicks, or just 99 magic? This guide will show you how to get 99 magic quite cheaply.

  2. At level 1 magic, use your experience lamps (from Tutorial Island) for magic.
  3. Go to the Player Safety center. Read all the plaques, then ask to go upstairs. Upstairs, you will have to take a test. then, you will receive 2 exp lamps. Use them for magic.
    • By now, you should be about level 11, maybe 12.
  4. Cast weaken 118 times. This should cost about 5k.
  5. You can cast curse. By now, there are 2 ways to train magic.
    • Once you cast weaken enough times, use wind bolt in Fist of Guthix. you may also get rewards. At level 17, your bolt won’t be too accurate. Cast wind bolt 1058 times. this may be a lot, but this is free.
  6. Go to hill giants once you’re over level 20 magic and then go to the safe spot behind the pillars. This is fast xp and gives you big bones which you can sell, or bury for prayer levels. If you’re getting bored with hill giants, you can go to Varrock castle and cast the curse spells or any of the other none-attacking spells on the npc inside the cage. This is a good spot to train if you want magic levels and not hit point levels.
    • Cast curse 134 times. Once you get 25 magic, go for law running, with the assist system. This can get you free laws. You can only do this if you are a member. cast varrock teleport 298 times.
  7. Now, you can cast Telekinetic grab. Go to the nature rune spawn in level 42 wilderness, and grab the nature runes. These runes will come in handy later; don’t sell them! Cast this 747 times. If you don’t want to risk going into the wilderness, you can go into the Varrock basement, and telegrab the gold ore. The ore takes a long time to respawn, but this is safer. You will need 747 laws and an air staff.
  8. Now you can superheat items! Steel and mithril bars are the best to smith. It is also recommended you have completed The Knights Sword quest. Cast this 2195 times. If you went into the wilderness, then that’s great, if not, you may have to use 100-200k for this part.
  9. Understand that high level alchemy is best. Green d’hide, magic and yew longbows, adamant platebodies, ruby bracelets, amulets of defense, and (surprisingly) adamant battleaxes are the best to high alch. Try getting some of the nature runes from the Nature Rune Isle. You have to cast 197,967 high alchs!
  10. Great! you got 99 magic! Now you can go show it off to your friends.

Tips

  • It’s a good idea to bring some food when going into the wilderness.
  • Another option is to buy a mud staff and cast curse. this costs 4-5M
  • Fist of Guthix is a slow option that’s free. if you have 200k+, you don’t need to go to Fist of Guthix.
  • Look in the grand exchange for other items that cost less than the high alchemy price.
  • Free laws = Free natures!
  • It should take about a month or two to get from 55 magic to 99.
  • Don’t get burnt out. If all you do all day is alch, you will get extremely bored and never want to do magic again.
  • Try watching television or a movie while you alch.
  • Nats is short for nature runes.
  • To save even more money and get your Runecrafting up, you can make all of your runes.
  • ALSO you may want to try fist of guthix if your low on cash
