Set Combining or Splitting

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

Another technique is to work with armour sets. Occasionally an armour set can be bought, split up into its component parts, and sold for a profit. Occasionally, the reverse will be true: the component parts could be bought and the armour set could then be sold for a profit.

Be aware that this method is only for experienced merchants, price changes must be monitored on not just one item, but sometimes five items or more simultaneously (the set price and all the component prices). Unexpected trouble obtaining or selling one of the component parts can quickly turn a profit into a large loss.

This method is extremely difficult (and not recommended) for F2P merchants, as they only have 2 slots to work with.

edit Potion Decanting

The Method

Bob Barter, the potion decanter and herb expert of the Grand Exchange

Potion decanting is a great way of making money for the lower levels. In fact, you don’t need any levels at all to use this method for making money! This involves converting potions into a different doses to sell for a greater value than the original potion. Although currently on the GE a potion’s value is simply based on the amount of doses it has (a 2-dose is always half the value of a 4-dose potion), the potions’ values fluctuate in the min/max price range, and therefore the actual price鈥攖he price at which a dose can be sold on the GE鈥攐f a 2-dose potion may be higher or lower than that of a 4-dose potion.

One example of a potion to decant would be the Antifire potion: Buy a set (at the mid price or lower) of, let’s say 100 Antifire potion(3). Go to the Grand Exchange, and go to the southwest corner where Bob Barter is. Right click him, and select “decant”. He will then turn all 1, 2, and 3 does potions into the 4 dose versions of each. This is essentially him using them all with each other, like players can do. Doing this with several inventories of potions converts the 100 (3) antifires into 75 Antifire potion(4), which can then sell for a higher price than the component parts (in this example, above the mid price). This is typically not a great profit-making scheme, but if the demand is there, profits can be increased proportionally with the investment.

Easy Ways to Make Quick Runescape Millions

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Making Runescape Money

I have tried out a couple of ways to earn quick money in Runescape, and I must say I have come across some amazing ways to make a quick million!

1. Mine and sell CLAY. Yes, CLAY. It sells for 100 gp a piece in the G.E. Whats even better is, if you make it soft clay, it sells for 160-180 gp EASILY. Now once you start doing that, you could also buy normal clay, wet it, and re-sell it at a higher price! I’ve made almost 2 million in 2 hours doing this! Clay also gets mined very easily and respawns in seconds!

2. After you’ve earned about 50k, spend it all on buying iron ore and coal in a 1 to 2 ratio (once your smithing level is 30). Like if you buy a 100 iron ore, buy 200 coal. Now smelt these into steel bars, and sell them off for a good price of 625 gp (iron costs 89 gp and 2 coals cost 370 gp giving you an easy profit of almost 250 gp per bar sold). Also a quick way to smelt and store is in Al-Kharid and Falador where the furnace is very close to a bank.

3. Catch and sell LOBSTERS. I must admit that this has been one of the main sources of income for me, just head to Karamja with nothing but a lobster pot and some coins (to travel) and fill your inventory with lobsters. Take them back to Draynor village or Falador and put them in a bank. When you have about 350-400, sell them off at a price of 330 gp (approx) for a nice 100k!

4. Merchanting is also a great way to earn money. Buy low, and sell high! Buy tons of cooked lobsters (or any item with a large price range and which sells good) at its minimum price and sell it off at its maximum. People going for long battles buy loads of cooked lobsters because they heal a lot of HP.

5. Another way is to start your own business, let’s say you pay people to mine iron and coal for you, in a one to two ratio. Pay them a little lower than the max price on the G.E., preferably at market price. Buy in bulk and sell these in the G.E. at max price. I once had a guy working for me, who sold me almost 2000 iron ores at 80 gp every week! I then resold it at 95 gp for a quick resale profit of 30k!
