Runescape Strength Guide

What Does Strength Do?

Strength is a very valuable skill used in Melee combat. The higher your Strength, the higher you will hit during combat. It’s for this reason that most PKers have a very high Strength compared to their other stats. There are also some pieces of equipment that require you to have a certain amount of Strength to wield.

Training Strength

By clicking on the Attack Styles icon (the one with the crossing swords), you’ll be able to choose between the different kinds of attacks you can use with your currently equipped weapon. To train your Strength, you’ll want to choose the “Aggressive” style from the menu.

Each time you inflict one damage point on your opponent, you’ll earn 4 Strength experience. You can also use the “Controlled” method of some weapons to train all of your melee skills (attack, defense and strength) and earn 1.3 experience to each.

In the picture below, the box is accessible by clicking the Equipment icon (right of the inventory icon), which allows you to equip and unequip items. The “Show Equipment Stats” will pop-up the box you see is in the picture. It will contain what you’re wearing, an enlarged picture of yourself, and your stats. Strength bonus is located under “Other bonuses”. The higher that number is, the more damage you will deal in combat.

Boosting Your Strength

There are a number of ways to temporarily boost your Strength.

Potions - There are a few potions in RuneScape that will give you a generous strength boost
Drinks - Several alcoholic beverages will increase your strength level for a short time.
Prayers - 3 Prayers exist that will allow you to inflict extra damage in battle.
Special Attacks - Some special attacks will increase your strength greatly when used.
All of these methods will be described later on in this guide.

Bandos’s Stronghold

Posted by: amber  //  Category: monster hunting, runescape hunting guide

Introduction
Please refer to the general God Wars guide for the basic mechanics of God Wars Dungeon. Bandos’s chosen General is General Graardor.
He is usually referred to by players as the easiest of the God Wars Dungeon bosses to defeat. However, you should always be aware while fighting, he can still hit very hard, up to 690 at maximum. He has two attacks, one a melee attack which hits up to 600, and secondly a ranged-based attack which can hit a maximum of 350. He will only target one player with his melee attack at once: if you are his target, always pray protect from melee. His ranged attack hits all players. Very few items give protection from his followers: the Ancient Mace, Bandos godsword, and the items from the Bandos armour set. You can also take a dip in the Bandos pool if you’ve completed the As a First Resort… quest. To enter, you need a hammer and 70 strength. General Graardor’s most prized drops include Bandos armour pieces, as well as godsword shards and his godsword hilt. If using the Trollheim teleport to arrive at the dungeon, use this strategy to keep a full inventory: Teleport to Trollheim, drop 2 food items, teleport back to a bank, get 2 more of the items dropped, and then teleport back to Trollheim. You should now have a full inventory.

Strategy
The best strategy to fight Bandos is by using a tank method. In this method, one player will enter first, praying melee. This is usually the highest levelled player in the group. His outfit will emphasize ranged defence, and he will suffer all damage from General Graardor. Other players should emphasize prayer and attack bonus, while still having fair defence to protect from the minions, as well as in case the General turns on them from spawning or killing the tank. These players should pray ranged while Graardor is alive. The tank should always enter the room first and engage Graardor. Then, and only then, should the rest of the team enter. After killing Graardor, the minions should be killed in this order: Steelwill (praying magic), then either Grimspike (praying range) or Strongsack (praying melee). Then, everyone but the tank should go to the very north-western corner, because Graardor spawns on the south-east side. The tank should engage him as soon as possible. While tanking, if you need to eat or drink a potion, run quickly under Graardor, eat, and then attack him. With practice, you can avoid getting hit while eating.

The best spot for kill-count is outside the Stronghold, near the ice bridge to Zamorak’s Fortress, on goblins and hobgoblins. For this spot you will need to bring a zamorak item. The other spot is on hobgoblins, outside the Stronghold, but just south of the Bandos boss room. You do not need an item for this spot.

Suggested Levels (warrior)

70 attack, strength, and defence
60 prayer (70 strongly recommended)
If ranging, 70+ ranged
Suggested Levels (tank)

85 defence
80 attack and strength
70 prayer
Keep in mind that these are suggested minimum levels. You can kill Graardor with lower levels, but you will perform much better with higher levels, and it is also much easier to find a group with higher stats. In a larger group, you can get away with lower stats. Having 70 prayer to bless teammates graves, as well as for piety, is highly recommended. Ranging and meleeing are both good choices. Maging, however, is ineffective against all God Wars Bosses, due to its low accuracy and the low defence of robes.

Having 52 summoning for a spirit terrorbird to carry extra supplies is recommended, and higher levelled Beasts of Burden or combat familiars are also an aid. Note: don’t bring an aggressive familiar, like a terrorbird if you’re not the tank. If your familiar attacks him, he’ll focus on you. Instead, bring a passive familiar, like a bunyip.

Equipment
Recommended equipment (warrior):
Note: Items are listed from the best to the worst

Weapon: Godsword > Abyssal Whip
Helmet: Helm of Neitiznot > Berserker helm > Warrior helm
Amulet: Fury > Glory
Body: Bandos Chestplate* > Verac’s Brassard > Other high defence platebodies
Legs: Bandos Tassets* > Verac’s Plateskirt > Other high defence platelegs
Shield: (If using whip) Rune Defender > Dragonfire Shield > Obsidian Shield
Cape: Fire cape > Skill Cape > God cape
Boots: Dragon > Rune
Gloves: Barrows > Dragon > Rune > Regen Bracelet > Adamant > Combat Bracelet
Ring: Berserker Ring(i) > Warrior Ring(i) > Berserker Ring > Warrior Ring > Ring of Life

*Note: Starred items are Bandos items that will protect you from his minions outside the boss room. Having one (or dipping in the Bandos Pool) is NECESSARY.

Recommended inventory (warrior):

8 Prayer Potions
2 Super attack and 2 super strength potions/ 2 ranging potions
Hammer
Teleport
Summoning pouches (optional)
Rest food (sharks recommended)*

Note: You should share food with your tank when needed - the tank will suffer much greater damage than warriors.

Void

Void is recommend for large teams because of it’s low defense.

Recommended equipment (tank):
Weapon: Abyssal Whip > Godsword
Helmet: Torag’s Helm/Guthan’s Helm > Other high defence helms
Amulet: Fury > Glory
Body: Guthan’s/Dharok’s/Torag’s Platebody > Karil’s Top > Bandos Chestplate*
Legs: Torag’s Platelegs > Other high defence platelegs

Recommended inventory (tank)

19 Saradomin Brews
7 Super Restores
Hammer
Teleport
Summoning Pouches (optional)

Solo
Soloing Bandos has both drawbacks and benefits over teams. It’s much easier to start a trip, and you get to keep all your drops yourself, although your trips are much shorter, and usually more expensive. There are also higher requirements.

Recommended Levels:

90 attack, strength and defence
70 prayer
52+ summoning
70+ magic
The strategy is similar to acting as the tank in a team. You will pray melee, emphasize range defence, and fight the boss. However, godswords help much more on killing the boss, and you need to deal much more damage, while taking more damage than in a team. You will use sharks instead of brews and restores.

Recommended equipment (solo):

Weapon: Godsword > Abyssal Whip
Helmet: Torag’s Helm/Guthan’s Helm > Other high defence helms
Amulet: Fury > Glory
Body: Karil’s Top > Bandos Chestplate*
Legs: Bandos Tassets > Other high defence platelegs
Shield: (If using whip) Dragonfire Shield > Blessed Spirit Shield > Obsidian Shield
Cape: Soul Wars > Fire cape > Skill Cape
Boots: Dragon > Rune
Gloves: Barrows > Dragon

Recommended Inventory (Solo)

Super attack, super strength, and super defence potion
Three prayer potions
Hammer
Teleport
Rest Sharks

Praying Piety as well as melee protect can speed up your kills and limit damage, but it does use far more prayer points. It’s up to personal preference. Using a summoned familiar helps the most during solo runs: you can use a Terrorbird or Tortoise to greatly increase your inventory.

Lootshare
While fighting as a team in this multicombat area, use the LootShare chat system to ensure honest reporting of monster drops. Not only will this system report your team’s drops for everybody within the chat (with at least the minimum set rank), but will also increase each individual’s chances of getting drops, as opposed to drops being limited to only one or a few individuals who consistently do the most damage.

To have a chance at the drops from the LootShare system, you must be within 16 squares of the killed monster. Also make sure that your rank is set high enough to have a chance for team drops if you are in a team using LootShare.

If the Clan Chat owner has the Coinshare option enabled, all those entitled to recieve lootshare drops will have it activated. Coinshare is only applied to certain drops. The drop will be converted to coins and all lootshare members will receive an equal split if General Graardor or any of his minions drop any of these items:

Godsword shard 1, 2, or 3
Bandos Boots, Chestplate, or Tassets
Bandos Hilt
Dragon Med Helm
Dragon Spear
Shield Left Half (dragon)
Please refer to our New Members P2P guide for a listing of all worlds the Lootshare system is enabled upon. Note that worlds can change frequently and Jagex’s world select page should be your point of reference for Lootshare worlds.

Conclusion
Bandos is one of the most simple God Wars dungeon bosses to understand and is a good first boss for beginners to try out. Killcount can be had on low-leveled creatures, and the boss’s attacks can be avoided so long as you are not tanking. It is also one of the more popular bosses to team, so finding a group is usually easier than the other bosses. Please note that this is an introduction for newcomers: this is just one of the multitude of strategies applicable in God Wars. Good luck!

Second room (Fear) Keep looking at the dark holes one by one until you have fought enough of the reapers to proceed. After your character has killed five Fear Reapers, he is not afraid any more and you get a short cutscene. Go through the black hole on the western wall.
Third room (Confusion) In this room there are a lot of hallucination creatures and one real creature in every group of monsters. Attack the creatures and try to find the right one. The the fake monsters will disappear after they have taken eight hits. They won’t take any damage but they can poison you. When you fight real monster it will take damage when you fight it. You have to kill the real monster of the group five times to get the wrong doors to disappear. Enter the only door on the left after the cutscene to proceed.
Fourth room (Hopelessness) In this room there are crawling creatures that attack you with blue projectiles. The projectiles will not hurt you but they will drain a bit of your Prayer skill. The creatures also attack you with melee and can damage you a little. Attack the hopeless creatures until they die off completely. They will get smaller and replenish their health fully two times, so you have to reduce their hit points bar to zero three times. After they are dead, and you watch the cutscene, proceed through the bridge of hope.
Fifth room Attack the three heads. They can poison you too. After killing the three heads, Tolna will appear. After another short cutscene, talk to him to get teleported back ot the surface. Speak with Tolna again to complete the quest.

Required Skills: Level 15 Attack, Level 25 Prayer.

NPC: Ambassador Alvijar, Ur-tag, Tegdak, Zanik, Goblin scribe, General Bentnoze, General Wartface, Sergeant Mossfists, Sergeant Slimetoes.
ANOTHER SLICE OF H.A.M. QUEST WALKTHROUGH
Speak with either Ur-Tag or the dwarven Ambassador at Ur-Tag’s house. You are given an option to speak. Respond, “What are you talking about?” to find out that a train link is being built to Dorgesh-Kaan and that there are some goblin bones and artefacts from the Dorgeshuun’s Civil War found in the path of the tracks.
Head west and then south on this floor until you reach a doorway marked by an arrow on your mini-map. Enter the doorway. Head south and talk to Tegdak who will give you a trowel and Specimen brush. Use the trowel on the two artefact piles between the tables and the four piles south of the tables. After you have all six artefacts, use them on the Specimen table to clean them off. Take them to Tegdak who will describe each one of them, telling you that the mace is covered with symbols. He will tell you to take it to the Scribe (located in the council chamber at the north end of the second floor), who will ask you to show it to the Goblin Generals in the Goblin Village.

Zanik doesn’t want to walk and suggests that Oldak (down the stairs in the building west of the council chamber) may be able to teleport you. Talk to him in order to be teleported to the Goblin Village, and recieve a sphere to bring you back. Once at the village, talk to one of the Generals and a cinematic of sorts begins. While this is happening, you will find out that the mace takes away God’s favour on an individual. In addition, a goblin named Grubfoot says that Zanik is the Chosen Commander, destined to lead the goblins to victory. The village will then come under attack from two snipers in the tower. This will initiate Zanik’s talk to the entire village.

To get to the attackers, you will have to go around the buildings to remain out of sight. Once up the ladder, a H.A.M. Mage (Level 30) and H.A.M. Archer (Level 30) will attack you from behind some crates. Kill them and you will find that Sigmund is attacking Zanik and eventually kidnaps her. He plans to kill her in the tunnel that is being built via an access that H.A.M. members have dug in the Lumbridge Swamp Caves.

Once at the entrance, talk to one of the goblins and they will offer to distract any guards that come across. Head down the rope, and then down the ladder nearby. A short cinematic will show a terrified H.A.M. member getting reinforcements. Act quickly. If you get attacked by any of the guards, you will get tossed out of the cave. If a H.A.M. guard attacks any of the goblins, do not worry about it. Talking to the goblins gives you the option of either having them follow you, or having one or both of them wait where they are. Run to the first corner and tell one of the goblins to wait there, and then go through the door. Wait there until both of the guards start attacking the goblin. Once this happens, head out until you reach right before the next corner, and tell the goblin to stay there. Go around the corner to get the guards to follow you. Then run back around it, leaving a distance behind the goblin. Once both of the guards are busy attacking the goblins, run past them and down the ladder at the end.

Now you must fight Sigmund again, who will use protection spells. Wield the Ancient Mace and use the special attack on him, which will drain the entire special bar, but also deplete all of his prayer. The special will not work everytime so you will need to try again. You will know that it worked when Sigmund says his prayer is suddenly gone. From here, you can choose any weapon you have with you to finish him off. Once you have defeated him, you have to untie Zanik. The quest is complete and you receive your reward.

three initial ways to earn money in runescape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Money Cheats

Hints: Three ways for runescape money:
There are three initial ways to earn money in runescape:

Killing things: One of the most entertaining, but not the quickest, way to earn cash. Certain monsters drop what you need. Drops varry from coins, to items [most likely something that you're too high a level for you to even consider using.] that can sell at certain shops. Selling to a shop which specializes in that item gets you more money [sell shield to shield shop, mace to mace shop ect...]. Killing players NOT recommended, you usually face other people who have that same idea in mind…

The second way, is raising skills. Raising minning, fishing, and woodcutting are popular. Woodcutting earns 5 coins a log, 25 a willow log, if you’re a member 100 coins maple, 250 coins yews, and if you’re a member, 1,000 coin magic logs. Fish sell for 100 a tuna, 200 a lobster, 300 a swordfish [VERY HARD TO BANK for non members, not recommened]. Then there’s minning, where you have to pay the most attention. Iron sells 50gp each, coal 150 each, mithril I’m a bit unsure but 450gps or so, adamant REALLY unsure but nearly 1k per, and runite 10k an ore! This gets dull after a while, but it’s a good way to start getting money or to continue in it and get to the good stuff [gets better as you reach adamant, very long though, patience a must]. If you would be interested in selling any of these items to me, I’m willing to buy :].

Last, but really the least, picking stuff up. It is the worse way of making money…but, you can do it with some risk it pays off. What I would do is wander in the wilderness [DO NOT TRUST ANYONE WHATSOEVER] and collect certain prizes. There is an area rather deep with iron and steel items [as mentioned in above posts probably] and there is also a spot in 38 or so wilderness that is partially surrounded by grass and guarded with moss giants who watch over chaos runes. These can bring in 100 or so gold each, and with proper care, you can get all 5 on the ground and find a spot where you can’t be hit. DON’T BE GREEDY, get like 50 if you can, maybe 100 tops. It’s recommended you sell in quantities of 1000 to get full price, if you try to sell ten or so people will call you a noob and no one will buy them. If you sell 1000 or more, you might be able to negotiate 110 each…but that’s a maybe. You can test out the buyers limit by saying a high price, then lowering it if it’s too costly. Picking up items can get you a small load, but if you are going to pick up chaos, GET READY TO BE WOOPED OVER AND OVER.

Hints: Santa Hat:
Kill high level monsters such as White Knight, Ice Giants, etc. on December 25.

Hints: Scife:
To get a scife in Runescape you must go to Varrock. Go to the place with a bunch of logs. Get your magic high enough to use weaken. Use weaken on the log pile. A level 22 Tree Spirit will appear. If you kill it it will drop a scife and nature runes.

Hints: Prayer level up:
Use the following trick to increase your prayer points. Gather bones off the floor and bury them to get experience in the Pray area. If you continue to do this, your Prayer points will be high enough to increase your strength or other stats. It is also good to put everything [including armor] you have in the bank. Then, go around picking up and burying bones when you cannot carry any more. There is a chicken farm near the starting point. Go northeast from the starting point to find the bridge. Cross the bridge and head north to find the chicken farm.

Hints: Computer:
First you put moneybags on your list. When it logs in, a computer will tell it your serial number and password and it print money on it like anywhere from 60,000 to 1,000,000,000 GP or you get rune item. He is usually on on saturdays and a few times during week. You can only do this 2 times on each serial number and if you do it more times you get cut off!

Hints: Oil cans:
The following is the order of switches for retrieving the oil can at Draynor Manor: A: Up, B: Up, C: Down, D: Down E: Up F: Down.

The following is the order of levers to retrieving the oil can in the basement of the castle: A: A B: B C: D D: A E: B F: E G: F H: C I: E.

Hints: Red Spider Eggs:
