Firemaking - Extra Features

Posted by: amber  //  Category: Runescape Skills

Iron Spits

Requires Level 20 Firemaking

This piece of equipment can be used to cook some meats on an open fire. You can cook rabbit and chompy meat on the spit. For further information about how to use the spit, please see the extra features of the cooking section.

Dorgeshuun Lightorbs

The cave goblins of Dorgesh-Kaan have a curious system of lightorbs with which they stave off the darkness. If you wish to repair them, you’ll discover a new way of earning Firemaking experience. Click here to read about repairing the lamps of Dorgesh-Kaan.

Haunted Woods Torches

While you are woodcutting in the Haunted Woods, you can light the torches there to gain valuable Firemaking experience. To light a torch you will need a piece of bark from the hollow trees in the area, a tinderbox, and level 47 Firemaking. Lighting the torches will also net you a handy restore of 10 prayer points: useful if you are being ’swamped’ by vampires.

Gnomish Firelighters

When completing a Treasure Trail of any level, you may well receive some ‘gnomish firelighters’. The higher the level of your clue scroll, the more firelighters you are likely to receive. These firelighters can be applied to logs, and will always succeed in igniting them. The best part, though, is that the logs will burn with delightfully coloured flames!

Summoning Familiars

Using the Summoning skill, you’ll find that there are a few familiars that might be useful for training your Firemaking. Of particular note are the beasts of burden, who can carry items for you. In addition to whatever else they can do for you, these familiars will increase the amount of time you can train before having to head to a bank.

Barbarian Assault Double XP

It is possible to get double XP when firemaking with logs. Travel to Barbarian Assault and talk to Commander Connad to receive a penance horn; this can be charged by playing waves of the activity, as long as you ensure that the switch in the waiting room is changed to ‘XP’. With charges on the horn, you will automatically receive double XP when firemaking with logs. You can then ‘check-potential’ the horn at any time to find out how many charges remain on it.

Firemaking Training in Dungeoneering

It is possible to train all of your skills while dungeoneering, and Firemaking is no exception. You can light fires using the wood of Daemonheim, and ignite its furnaces and ranges. You can also gain Firemaking experience by completing firemaking skill doors.

Effectiveness Level requirement Details Other requirements
***** Level 1 Players can buy unblessed symbols at the Grand Exchange for 40 coins each. If they have completed the Observatory Quest, they can also have their unblessed unholy symbols blessed by the spirit of Scorpius, turning them into Unholy symbols. Completion of Observatory quest

***** Level 50 You can buy the Unblessed symbol in the Grand Exchange for 40 coins each. You will need an Unholy book for unholy symbols or a Holy book for holy symbols (The Book of balance can bless either symbol), an inventory of unblessed or unpowered symbols, a minimum of 4 prayer points, and an altar close to a bank (Some places with altars near banks include Ardougne, Varrock, or a Player-owned house in Yanille. You will need the altar to recharge your prayer as each blessing takes at least 4 prayer points to bless. The use of prayer potions would cost more than profit made from blessing the symbols. This will give you a profit of 89 for a Holy symbol and 159 for an Unholy symbol. Completion of Horror from the Deep
***** Recommended Level 60 You can use the ability of the blessed silver sickle from your worn equipment tab next to logs in Mort Myre Swamp and then pick up the fungi that appear on the log. These can be sold for 1,502 each. It is recommended to use teleport to house tabs if you have an altar and a Kharyll teleport (must have done Desert Treasure quest) in your Player Owned House. However if you do not have an altar, teleport to Kharyll and/or have level 60 prayer, bring a prayer potion — although prayer potions bring down the profit of this if you buy them off the Grand Exchange. Alternatively, you can recharge your prayer points at the altar in the Nature Spirit grotto. Using prayer potions it is possible to make up to 450,000 coins per hour at the current price for the mushrooms (1,502 coins each). Completion of Priest in Peril

TROLL ROMANCE QUEST WALKTHROUGH

THE START
Items for this part: Climbing boots or 12gp, some (low) food (optional), prayer points (optional).
Description: To start off, go to the troll stronghold, it’s located north from Burthorpe. You will need some climbing boots; you can buy them from Terzing for 12gp. Terzing is located on the southwest end of the Troll Mountains. Go all the way past the stone throwing trolls (use protect from range prayer if you can). Get inside the Troll Stronghold and head east. Go down the stairs and head west, until you find a doorway. Go through it and to the west side of the room, you will find a troll crying. This is Ug, the start of your quest. Talk to him about Aga.

AGA
Description: Head east to the end of the next room, you will find Aga, ask her about her love life. Then continue about “Trollweiss”.

UG PART 2
Description: Talk to Ug about the flower, he will tell you only someone who has lived in the mountains all his life knows how to get the Trollweiss.

TENZING
Description: Go back all the way trough the mountains to Tenzing. This is the Sherpa as where you could also buy climbing boots. Ask him about Trollweiss. He will tell you it’s impossible to get, but keep insisting on going after it. He will finally tell you, you need a sled to go down. He will tell you to go see Dunstan.

DUNSTAN
Description: Ask him about the sled. Tell him you feel too old for one by pressing “yes”, he will ask why you need one and you will explain him. After this he will tell you what he needs to build one. He sends you off to find these items and says he’ll be working on the model meanwhile.

DUNSTAN PART 2
Items for this part: Maple or yew log, iron bar, rope
Description: You will need a maple or yew log, an iron bar and some rope for him to build a sled. Talk to him with these items in your inventory and he will build it.

WAXING THE SLED
Items for this part: Cake tin, insect repellent, swamp tar
Description: Go to the Catherby beehives. You will find a bucket respawn, pick one up. Use the bucket on any beehive while having the insect repellent in your inventory. You will get some honey. Use the swamp tar on the bucket with honey while having a cake tin with you. You will get some wax. Use the wax on the sled.

GET THE TROLLWEISS
Items for this part: Teleport ring/amulet/runes (optional).
Description: There is a route north of the stone throwing trolls. It could be useful to teleport there because it’s quite close and you won’t have to pass the stone throwers again. Follow the path to a closed ice-gate. West of here is a cave, go trough it, but be warned there are a lot of level 120 trolls, although they don’t seem aggressive. After this is a great ice plateau. Ride your slide here (you can go around like your walking). Go southwest (mostly south) past some wolves. You will find a “slope”. Go for the first option “slide slope”. You will get a small animated movie about sliding. Eventually you will stop sliding and be able to “walk” again. Go west to a plateau and pick some rare flowers. You only need one for the quest but if you like pick some more. Now you can do two things. Either you teleport out, or you slide down the next slope located to the south.

BACK TO UG
Items for this part: Throllweiss.
Description: Go back to Ug and give him the flower by talking to him. He tells you he is afraid of giving it to Aga because of Arrg. You will need to defeat Arrg.

DEFEATING ARRG
Description: The most difficult part of the quest. First talk to him. Tell him you came to kill him. You will be taken outside (can’t fight in front of a lady) and will need to kill him here. Be warned, he uses both melee as well as missile attacks (throwing rocks). If you don’t want to get hit, you will have to switch between melee protection and missile protection prayer really fast. Do make sure you keep an eye on your hit points because he might hit you anyway. After you beat him, just go back to Ug to finish the quest.

Runescape ROVING ELVES QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Talk to Islwyn inside the elfen woods.
Quest difficulty level: Easy.
Reward: A used crystal bow or shield, 10,000 strength experience.
Quest points gained: 1.
Required Skills: Must be able to defeat a level 84 without weapons, runes or armour.
Required advantage skills: Level 40-43 prayer (protect from missiles and protect from Melee).
Required Items: Anti poison potion, food, attack, strength or defence potions are an advantage, Glarial’s pebble, Glarial’s amulet are an advantage.
Required Quests: Regicide quest and the Waterfall quest.
Monsters: Moss giant (level 84)
NPC: Islwyn (main quest npc), Eluned.

ROVING ELVES QUEST WALKTHROUGH

THE START
Items for this part: Anti poison and some food.
Description: To start off, go the quick route to Arandar, you can find this on your map, it’s located south-west of the gnome stronghold and north east of Ardougne. From the big gates, follow the road that leads south. You will pass some dire wolfs. Continue south over a balance log and then over some jump-leaves. Further south you will find a trap-wire, step over it, if you get hit, you’ll also be poisoned so drink some anti-poison. You will run into some dire wolfs. Run past them and you’ll find two elves. Talk to the male one, Islwyn. Tell him the truth, then tell him you will help him.

THE PEBBLE
Description: If you have the pebble in your bank you can skip this part, otherwise you will have to go to the gnome village. The gnome village is the maze on the map, a quicker way is the teleportation tree inside the gnome stronghold. From here, go to the dungeon mark on the map. Go down and to the west. You will find an old man. Talk to him and get the pebble.

THE CONSECRATION SEED
Items for this part: Glarial’s pebble, food. Do not take any armour, weapons or runes.
Description: You will need to do this if you have the amulet as well. Make sure you have your prayer points filled if you plan on using magic or melee protection. Look on your world map for a house south of the Baxtorian Falls, it’s east of the gnome stronghold and north of Ardougne. From here head a little north east until you see a small stone path leading to a tombstone. Use your pebble with the tombstone to get down. If it says that nothing happens, you are carrying an item that is not allowed down there, like a piece of armour, a weapon or some runes. Otherwise, you will be teleported into the tomb. Use any potions right here and put your prayer on, now run to the next room and you will find yourself attacked by a level 84 moss giant. He uses a combined magic and melee attack, so he hits with both in one hit. This means that either of these blocks will get his damage down, but not stop him completely. Kill him with your bare hands to get the consecration seed. If you don’t have glarial’s amulet, head further west to a chest, quickly open and search it with left clicks, since there is another moss giant here. Run back to where you started and up the ladder. You will have to go all the way back to the quest start and talk to Eluned. She will enchant your seed.

PLANTING THE SEED
Items for this part: Rope, Glarial’s amulet, spade, some food and something to teleport with.
Description: Take all the items for this part and go to the starting location of the waterfall quest. It’s in the house north-west of the tomb where you got the pebble. Go to the west outside the house to find a raft. Use the raft to get down the river. You will crash halfway. Go to the south of your little island and you will see a rock with a “swim to” option. Don’t use this, use your rope on the rock instead. Here you will see a dead tree. Use your rope on that as well. You will find a door, go through it. From here, take the path to the eastern room. Go to the creates located the furthest to the north. Search them to find a key. Now go back to the main room and then west. Go past the fire giants to a locked door. Use your key on it to get through. You will find another key on the floor here. Pick it up and use it on the next door to the north. You will be inside the room where you finished the waterfall quest. Go to the urn and left-click the seed while standing next to it. You will dig a hole, bury the seed and see a small crystal tree growing. It will disappear right away. Either teleport out or walk outside the waterfall and get inside the barrel there.

THE REWARD
Description: Go back to Islwyn to claim your reward. You can pick either a crystal bow or shield as part of the reward. This completes the quest.

NATURE SPIRIT QUEST STRATEGY

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Speak with Drezel at the portal to Morytania.
Quest difficulty level: Easy.
Reward: 2,000-3,000 exp in hits, defence and crafting + a silver sickle. Furthermore you will be allowed to use the nature spirit altar which gives you +2 prayer points when prayer at it the second time.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: Level 18 crafting, done Priest in Peril.
Required Items: Sickle mould (Al-Kharid crafting store), Silver bar, Amulet of ghost speak. Note: Make sure you have prayer points before starting this quest, you need them to use the sickle later on.
Monsters: Ghast (30).
NPC: Drezel (Under the temple, go down the ladder go the north of it), Ulizius (Gates to Mort Myre), Filliman Tarlock (Main npc, island in south Mort Myre), Father Urhney (Lumbridge swamps).

NATURE SPIRIT QUEST WALKTHROUGH
After you’ve talked with Drezel, head through the portal and in to Morytania. Go south-east until you reach a gate with ulizius outside it. Walk through the gate (ignore the warning), and go as far south as you can. You should see an island.
Go to the southern side of the island, and jump the bridge. Try speaking with Filliman Tarlock and he will only speak gibberish.
Amulet of Ghost Speak: If you already have it from the restless ghost quest, jump to the next step. If you don’t have the amulet, here’s what you do: Go back to Drezel and tell him about the spirit, he will tell you about the amulet. You then have to go to the Lumbridge swamps and talk with Father Urhney in the most south-eastern house there. He will give you the amulet. Go back to Filliman.
When talking with Filliman try to convince him that he’s a ghost, and he won’t believe you. Go and pick up the washing bowl on the table to the west of Filliman, and under that you should find a mirror, pick it up and use it on Filliman. He will now believe that he is in fact a ghost.
Filliman will talk about his journal, to find this, search the Grotto, and then speak with him again. Filliman will speak about becoming a Nature Spirit, he will give you a druid spell and tell you that he need three things:
Something with faith: Go to Drezel and ask if he can bless you, he will tell you that you are the “something with faith”. After that go back to Fillimans island.
Something of the nature: Cast the druid spell near some of the dead logs. When you’ve done that, pick a fungus up, and head back to Filliman.
Something of a spirit-to-become freely given: This is your spell.
Then search the 3 stones on the ground around Filliman and use the fungus on the nature stone, the spell paper on the spirit stone, and stand on top of the faith stone yourself. Speak with Filliman and say that you have figured out the puzzle. He will cast a spell, and become a nature spirit. Enter the Grotto and speak with Filliman.
After you’ve entered the Grotto and spoken with Filliman, he will ask you to make a silver sickle. To do this you need a mould from the Al-Kharid crafting store, and a silver bar. Use the silver bar on a furnace (closest is in Al-Kharid), and make a sickle. Go back to Filliman in the Grotto, and he will bless it for you.
Note: Make sure you have prayer points, you need them to use the sickle.
Now he will give you a druid pouch and ask you to kill three of the ghasts outside. To do this, you will need to right click your sickle and choose “Cast bloom spell” (you can only do this if you’re not wielding it) near some logs and dead bushes. Pick up the pieces of nature that appears around you. When you have three, choose “fill” on your druid pouch, and then try to locate some of the ghasts.
When a ghast tries to attack you now, they will become visible, and you can attack them. Kill three and go back to Filliman. This completes the quest.

Detailed Boss Information

Damis

He has 2 forms, use Protect from Melee with both if you can. The first form (Level 103, 95 HP) is easy and just drains about half your prayer at the beginning of the battle. The second form (Level 174, 160 HP) can be extremely hard if you let him drain your prayer. He drains your prayer 4-6 points every time he hits and he hits fast and up to 28+ damage. You will need lots Prayer Potions and a Ddp++ to poison him. Claws of Guthix is useful to drain his Defense. His Defense is extremely high so it is very hard to get melee damage off. You can use a safe spot northwest of where he attacks you (it is still in multi combat area) to hide and eat. You cannot safely use Magic, Range or a Halberd from this spot, when you do you will automatically walk to where Damis can attack you and most likely take damage and lose prayer points from his attack.

Kamil

He is Level 154 with 130 HP and can be hard to Melee because every time he freezes you it will stop your melee attack and you will have to attack him again manually. He uses Melee and Ice Magic that will freeze you in place (and can do quite a bit of damage). Use Protect from Melee; Mystic or Dragonhide armor should deflect some of his magic attacks. He has medium HP, so several good Fire Magic attacks can finish him off. Take food for the damage he will do with Magic attacks. He is in an area where your stats (noncombat included) will be drained 1 or more points every 5-10 seconds you are there.

Fareed

He is Level 169 with 130 HP and does incredible Melee damage if you let him but not if you use Protect from Melee. He can do up to 43+ damage if you don’t have Protect on! He uses a magic attack that seems similar to Flames of Zamorak (which can do up to 20-30 damage and drain your Magic level) but he rarely uses it and it doesn’t seem to do much damage when he does. It is unconfirmed whether it drains any stats or not. He has medium HP, so a few good Water Waves will finish him off. You will want Prayer Potions, some food and Water Blast or Wave runes; a Dragon Weapon/Abyssal Whip; or high level Range weapon.

Dessous

He is Level 139 with 200 HP and uses powerful Melee (about 10+ each hit) and semipowerful Range and Magic attacks. The Magic and Range attacks will send what looks like purple bats at you that do 5 damage for each type (10 damage total each time he uses it). If you use Protect from Range or Magic it only cancels out one of them so you still get hit 5 damage. Use Protect from Melee and use Claws of Guthix or any high level Magic attack or a good Melee Weapon. Dessous has medium HP, and several good hits will do him in. You can also use any attack type you wish. Take good food, Monkfish or better to heal from this Magic/Range attacks. Crumble Undead does not effect him, he is not classed as Undead.

Runescape LEGENDS QUEST WALKTHROUGH - SECTION ONE

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Speak with Sir Radimus Erkle in the Legends’ Guild and he should hand you an incomplete map. Your assignment is to complete it, make friends with the locals, and bring back a totem pole. When you’re done talking with Radimus, search the cupboard in his house for a Machete, which you will need throughout the quest.
When you’re done in the legends guild, take the boat to Brimhaven from Ardougne. Head south until you hit Shilo (or you can take Hajedys cart from Brimhaven to Shilo, it will cost you 41gp). Go in, and get your items from the bank. Bringing a prayer restore potion for this part will be a good idea, but it is not needed.
South of Shilo you should see some woods, use your hatchet and machete to hack your way in here, and start mapping the area (right click on the map Radimus gave you and select map). When you’ve mapped the western, middle and eastern jungle area, go outside again, and you should see a person named Jungle Forester, talk with him, and he will give you a Bull Roarer in return for a copy of your map.
Chop your way back into the southern jungle area, and swing your roarer. Gujuo should now appear, talk with him, and he will ask you for help freeing Sage from the evil demon who has possessed him. Gujuo will tell you about a gold bowl that you will need, and he will give you the plans for this.
To make your bowl, you will need the hammer, two gold bars, and the sketch/plan that Gujuo gave you. The nearest anvil is in the town Tai Bwo Wannai north of Shilo. Go there and make the bowl (use the gold bar on the anvil). Now go back in to the jungle and call for Gujuo again. Tell him you have the bowl, and that he needs to bless it for you.
Note: You need at least 42 prayer points to do this, if you fail you will lose 2 prayer points, and you’ll have to try again.
When you have the bowl, head back to Shilo get out some lockpicks, a pickaxe, the 7 gems, and the following runes; 1 Soul Rune, 1 Mind Rune, 1 Earth Rune and 2 Law Runes. Go back in the jungle and find the pond in the centre of the area. Try using your bowl on the water, and you’ll discover you can’t reach it, then use your machete on the Tall Reeds next to the pond, and then use the hollow reed get from this with the pond. You now have water in the bowl.
Go into the jungle again, and head west, staying at the northern part of the jungle. You should see some rocks forming a triangle, and with an option to search them. Search them, and climb down into the dungeon. You will now see a fire octagon. Investigate it, and talk with Ungadulu, he will throw you out of the octagon. Search the bookcase to the north-east and go through it.
Pick lock the big doors, smash the boulders with your pick axes, run through the death wings, and climb the wall. You should now be in a room with apparently nowhere to go. There should be a wall around there with an option to search it. Do so, and then use your runes on it in this order: Soul, Mind, Earth, Law, Law, making the word SMELL.
You can now go through the SMELL wall and you will be in an area with 7 ponds. Use your gems with all of the stalagmites next to the ponds, and you should find out what fits where. When you have placed the last gems, your character will walk to the middle of the area, a spell will be unleashed, and a book (Book of Binding) will appear on the ground. Take it and read it.
If you read the book, you should now know how to make holy water, which is a great way to defeat the demon you have to fight next.

Runescape ENAKHRA’S LAMENT QUEST STRATEGY GUIDE

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

Starting location: Lazim, in the desert directly south of the Bandit Camp.
Quest difficulty level: Easy.
Reward: 5000 to 7000 crafting, magic, mining and firemaking experience, Akthanakos’s Camulet.
Quest points gained: 2.
Required Skills: Level 50 Crafting, Level 45 Firemaking, Level 43 Prayer and Level 39 Magic.
Required Items: Chisel, Pickaxe, Lantern (Preferably Bullseye Lantern), Coal, Candle, Tinderbox, Willow log, Oak log, Maple log, Normal log, Chaos runes, Fire Runes, Air runes, Earth runes (50 of each rune should do), Soft clay and Cake.
Monsters: Skeleton with no level.
NPC: Lazim, Pentyn, Akthanakos and Enakhra.

ENAKHRA’S LAMENT QUEST WALKTHROUGH
First of all you need to make sure that you have a few prayer points. Take a magic carpet ride or walk out to the Bedabin Camp. Go south around the ridge until you find the quest start point and a guy named Lazim. Talk to him and accept to help him. He tells you how he was once a sculptor, that he wants you to craft a statue for him out in the desert and also quarry the minerals needed for the task. Go southwest from Lazim and mine sandstones worth of 32kg to him. If you forgot your pickaxe, you can just pick one from the stone near you. He will give you back a 32kg lump or rock. Use your chisel on it and put it on the ground next to Lazim. He will want a body for the statue. Just take him 20kg of the stone and he will give you back a 20kg lump of rock. Use your chisel on it to make a body. Use the body on the statue. Talk to Lazim and he says the statue is not complete yet. Use your chisel on the statue stand, and you will carve it a little. He will ask you to make a head. Choose a head you want to use from the list and mine some granite. Use your chisel on a lump of granite to build a head. Talk to Lazim and he will say if the head is right or wrong. Before doing the next part you should get a 5kg lump of granite with you. Put the head on the statue and the statue will fall through the ground. You and Lazim will also fall into the ground into a temple below. Talk to Lazim and he tells you the situation at hand. He will ask you to help you a little more by getting through the temple. Use your chisel on the fallen statue to take off its limbs. Talk to Lazim and ask him for the head of the statue. Take the M sigil. Go down the south passage. Open the door and you will enter a cut-scene. Continue on through the door heading into the next room. Go to the pedestal and grab the R sigil. From this room take the western passage and continue on to the door. You will see another cut-scene. Continue through the door and into the next room. Go to the pedestal and grab the K sigil. Take the eastern route to the central room, use your M sigil on the door to open it and go up the ladder. There is a pedestal in the room you are in. Use your soft clay on the pedestal to make a mould and then use the chisel on the remaining piece of medium sized granite to make a replica of the mould. Place this granite camel head into the pedestal to be greeted by another cut scene. Go to the braziers to the east room, making sure your lantern is lit and examine each of the braziers. Place the appropriate item: log, candle or coal into each one of the braziers. Head to the northeast room and you will find a clogged furnace with smoke bellowing out of it. Use an offensive wind spell on the furnace: wind bolt or wind strike. Next is the frozen fountain to the west of the central pedestal. Simply use a fire offensive spell to melt the ice in the fountain. Head to the room to the northwest of the pedestal and give the cake to the hungry old man named Pentyn. You will now be able to pass through the magic barrier, north out of the central room. Go through and up the ladder. Go through the magic wall and climb up the stairs. Go south through the big room. You will be greeted by a boneguard. Use crumble undead on the boneguard, then continue south by climbing over his bones and go down the ladder that you will see ahead of you. You will see a skeleton here. Put your protect from melee-prayer on and talk to the skeleton for a moment and he will ask your help. Accept to help him. Search the rubble for sandstones weighing 5kg and put them on the wall one by one and use chisel on them every time after you added a sandstone to it. It should take three 5kg stones to finish the job. After the wall is finished you will see a cutscene. Talk to the skeleton once more. This completes the quest.

Runescape RECOMMENDED QUESTS

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Quests

RECOMMENDED QUESTS
Recommendation One:
Do the quest in Falador. Talk to the man in the second floor of the castle for a quest about black knights. Get the Iron Chain Mail found behind Falador Castle. Buy it for about 120 GP. A bronze helmet can be found anywhere. Get some cabbage and go to the black knight castle. Push on walls that are called “Odd walls” and drop the cabbage in a hole to complete the quest. The reward is 2,000 GP.
Recommendation Two: Do the Lost Ghost quest at the graveyard. If you finish this, you will get about 5 or 6 prayer points.
