A Myth or Reality of Runescape

Posted by: cow  //  Category: Runescape Tips

Recently, armies of individuals have thought that they can “Cheat” Runescape to gain unfair advantages over other gamers who use the game. While there are disputes about what the term “Cheating” means, corresponding to TheFreeDictionary(.com), it means ” To act deceitfully; employ fraud.” So, how would this rank against the bulk of players thoughts on cheating?
The virtually commons case of cheating on Runescape is scamming; this is when a player makes an unfair trade with another, for good takes away an item which they offered to repay or not paying a person for a function that they have complete for them. Scamming is a momentous problem in Runescape as even with the extensive event amount of fool proof methods to end best-known scamming ways, there is always alternative way to get about them thanks to the devilish brains of role players, where word of mouth locomotes as speedy as a bullet.

Jagex, the society who have compiled Runescape has largely advertized that they will not support scamming in any way and those who wish to do so will be cast out from the game for good. However, this does make one wonder, whilst Runescape accepted over 100,000 scamming reports last year, only 9,284 hackers were banished (A individual source call). Why do they only caution people when 99% of those infracted redo their crime and are resultingly shunned.

Runescape Macros

Posted by: runescape  //  Category: Beginners' Guide

A macro is a program which does things automatically for you. You can get these programs to do a lot for you in the world of Runescape. Mining and sales talk are the two common uses for them, but before I continue to tell you about them, you must know that

RUNESCAPE DOES NOT ALLOW THE USE OF MACROS FOR ANY ASPECT OF THE GAME.

So, if you use macros, then it’s on your own head. Your account could get banned and you could lose everything on your character.

Be careful when using bots, as some of them are fake, and are programs used to take data from your computer (so they could take anything from your Runescape User and Pass to your credit card details).

One very famous macro is Scar, which practically when programmed let’s you do just about anything in Runescape 2.

There are many more macros out there, and they can used in quite a lot of effective ways. For example, there is a macro in existence that allows you to post speech every couple of seconds dependant on your liking, and then says in-game. If your looking to do merchandising, then maybe using this bot is a good idea in placed like World 1 where it’s so hard getting your voice heard over the many other hundreds of sales-men.

In no way shape or form am I encouraging the use of bots, but I am just explaining their uses. If you care to use them, it is at your own risk.

Negatives of Free Runescape Macros and Auto Bots
If you weren’t already aware Runescape auto bots are illegal and are against the Runescape Rules of Conduct in Rule 7 - Using Third Party Software, to gain unfair advantages against other players. Despite this many players who use free Runescape auto bots will argue that the benefits are greater because they are free to do other things like going out with friends, but at what cost? There is very little support from creators if you encounter problems with the auto bots you download since privacy is preferred over being sued by Jagex. It’s also very easy to get caught by other members of Runescape who work hard for their Runescape items without help from programs, not to mention that Jagex has a special programs designed for the catching of players using auto bots, which would mean losing any hard work you put in personally. Plus at the end of the day isn’t the game designed to be enjoyed and what is enjoyable about achieving nothing.

In the past thousands of Runescape players have found themselves banned for using illegal Runescape macros and auto bots like those mentioned above - On 19 January 2006, over 15000 Runescape accounts were banned for cheating and thinking they could get away with it. In the message posted onto the front page of the official Runescape website, Jagex again reminded players of their systems that they could easily detect cheating and that if you cheat it was just a matter of time before you were banned.
