Bigger Banks & Treasure Trails

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Runescape Guide

Bigger bank space
As promised we have now increased the size of your bank accounts. We have increased the size of both free and members banks by 25%. So free users get another 12 slots and members get another 48.
Treasure trails
Today we have released treasure trails into RuneScape. Various npcs on members servers will now ocassionaly drop random clues.

Each clue points to the location of another random clue. Solve enough clues (and maybe face one or two other challenges) and you will eventually find treasure, which could be anything from food or weapons to various rare items which can only be found on treasure trails.

Stronger monsters will tend to drop harder clues which will tend to lead towards more valuable treasure. Be warned the hardest clues are very tricky indeed.

You can’t be on more than one treasure trail at once. If you have a clue, npcs won’t drop more clues until you solve the trail you are on, or you abandon the trail by dropping your current clue.

Treasure clue are a fairly rare drop. A similar sort of rarity to low level gems, although not necessarily on the same monsters. If you just keep playing normally you will get them as a pleasant suprise from time to time.

Good luck and happy treasure hunting!

Faster herblaw secondary ingredients respawns.
Various players have pointed out to us the spawn rate of certain herblaw ingredients had slowed down. So we have sped them up. You should be able to get your snape grass, white berries and jangerberries nice and quickly.

Runescape WITCH’S HOUSE QUEST STRATEGY GUIDE

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Talk to the little boy at Taverly.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: 6325 Hits xp.
Quest points gained: 4.
Required Items: Gloves (spawn south of Edgeville bank, or in the quest it is possible to search the boxes for one), Cheese (spawn at the house in Draynor).
Monsters: Witches Experiment (levels 19, 30, 42 & 53)
NPC: Nora T. Hagg, Boy.

WITCH’S HOUSE QUEST WALKTHROUGH
First of all you need to make your way to the gate entrance of Taverly. Just past it you will see a little boy standing by the hedge. Talk to him and he will ask you if you can get his ball back for him. Go around the hedge and you will come to the door of the house. You will find that the door is locked and you will find the key under the first pot to your left. Go in the door and go upstairs and look around for the diary and read it. Go back downstairs and into the basement. Wear your leather gloves, if you do not have the gloves yet, search crates until you get a pair. Go through the gate and search the cupboard for the magnet. Go back upstairs and into the little room with the door that leads to the garden and drop your cheese and a mouse will come out. Attach the magnet to the mouse and it will unlock the door. Be cautious: the mouse goes away in about 20 seconds and you lose your cheese if you fail to attach the magnet in time. Now you are in the garden you will see the witch patrolling. The trick here is not to let her see you. If she does she will teleport you outside of the house, take away the magnet from the mouse and you will have to go in again. Go all the way round until you reach the fountain. Search around the sides of the fountain, you will find the key to the shed. It may take several attempts to find the key, but it is there. Please note: You have to read the whole of the diary to find the key. Go to the shed and use the key on it. Try to take the ball and a shape shifter or ‘Witches Experiment’ will appear and turn into 4 different monsters, each one harder than the other: Its original form, a spider, a bear and a wolf. Once you beat the Shape Shifter, collect the ball. Be careful not to get caught on your way out. When you have the ball, you may still not be seen by the witch. If she sees you, you’ll be teleported out, and you will lose the key to the shed, and the ball. Give the ball to the boy. This completes the quest and you will never be able to re-enter the witch’s house again.

Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: Around 14,400 attack exp, 17,200 strength exp, 2 gold bars, 2 cut diamonds and 40 mith seeds.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Skills: Be able to fight level 86 fire giants.
Required Items: Six of air, earth and water runes. Also need a few ropes. You can get ropes from Ned in Draynor Village, or from Arheln at his boat in Catherbury.
Monsters: Shadow spiders (level 52), Fire giants (level 86)
NPC: Almera (House north-east of Baxtorian Falls), Hudan (Western side of the river), Hadley (House south-east of Baxtorian Falls).

WATERFALL QUEST WALKTHROUGH
After talking to Almera, head around to the back of her house and board the raft there. It will take you towards the waterfall, but crash half way there. You should now see a little boy named Hudan. Talk with him, use your rope on the rock on the next island downstream which has the option “Swim to”. After that, use your rope on the dead tree on the island and you should end up at the door to the waterfall. Don’t enter it yet or you will take damage.
Jump in the barrel and you will be taken off the waterfall. Enter the house just north of where the barrel took you and talk with Hadley. After that go upstairs and search the bookcase to find the book named “Book on Baxtorian”. Read it and talk with Hadley again. After that you will have to go to the gnome maze and down the ladder just before the entrance to the Gnome Village. Go to the east and you will find a lot of crates and boxes, search them and you will find a key.
*X* When you have the key, go west and open the jail door. Inside you will find a little gnome, talk with him and he will drop a lot of junk. You will search it and find a pebble, ask if you can keep it. Now bank all of your armour and weapons and go back to Hadley’s house, go up to the grave a little north-east of there. Use the pebble on the tombstone and you will be taken down into the tomb. Go west and open the chest there, search it and you will find Glarials Amulet.
Note: You will not be able to enter the tomb if you have any armour or weapons on you.
Now take the southern path and search the tomb there. You will find an urn, exit the tomb again and go to the bank. Get out the runes, rope and whatever you will need to fight level 93 fire giants etc (keep the urn and amulet), and head back to the waterfall. Once again board the raft and use your rope on the rock, then your rope on the dead tree. But this time, wear the amulet and enter the waterfall. There will be 3 paths, one going east, one directly north and one west.
Note: Shadow Spiders drain half your prayer points.
Firstly go east and you will end up in a room with a lot of crates. Search them and you will find a key. Now go to the western path and enter the room with Fire Giants, go all the way north and use your key on the door to open it, now pick up the key on the floor and go through the next door. You will now be in a room with 6 pillars, use one air, one water and one earth rune on each of them, and then use your amulet on the Statue of Glarial. Use your urn with the Chalice and you will have completed the quest.

When you try and open it, it will say you must defeat Dad.
Go in and defeat Dad (level 101, and does knock backs), and exit the arena using the other gate and follow the path. Go through several small caves and you will come to a circular mountain / maze - do not climb it, go round it to the areas to the northwest, again avoiding thrower trolls.
Walk through this area to an entrance to the stronghold where there will be lots of Trolls (level 69), enter the stronghold and go west to kill a general level 113, the general will hit a lot on you, so use protection from melee against him, he will drop a prison key. Starting location: Father Reen, South from Al Kharid Bank.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: Darklight Sword, 10,000 exp in a combat skill of your choice.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Quests: Demon Slayer and The Golem quest.
Required Skills: Level 30 Crafting.
Required Items: Silverlight, pestle and a mortar, empty vial, Desert shirt and Desert Robes(or black dragonhide body and chaps), Black Wizards Hat(or black mystic hat) and a Silver ore/bar.
Suggested Items: Some food and good melee equipment.
Monsters: Agrith Naar (level 100).
NPC: Father Reen, Father Badden, Evil Dave, Denath, Matthew Tanya, Eric, Jennifer and Patrick.

First of all you need to talk to Father Reen located south from Al Kharid bank. Tell him that you are the one he seeks and accept to help him. If you do not have a silverlight, he will give it to you. Head out to Shantay pass, get your silverlight from the bank chest if you haven’t got it yet. Buy a pass and continue to the desert. If possible, use the magic carpet to get to Uzer. Otherwise keep walking east until you reach Uzer. Talk to Father Badden who is located in the ruins. Ask him what you need to do. He needs you to infiltrate the group of Denath. Go east and downstairs from the ruins. Go north to the gates and talk to Evil Dave. Ask him if you can join to the group and tell him that you are evil. He says you don’t look evil. Grab some black mushrooms down there and use one of them on your silverlight. You need some more evil clothes and wear at least two of them with just your black silverlight. You can dye the desert clothes with black dye by using pestle and mortar on a black mushroom when you have a vial in your inventory. Wear your evil clothes and talk to Evil Dave. He will let you inside the Throne Room. Note: You don’t need to use the evil clothes after this to get to the Throne Room. You will now see a short cut-scene and you get to talk to Denath. Ask him what you need to do. He will tell you an incantation that differs between players. Memorize the incantation or write it down. Talk to Matthew, ask him about everything and he should tell you about a book and what happened to Josef. Then talk to Jennifer and ask for the demonic sigil mould. Go to Al Kharid. Use your silver ore on the furnace and craft a Demonic Sigil Mould. Go back to Uzer and ask the Golem about last night. He will tell you that he saw Josef hide the book in one of the broken kilns. Rotate among the 4 searchable kilns in the desert. Search them until you find the book. Take it to the Throne room to Matthew. Once you have talked to him, the ritual will commence. Take your place in the circle in the empty place. Start the chanting by right clicking the Demonic Sigil. Choose the chant-option and say the incantation that you memorized or wrote down earlier. You will now see some cut-scenes and you are asked to get the people remaining back to the circle. Instead you will need to pick up the sigils of those people. Go outside to see Tanya die. Ask Evil Dave to go back to the throne. Go out and talk to the monks. After convincing they accept to take part in the summoning. The Golem won’t come before you, go back downstairs, get the Strange Implement from the northwest corner and use it on him. Go back through the portal and talk to Matthew. Get yourself prepared to fight a level 100 demon. The demon uses magic and melee that you can’t run away from. Tell him that you are ready. This time say the chant another way around and Agrith Naar will appear. Kill him from close range. Note: If you try to get away from him he will teleport you back next to him. Once you have killed him you’re done.. This completes the quest..

Second room (Fear) Keep looking at the dark holes one by one until you have fought enough of the reapers to proceed. After your character has killed five Fear Reapers, he is not afraid any more and you get a short cutscene. Go through the black hole on the western wall.
Third room (Confusion) In this room there are a lot of hallucination creatures and one real creature in every group of monsters. Attack the creatures and try to find the right one. Quest difficulty level: Easy.
Reward: A used crystal bow or shield, 10,000 strength experience.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Skills: Must be able to defeat a level 84 without weapons, runes or armour.
Required advantage skills: Level 40-43 prayer (protect from missiles and protect from Melee).

Required Quests: Regicide quest and the Waterfall quest.
Monsters: Moss giant (level 84)
NPC: Islwyn (main quest npc), Eluned.

ROVING ELVES QUEST WALKTHROUGH

THE START
Items for this part: Anti poison and some food.
Description: To start off, go the quick route to Arandar, you can find this on your map, it’s located south-west of the gnome stronghold and north east of Ardougne. From the big gates, follow the road that leads south. You will pass some dire wolfs. Continue south over a balance log and then over some jump-leaves. Further south you will find a trap-wire, step over it, if you get hit, you’ll also be poisoned so drink some anti-poison. You will run into some dire wolfs. Run past them and you’ll find two elves. Talk to the male one, Islwyn. Tell him the truth, then tell him you will help him.

THE PEBBLE
Description: If you have the pebble in your bank you can skip this part, otherwise you will have to go to the gnome village. The gnome village is the maze on the map, a quicker way is the teleportation tree inside the gnome stronghold. From here, go to the dungeon mark on the map. Go down and to the west. You will find an old man. Talk to him and get the pebble.

THE CONSECRATION SEED
Items for this part: Glarial’s pebble, food. Do not take any armour, weapons or runes.
Description: You will need to do this if you have the amulet as well. Make sure you have your prayer points filled if you plan on using magic or melee protection. Look on your world map for a house south of the Baxtorian Falls, it’s east of the gnome stronghold and north of Ardougne. From here head a little north east until you see a small stone path leading to a tombstone. Use your pebble with the tombstone to get down. If it says that nothing happens, you are carrying an item that is not allowed down there, like a piece of armour, a weapon or some runes. Otherwise, you will be teleported into the tomb. Use any potions right here and put your prayer on, now run to the next room and you will find yourself attacked by a level 84 moss giant. He uses a combined magic and melee attack, so he hits with both in one hit. This means that either of these blocks will get his damage down, but not stop him completely. Kill him with your bare hands to get the consecration seed. If you don’t have glarial’s amulet, head further west to a chest, quickly open and search it with left clicks, since there is another moss giant here. Run back to where you started and up the ladder. You will have to go all the way back to the quest start and talk to Eluned. She will enchant your seed.

PLANTING THE SEED
Items for this part: Rope, Glarial’s amulet, spade, some food and something to teleport with.
Description: Take all the items for this part and go to the starting location of the waterfall quest. It’s in the house north-west of the tomb where you got the pebble. Go to the west outside the house to find a raft. Use the raft to get down the river. You will crash halfway. Go to the south of your little island and you will see a rock with a “swim to” option. Don’t use this, use your rope on the rock instead. Here you will see a dead tree. Use your rope on that as well. You will find a door, go through it. From here, take the path to the eastern room. Go to the creates located the furthest to the north. Search them to find a key. Now go back to the main room and then west. Go past the fire giants to a locked door. Use your key on it to get through. You will find another key on the floor here. Pick it up and use it on the next door to the north. You will be inside the room where you finished the waterfall quest. Go to the urn and left-click the seed while standing next to it. You will dig a hole, bury the seed and see a small crystal tree growing. It will disappear right away. Either teleport out or walk outside the waterfall and get inside the barrel there.

THE REWARD
Description: Go back to Islwyn to claim your reward. You can pick either a crystal bow or shield as part of the reward. This completes the quest.

Runescape THE PATH OF GLOUPHRIE QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Speak to King Bolren in the Tree Gnome Village near the Spirit Tree.
Quest difficulty level: Medium.
Reward: 5000 Magic, 5000 Thieving, 20000 Slayer, 30000 Strength, Crystal chime, a new spirit tree and a new way to use the spirit tree network.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Quests: Waterfall Quest, Eyes of Glouphrie.
Required Skills: Level 45 Agility, Level 47 Ranged, Level 56 Slayer, Level 56 Thieving, Level 60 Strength.
Required Items: Crossbow (any metal), mithril grapple, crystal saw or small crystal seed.
Monsters: Warped Terrorbird (Level 143).
NPC: King Bolren, Golrie, Longramble, Hazelmere.

THE PATH OF GLOUPHRIE QUEST WALKTHROUGH
To begin, head to the Tree Gnome Village and talk to King Bolren in the center. After you talk to him, he will tell you to find an anti-illusion device somewhere in the village. So go right outside the village, through the gate and down the ladder with the “!” Take the west path and talk to the gnome Golrie.
Now you need the key to get into Golrie’s storeroom. Head back east and go north until you reach another room. Crawl through the tunnel on the north side. Push the big monolith north and go around it. Push the monolith you can north and then the one above that east twice. Go around and push the small monolith south. Push the big monolith west twice and open the mahogany chest. You will find that you can’t. Search the chests north of you to get some crystal shapes, Yewnock’s notes and a storeroom key. Use the storeroom key on the chest.

You will get a strongroom key, now go go around the monoliths and push the south one west and go west towards the gate. Use the key on the gate to enter. Here’s the hard part, you have to try and solve the puzzle, if you need more shapes go back into the previous room and search the crates. The shapes in which you receive vary from person to person. You may have to exchange your shapes to get the right ones. Just follow what you did for the Eyes Of Glouphrie quest. The main point is to equal what’s in there. The shapes’ value is the number of sides on the shape multiplied the colour value according to the chart. So and orange triangle would be 3(sides) x 2(Color value) = 6.

Once you’ve solved the puzzle, get some good armor, food, watch, sextant, chart, crystal saw, mithril grapple and prayer potions and talk to King Bolren again. Kill the evil monster and continue to talk. Now talk to Aluft Gianne Jr. in the Tree Gnome Stronghold, (Second floor, to the west) you can use the tree next to you. He will give you a set of coordinates. Here is where you need your watch, sextant and chart. Find the coordinates and go to them. To get there, go south of Castle Wars and then head far west, use your mithril grapple on the tree and swing across. Talk to Longramble. You may want you to give him some gnome food until he helps you. (If you bring Longramble his order of Tangled Toad Legs, he will give you a Mint Cake as a reward)

After you talk to Longramble head north and talk to the dead looking spirit tree. You will talk to Hazelmere and you will go through a cutscene. You will now need to find elven magic to cure the spirit tree. Now go back to the Tree Gnome Village and back to the cave with the monoliths.

Use your crystal seed/saw on the singing bowl and get the crystal chimes and head back to the spirit tree. Use the chimes on the tree for a cut scene. Now go west and south and enter the sewers. You can’t teleport out of the dungeon. Walk past the warped tortoise and up the ladder. (It is strongly recommended that you avail yourself with range and melee protection prayer here, as you can dealt heavy damage without) Go into the area with the warped terrorbirds and follow it. Go around the “U” bend and down the ladder. Follow the path. Go up another ladder and keep following the path past the warped animals, you’ll get to a metal door. Go through it and around the “U” bend and down the ladder. Go east and up the next ladder, go west or east around the big hole and through the door. Now go to the east door and go through fight the terrorbirds. Use the chimes on them to be able to hit them. After you have used the chimes on them you can attack them.

Once you’ve defeated the terrorbirds, peek through the hatch door and you will see a cutscene. Hazelmere will come and rescue you from the gas; don’t worry about dying. He will explain to you he is a mage and you will get your reward after.

Reward: 2,000-3,000 exp in hits, defence and crafting + a silver sickle. Furthermore you will be allowed to use the nature spirit altar which gives you +2 prayer points when prayer at it the second time.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: Level 18 crafting, done Priest in Peril.

NPC: Drezel (Under the temple, go down the ladder go the north of it), Ulizius (Gates to Mort Myre), Filliman Tarlock (Main npc, island in south Mort Myre), Father Urhney (Lumbridge swamps).

NATURE SPIRIT QUEST WALKTHROUGH
After you’ve talked with Drezel, head through the portal and in to Morytania. Go south-east until you reach a gate with ulizius outside it. Walk through the gate (ignore the warning), and go as far south as you can. You should see an island.
Go to the southern side of the island, and jump the bridge. Try speaking with Filliman Tarlock and he will only speak gibberish.
Amulet of Ghost Speak: If you already have it from the restless ghost quest, jump to the next step. If you don’t have the amulet, here’s what you do: Go back to Drezel and tell him about the spirit, he will tell you about the amulet. You then have to go to the Lumbridge swamps and talk with Father Urhney in the most south-eastern house there. He will give you the amulet. Go back to Filliman.
When talking with Filliman try to convince him that he’s a ghost, and he won’t believe you. Go and pick up the washing bowl on the table to the west of Filliman, and under that you should find a mirror, pick it up and use it on Filliman. He will now believe that he is in fact a ghost.
Filliman will talk about his journal, to find this, search the Grotto, and then speak with him again. Filliman will speak about becoming a Nature Spirit, he will give you a druid spell and tell you that he need three things:
Something with faith: Go to Drezel and ask if he can bless you, he will tell you that you are the “something with faith”. After that go back to Fillimans island.
Something of the nature: Cast the druid spell near some of the dead logs. When you’ve done that, pick a fungus up, and head back to Filliman.
Something of a spirit-to-become freely given: This is your spell.
Then search the 3 stones on the ground around Filliman and use the fungus on the nature stone, the spell paper on the spirit stone, and stand on top of the faith stone yourself. Speak with Filliman and say that you have figured out the puzzle. He will cast a spell, and become a nature spirit. Enter the Grotto and speak with Filliman.
After you’ve entered the Grotto and spoken with Filliman, he will ask you to make a silver sickle. To do this you need a mould from the Al-Kharid crafting store, and a silver bar. Use the silver bar on a furnace (closest is in Al-Kharid), and make a sickle. Go back to Filliman in the Grotto, and he will bless it for you.
Note: Make sure you have prayer points, you need them to use the sickle.
Now he will give you a druid pouch and ask you to kill three of the ghasts outside. To do this, you will need to right click your sickle and choose “Cast bloom spell” (you can only do this if you’re not wielding it) near some logs and dead bushes. Pick up the pieces of nature that appears around you. When you have three, choose “fill” on your druid pouch, and then try to locate some of the ghasts.
When a ghast tries to attack you now, they will become visible, and you can attack them. Kill three and go back to Filliman. This completes the quest.

THE DAUGHTER’S BODY
Items for this part: Weapons, armour, food, hatchet.

Go in here and south to find a bear called Kendal. Talk to him and try a few options until you get an option about him looking like a man in a suit instead of a god. Choose this and talk to him about wanting to take the corpse of the girl, then tell him you will kill him.

Go back to the middle of the lake one last time and try to bury the corpse. Now use one of the rocks with the burial grounds to finish the quest.
